Chapter 4:

It was Saturday. After club activities were over, Chihaya was waiting for Tsubasa near the main gate. She was late. Chihaya thought of calling her but then she saw her friend walking towards her with the basketball club.

"Hey,Chi-chan! Did I keep you waiting?" Tsubasa shouted while running towards her.

"Not really."

"We are going for Karaoke, wanna come?" Tsubasa asked.

"Umm. Sorry, I really want to come but we are having extra practice at Shiranami society for tomorrow's tournament. So I have to pass. But thanks for inviting." Chihaya really wanted to go with everyone. Last time they went to eat ice-cream and it was really fun. But now she had no other option then rejecting the offer.

"Okay then. See-ya Chi-Chan."

"Bye."

"Kagami-san is not coming?" Shintaro asked as he saw Chihaya leaving first.

"What~~ Kaga-chin is not coming this time? Murasakibara asked disappointingly. He liked Chihaya's company as they both had a sweet tooth, and liked same type of chocolates.

"Oh, she has a tournament tomorrow that must be the reason she is not coming." Shintaro thought.

"You know a lot about Kagami-san Shintaro." Akashi said teasingly.

"Wait… What?! I didn't said anything." Shintaro was taken by surprise by Akashi's comment.

Everyone laughs on Shintaro's reaction. Still puzzled he looked towards Tsubasa in hope of some explanation.

"Oh! Shin-chan don't give me that look. You were clearly saying out loud instead of thinking in your head. Don't worry; this can happen when you like someone." The group gave another loud laughter on Tsubasa's comment.

"Way to go Midorin."

"Shut up Momoi. And I have changed my mind. I am not coming for karaoke. So, Bye." Shintaro said everything in a single breath with half embarrassed and half angry tone.

"Hey,Shin-Chan don't take this seriously we were just joking. Don't get mad."

Pretending not to listen Shintaro kept walking towards his home.

" Guyz back me up a bit looks like he is mad." Tsubasa said on a more serious note.

"Don't worry he will be fine." Akashi said. "just leave him on his own for now."

After this the group headed toward the karaoke centre. On the way Tsubasa sent a quick message to Shintaro saying sorry. Just in case she thought.

Chihaya hurried toward the Shiranami society. She thought that she was late but thankfully she made it on time. Everybody was just getting started.

"Chi-chan, you are really fired up today." Tsuboguchi Hiroshi Said as Chihaya took her 3rd card in a row.

"Hai. Tomorrow I have to win it in any case."

By the time practice finished it was already dark. Everyone packed up and was heading towards home. Chihaya was going with Harada-sensei, for some last minute tips.

" Ok, Arigatou Harada-sensei I will definitely win tomorrow. Good Night!"

"Good Night Chi-chan, go home safely."

As she was walking towards her home, her head filled with thoughts of tomrrow's match she didn't notice person walking in front of her and bumped on him.

" Wha~~..I am Sooo sorry. I was not looking where I was going. I am really sorry." Chihaya apologized at least a dozen times.

" Look where are you going the whole road is empty and still you are bumping on people." The guy said without even bothering to turn around. And continued to walk.

Wait a minute . Chihaya thought the person sounds familiar. Shintaro-kun? She called out.

Kagami-san! Seriously, look where you going.

"Why are you alone Shintaro-kun? You were with everyone for Karaoke right?"

"Oh. That, I didn't go to karaoke. Does your practice finish this late every time."

"Not really. I stayed back to ask tips to Harada-sensei, because of which it got late."

"Hmm.."

A sudden silence fell between them. Home was still 10 minute away. And both of them were not good at starting conversation.

Should I ask about that night? Or not? Perhaps it will be good if I don't bring that up. Midorima was just thinking about something to talk upon. It was such a rare chance that they are not interrupted by anyone.

On the other was lost once more in her thoughts. She was not paying attention towards Midorima who was walking besides her.

"Perhaps I should leave her with her thoughts." Midorima thought while looking at her face which seemed that she was in a deep thought.

Chihaya's house came first and she bid her farewell to Midorima.

"Okayeri,Shin-chan." Tsubasa said as Shintaro closed the door behind him.

"Don't talk to me Tsubasa."

"Shin-chan,IT WAS A JOKE alright?! Seriously stop acting like a child. Now get fresh quickly and help me out."

Both of them ate dinner in scilence.

"Sorry Tsubasa."

" You better be. You don't know how childish you looked when you dashed away from school." Tsubasa said laughing. It was hard not ot laugh after remembering his face at that time.

" By the way. Tomorrow you are free right Shin-chan?"

"Yes but why?"

"What you don't want to watch Chi-chan's match? Have you already gave up on her?." Tsubasa said teasingly.

"Yes I will be coming. And I take my apology back. Seriously you get annoying sometime."
