What an informative lunch. Dany had a nice list of who she needed to befriend now, but she had to do it discreetly, so that Cersei would still keep her around… After school that day, Cersei and Marge asked her if she wanted to go to the mall, but Dany lied and told them that she was trying out for the school play. She got a look of disgust for that. What she was really going to do was wait outside of play practice for this Tyrion guy, who Cersei had some strange vendetta against. The theater department was putting on a production of fantasy show called Dances with Dragons, which Dany actually thought sounded way cool. Maybe she would audition…
A short blonde kid, Tyrion, walked out of the theater room first laughing hard at something with a pretty girl, like way too pretty for Tyrion. Dany looked at him and raised her eyebrows. Tyrion smiled when he saw her, as if he knew she would be there. He whispered something to the girl, she giggled and ran off waving goodbye. He walked over to Dany.
"Well, I wondered when you would become my friend Dany T," said Tyrion.
He really was small, like he hadn't quite gotten through puberty yet. He wasn't ugly, but he sure wasn't attractive. Apparently he was very popular though. In this school full of shallow jerks, Dany wanted to know what he had on them. He did have a sort of charm though. It was as if he was a suave businessman trapped in an awkward teenager's body.
"Tyrion. Nice to meet you," said Dany. "I'm just trying to meet everyone here, since, you know, it's my new home for awhile. Just trying to find my place here!" Dany smiled sweetly.
"Oh, it looks like you might have already found it! I think you know just exactly what you like, Dany. A pretty girl like you simply must be in Cersei's group, which is to your advantage of course. It makes things pretty easy. Does she know you're talking to me? You better not ever let her catch you or her brain might start being as sharp as her nails." Tyrion obviously knew just as much as Dany did, if not more.
"Ooookay. Tyrion, I think we should be friends. Secret friends for now, but I feel like we have a lot in common." Dany smiled.
"Oh? Do you have an idea in how to change the school? I am student body president you know. I can do things. I just need some help sometimes. You could probably be really helpful, Dany. Now, I'm not going to tell you to run for a position, because they're already filled. You should probably talk to my vice president, Jon. You might like him. Quiet type, but you have a lot in common." Tyrion, sitting on the lunch table bench with her, moved a little bit closer. "Dany, I know about your cousin last year. Where is he now? I heard boarding school?"
Dany was a bit taken aback by this, but not totally surprised that Tyrion knew about Rhaegar, and guessed her relation to him. "Yeah… he's in boarding school. He was just over it."
"Understandably so… You would think it was a bit of an overreaction for Cersei to frame him for cheating just for breaking up with her, but no surprises there. One does not simply cross Cersei." Tyrion sighed. "Yes… she is kind of the worst. Anyway, Jon was one of his closest friends. He probably knows some stuff about Cers, and I've got some stuff too… I thought by being president I could finally change the way this school works, but not quite. We need someone who can really sway our audience here. And goddammit we aren't going to let her win queen again and we sure as hell won't let her pick the school mascot!"
Dany giggled. This could be fun. Why couldn't she be homecoming queen? It would be pretty cool, but it would be even cooler and so satisfying to crush some bullies. She knew what it felt like to be on the wrong side of the cool crowd.
"Alright! You're right. Let's do it. I don't suppose it would just be the easiest thing to just rig the votes, since you are in charge, after all?" Dany punched Tyrion on the arm and winked.
"Obviously I would have already done that last year. No, Mr. Baelish counts the votes. Although he does have a bit of a creepy soft spot for Cersei. So does Coach Baratheon. Coach Ned openly ignores her whenever he teaches gym though, it's kind of hilarious. Anyway, be off with you, my queen." Tyrion smiled. "Just keep pretending to be a bitch and we're golden."
"Well, freak, it was sucky talking to you. See ya, loser." Dany playfully punched him the arm, and walked towards her car for home.
When she got to her car in the parking lot, she saw Drogo leaning on it, wearing yet another horse shirt, this one with a big black horse running on some desert plains to the background of a lighting storm. Sweet.
