Chapter Seven: In the Dollhouse Now

Hello, that's right, I'm back once again for another chapter. I hope this wait wasn't nearly as excruciating as the last but here you all go, the next chapter and I hope it meets your hopes and dream. Be sure to follow favorite and comment.

I scowl down at myself for what must be the four thousandth time in the last thirty minutes, Riley peer pressured me into a dress and now I'm seriously regretting that decision big time. While Riley absolutely adores the idea of dolling herself up for a night out in the world I would much rather stay in my jeans and T-shirt and an awesome jacket to go along with my bad girl reputation.

Somehow Riley always convinces me to do these things that make me question my own sanity, this is one of those times. We had to borrow a couple of Topanga's dresses but she didn't seem to mind in the least. Mrs. Lawrence is insanely nice but she's a little bit odd, sort of like a hippie but hey, who am I to judge. Currently I'm in a horrendous dress whilst being trapped in the 90's so, yeah.

Perhaps if I had a leather jacket to go along with this black and red spotted dress I may not hate it as much as I do but oh well, nothing I can do about it now so I just how to get over it. Riley and Topanga are huddled close together chatting and giggling over Topanga's crush on Cory— wow that's weird to say —and Riley seems to be playing the excited friend really well, especially considering how odd she's been lately, not that I blame her.

The radio plays some tune of some song I don't really care to identify as I simply look out the window, trying to forget everything. It was hard to get Riley to let me change in private so she wouldn't see the bruises from my last encounter with my mom so I had to wear my camouflage jacket over this dress which looks like a awful combination but it doesn't matter one way or the other.

When we pull at at Chubbie's, it's literally packed with people, it's so bad that there's a line outside to get into the building. Silently I groan my disdain, I don't want to wait in a long line to get inside a random restaurant for now reason aside from meeting a group of people but Riley will make me so what's the use complaining? Topanga kisses her mom on the cheek and waves goodbye before stepping onto the sidewalk where Riley and I wait for her.

As soon as we near the crowd of people they instantly part like the Red Sea for the three of us to pass. Raising an eyebrow and with the shrug of the shoulders I step forward with Riley and Topanga following behind me like I'm the bodyguard or something. Sure I'd protect them, especially Riley, but what could possible happen right now that would need my protection?

We are smashed together as we slowly but surly descend the staircase and finally find ourselves on the main floor of the burger joint. Cory is sitting at a booth across from his friend Shawn who is lip-locked with some red haired girl in a shirt skirt and high heels. Finally having enough awkwardness Cory gets up from the table and walks over to the three of us.

"Thank goodness, I've been trapped with kissing Yin and Yang, they've been like that for that last twenty minutes and it's been very awkward for me," Cory says to Topanga, completely ignoring us and speaking so fast that he runs out of air and has to gasp for more before finally taking notice of us and flashing a smile. "Oh and nice to see you two as well."

I grin at him. "Sure it is Matthews. I'm gonna go play pool if you need me, you know where to find me."

Passing by the kissing couple without a word I reach the pool table and grab a Q-stick from the ones hanging on the wall. "Maya! Don't leave me alone," Riley shouts, running past the table where Shawn and his temporary girl are.

Riley darts over to me and takes her usual place by my side and watches as I set up the pool table. "If you're gonna play Riles, you're gonna need a Q-stick and need to be taught how to play."

In the corner of my eyes I see Shawn pull away from red head and looks over to where Riley and I are. He excuses himself and pretty much ditches her after making out with her. "The sticks are over there hon," I say, pointing out the sticks location as Riley starts to make her way to the Q-sticks.

"That, what you saw over there with me and uh... what's here name, wasn't what it looked like," Shawn says, almost immediately after reaching my location at the pool table. I let a grin fall over my face.

"I didn't say a thing Hunter, besides, I'm not you're girlfriend so what would I care? Despite what you might think, not every girl in the world has a thing for you so get over yourself."

"Well you're acting a little girly so I figure you have some sort of revenge planned."

I flick my eyes towards him. "Oh so I wasn't acting like a girl before? Is that what you're implying, I can exact revenge if I want to but I have no reason to want to so, your logic is flawed."

"Is this what I needed?" Riley calls, holding up an elderly mans cane.

"Give the man back his cane and I'll give you my Q-stick, you're starting to embarrass yourself."

Riley looks from me to the elderly man behind her and apologizes, handing him back his cane, then obeys my order and starts back towards me.

"She's so—" Hunter trails off.

"Goofy, yeah, she is, but you gotta love her."

"She reminds me so much of my friend Cory, it's like they're one in the same, it's almost uncanny."

As soon as Riley reaches me a voice rings out across the restaurant. "Where is she at!?" his voice rings throughout the room, filled with annoyance and anger. Turning to the door that's when I see him.

Harley Keiner, of course.