"Heyyyyy," said Dany. "What's up?"
"Wanna go to the park?
She smiled. "Ok." The both hopped in her car and headed over to Dothrak Park. They talked about normal stuff for a little while. Dany though Drogo was just oddly hot. He was totally weird looking, and the horse thing was a lot. But so was her dragon thing.
"So, why were you talking to Tyrion?" asked Drogo.
"Ah, well, remember all that nonsense my brother told you about how he wanted to come, like, be cool at a school for once, and get rid of all those popular kids, and he kind of tried to enlist you into his weird little army?" Drogo nodded. "Well, he's still crazy and weird, and it's just not gonna happen for him. However… we do have a little bit of a family vendetta against Cersei. And bullies in general!" She told him about her cousin Rhaegar and his history with Cersei. "She's just kind of a horrible person, and wouldn't it be funny to change things at West Terros? As in, not let Cersei win homecoming queen and quit bullying everyone? I mean, Marge is awful too, but you can tell she would maybe be normal if not for Cersei. I'm not sure why people "pretend" to like her, but it seems like she's just got something on everyone. I don't know. I kind of just think it might be fun to totally take her down…"
Drogo laughed. "Yeah… and Joff. That dick."
"Yes!" said Dany. "Him too. All of them really. Or at least give them a chance to be nice and stop enslaving the school under the stupid oppressive reign of popularity!"
"Well. You have my vote." They stopped, and sat at a park bench. He grabbed her hand, and abruptly kissed her. She kissed him back. Yeah, she kind of liked Drogo. He was cool. He was sort of weird, but he had a very unjudgemental way of talking to her and listening to her. She had a lot of opinions. She dropped him off at his house and headed home.
The next day at school, she decided she needed to first, start to break Cersei's posse, and for that she needed some more information. She needed to find a way to discreetly hang out with Jon. He wasn't in any of her classes and it wasn't as if she could go sit by him at lunch.
She went to her first few classes. Sansa and Joff were, unfortunately, in all of her morning classes. Today, Sansa was trying to pass Joff a note during class. Dany reached her neck over to try and see what it said: "Bleachers at lunch?"
Dany rolled her eyes. Joff didn't see the note, though. Actually, he was actively trying not to look at it. Sansa put it on his desk, he ignored her, intently paying attention to the teacher. Sansa poked him on the shoulder, and he violently turned toward her and mouth, "WHAT?" Sansa, looking defeated, turned back in her desk and pouted. Looked like there was trouble in paradise… maybe Dany could work on Sansa a little bit. Although Cersei and Marge hated Sansa a little bit, she was still a popular girl in their group. And she probably knew a lot of good secrets about them… and Joff. Hmmm.
The bell rang, and Joff rushed out, with Sansa trying to gather up her stuff to chase after him. Dany stopped her.
"Hey, Sansa!"
"What," said Sansa shortly.
"Um, do you want eat lunch with me?" asked Dany.
"Uhh, I always do, with our friends… so yeah? I'll see you there?" Sansa gave her a weird look and walked off.
Dany would have to work a little harder than that. Obviously Sansa assumed they were all eating at Cersei's table. She tried really hard to be in Cersei's group. It would be tricky to convince her otherwise.
Dany got to lunch a little bit late. She saw Cersei's group already all eating at her table. Joff was being very flirtacious with Marge, and Sansa was sitting on the edge of the table pouting. Cersei looked pleased. Jaime whispered something in her ear and she laughed hysterically. Robb was eating pizza and talking to no one in particular about how football tryouts had been going. Dany went to sit down next to Sansa.
"What's up?" Dany asked.
"Umm look at how slutty she's being. Like could she have rolled her skirt higher today?" Clearly Sansa was talking about Marge.
"Uh, yeah…." Said Dany. "She inched a little closer to Sansa. "I mean… Cersei told me the other day that Joff was going to ask Marge to homecoming. Actually… I'm pretty sure she told Joff that he should ask her. She said Marge would be really easy…"
"What." Whoops. That pissed her off. Sansa got up abruptly and walked away towards the bathroom.
Cersei finally noticed Dany's presence. "Um, what the hell? What's her problem? Hey Dany."
"Um, I mean, I think she was just upset about something. She didn't tell me." Dany took a big bite of her sandwich.
"Ha. I think I know. She nodded over to Marge and Joff. I mean… it was pretty obvious he was cheating on her forever. He even cheated on her with me once. Don't tell anyone." Cersei laughed. "Of course, we were both super drunk. I wouldn't ever do that to a friend on purpose. She'll get over it. And if not, whatever. She should toughen up."
"Yeah… that's so awkward," Dany said, a bit lamely.
"Anywayyyy. What's up with you? I keep seeing you talking to that Drogo freak. Is there something going on with you? I told you he's totally creepy, Dany. I can kind of get the exotic hot thing, but really? That's just embarrassing. You should probably stop talking to him," instructed Cersei.
"Yeah, he's kind of, weird. He keeps talking to me, I don't really get it," said Dany.
Cersei laughed. "Ewwww. Well if he starts stalking you I bet Jaime could totally beat him up! Right?" She nudged Jaime next to her and rubbed his shoulder.
"Hmph. Sure, Cersei," said Jaime, and we went back to his pizza.
Then Robb chimed in. "Dany, is someone bothering you? Really, if he is, just tell me. I'll take care of it," he said very seriously. He cracked his knuckles. Cersei signed dramatically, and the bell rang.
"Alright… I'll catch you losers later." Cersei blew a kiss to everyone. "Don't forget about the party tonight!"
Oh yeah… it was Friday, and the first game day of the year. Cersei had told Dany about it last week, but she had forgotten. There's always a party after the first game, at the Frey's house. The Frey's were all on the football team, and all different ages. They weren't quite the stars of the team, but there were so many of them that they kind of had a reputation. A party would be the perfect place to stage Cersei's first humiliation. Dany had to talk to Jon.
After school she caught Tyrion walking through the hallways.
"Are you going to the Frey's party?" she asked.
"I wasn't going to… but if you're going and want to have some fun…" Tyrion winked.
"Yes. I do. But I need to talk to Jon! Where is he?" She said.
"Oh. We can hang out with Jon. He will probably be getting ready for the game soon though, so we should be quick about it." He whipped out his cell phone and waited for a few rings.
"Jooooonnn. What's up? Do you want to go grab some food? I have a friend you should meet!" He listend for a few seconds. "No, no. Come on. Her name is Dany. Dany Targaryen." Silence. "She knew Rhaegar. Oh, just come be social for a bit. I'll meet you there in 10." He turned back to Dany. "Alright! We've got a date with that bastard Jon. Let's go!"
Dany drove them over to the local burger joint. They walked in and Jon was already there with a milkshake. She and Tyrion sat down.
"Hey, Jon, I'm Dany." They shook hands. Jon was the dark and brooding type, but a very good-looking one. Talk, dark and handsome. She was surprised he didn't hang with Cersei and her gang. Really, he was a bit of a loner, except for this one chubby kid he was always with, Sam.
"Hey Dany. So I know you, I know what you want. I'm in." He smiled. "You're gonna be queen, and Cersei is going to suck it. No problem." He looked her in the eyes for a few seconds too long, and smiled.
Dany was shocked at how chipper he was. She was expecting a man of few words. "Oh! Well that's easy then." Jon looked so familiar to her, but she couldn't quite pin it down. She knew he was friends with her cousin, but she and Rhaegar were hardly close, and he certainly never talked about his friends. Jon seemed cool. She liked him. She felt like he could be really important at their school, and she wasn't quite sure why he was sort of the class outcast.
"Hey, Jon, Do you wanna be the king to my homecoming queen?" Dany asked. It didn't feel like a weird question. She really liked Drogo, but he wasn't going to be a homecoming king. Jon was.
