Author's Note:
So I haven't completely disappeared! What a chaotic couple of weeks it's been though. Remember how, in the AN for the last chapter I had mentioned that my writing time was being restricted to my daughter's nap time? Well, I decided to risk it and work on the chapter when I thought that she was fully engaged elsewhere. It worked great, for a while. Right up until the moment that I had to step away from my computer and I came back to the entire chapter GONE. I still have absolutely no idea what she did but whatever it was meant that I got to start from scratch. It didn't help, of course, that this mama had her own little brain drain going on. Nothing too horrible and nothing that couldn't have been much worse but it still made writing difficult.
I would like to warn you know (and some of you may have foreseen this coming) but there is one aspect in this chapter that is kind of….cliché. Cliché as in probably three quarters of all HarryPotter FF's contain some variation of it in their stories. On mine it's a necessary evil. I'm putting a small AN at the end of the chapter to better explain it as I don't want to put it here and potentially spoil the chapter for you. See, aren't I nice?
Finally, in the AN at the end of the chapter I've also got a teensy tiny request for you all. Not a requirement, obviously, but just a request.
There is not really anything in this chapter to warrant a Trigger Warning but I will forewarn you that the next one or two chapters definitely will!
Now, onto the story. Enjoy!

Chapter 7
One Back, Two Forward
11 January 2003
the Burrow
Ottery St. Catchpole
The holidays passed rather painlessly and before she could credit it, the New Year had begun. Hermione had retreated back to her flat during the first full week of the New Year in order to reflect and consider all of her current issues going forward. It was obvious, to her, that preparing to become a mother was her most important Resolution, followed closely by moving steadily forward in her healing.
To get a further start on the first of her two resolutions, Hermione reread the pregnancy books starting from her current stage going forward week by week so that she would have a better idea what she was to be expecting going forward. She had gone back to the book store and purchased several more books relating specifically to informing her as to what to expect after the baby was born, and read those as well.
It wasn't until her week of seclusion was coming to an end that she had realized that she was nearing the half-way point of her pregnancy. She had sat in silence for a few moments, allowing that information to settle into place. Gently rubbing her swollen belly, Hermione rose to send a letting to Healer Catherine to schedule her next appointment. She had been surprised to realize that the twitching of her belly that signified that the baby she carried within her was awake and moving had fallen into a tentative routine but the routine was easily altered by her own moods and actions, and even the various things that she would eat. Hermione had gotten an unending sense of amusement when she realized her morning glasses of orange or pumpkin juice was enough to make her belly start moving up a storm. She had read that it was the cold temperature of the beverages that were responsible. It was the hiccups, though, that caused her giggles more often than not. Prior to the first bought of them, Hermione hadn't been aware that it was possible to be ticklish from the inside.
Having successfully scheduled her next appointment with Healer Catherine for the third week in January, Hermione made her way slowly through the busy London foot traffic towards the Leaky Cauldron where she quickly paid for and used the floo to get the Burrow to join the family for breakfast, as promised.
Greeting everyone present with a warm smile and a wave before taking a seat next to Ginny who promptly pulled her into a side hug.
"Good morning, Hermione!" She chirped. "All sorted, then?"
Hermione nodded, "Yes, my head's not quite feeling the overload that it was previously. I'm still running through things but for the time being I'm alright. Speaking of which, Ginny, Mum, I would like to get your opinion on something, if you don't mind?"
Molly, expression still beaming over the turn of title, nodded, "Of course, dear girl. What's on your mind?"
"I've realized that I'm almost at the half way point of this pregnancy and I've realized that I've somewhat come to a fork in the road. Now's the time where I really need to start turning my focus to what needs to happen before the baby arrives. Find and purchase the things that are necessities for the arrival. I'm wondering if you, both of you, would mind helping me find and pick out some things and maybe…help me to figure out the best way to set it all up in my flat?" She asked, smiling shyly when both witch's expressions lit up eagerly.
"Of course, Hermione! It would be our pleasure to help you with this," Molly beamed, Ginny nodding in agreement from her seat beside Hermione. "We can get started, at least browsing this weekend, does that sound like a plan?"
Hermione grinned widely and opened her mouth to respond when she was cut off by the door flying open causing her to start violently enough to knock over her cup and spill her plate of food onto the floor. She focused firmly on settling her rising anxiety when Harry and Ron burst into the kitchen, eyes wide in a panic of their own.
"Boys! What in the world is the matter?" Molly said briskly, having had a minor start of her own at the sudden intrusion. The two wizards glanced wearily at each other before gently leading the Weasley matriarch out of the room to speak to her privately. Once she'd gone, Ginny and Hermione exchanged worried glances before the redheaded witch pulled a couple fleshy strings from one of her pockets, handing one off to Hermione.
"-Prophet. I don't want to see her set back after she's been doing so well," Harry said, exasperated.
"I thought that she had told you that Charlie had mentioned this as a potential?" Molly asked.
"He did, sort of. He pretty much just said that's what the people at the Reserve were speculating. This…this is different," the wizard replied.
"Mum, you remember our fourth year! How hard she had to fight when those nasty articles came out. I think that Harry's right, this could be a huge setback for her if we don't find a way to intervene. The sheer amount of hate mail she got last time probably won't even compare. We've got to stop it." Ron's voice stated.
"What are you asking of me, boys?" Molly asked, voice weary and tired.
"Talk to Arthur about looking into what kind of strings can be pulled? Maybe talk to Bill about setting up wards to block those letters? I don't know. We came here as soon as we saw the article." Harry said, tone strained and stressed.
Ginny glanced to Hermione who was eyeing the newspaper, settled on the opposite end of the table where Arthur had left it prior to his own morning departure, wearily before reaching a hand out to grab it, needing to know what exactly was being said about her. Ginny looked worried and hesitant, considering the worry that had just been overheard from the other room. The two witches exchanged another glance before nodding firmly and opening the paper. What they found didn't necessarily surprise her considering Charlie had at least given her forewarning. That didn't make it hurt any less, however.
The Not-So-Golden Girl Strikes Again
Daniella Landry
The Daily Prophet has spent the last month weeding through rumors, lies and truth to bring to your attention the new potential danger we all now face at the hands of Hermione Granger.
Two years and some change ago, Hermione Granger and Daniel Gordon packed up and left London to start a new life across the pond in the United States. While the sudden decision to move shocked and disappointed both of their families and friends, the couple seemed very insistent. In an exclusive interview given to the Daily Prophet by Sarah Gordon, Mr. Gordon's sister, she stated that move was when things had begun to change in her relationship with her brother. Below is an excerpt from the interview.
"It was just so strange, you know? Daniel and I have always been so close. We were the best of friends growing up. He was one of the sweetest, most generous men that I've had the privilege to know. It's practically been my goal to find a man with similar qualities once I'm ready to marry. He was so happy when he got approval to go to Romania to work with Dragons. That had been his dream since we were little, even before we even knew that they actually existed. That, suddenly, he was willing to completely give up, not only the dragons, but also his magic, his family, and his friends….for some girl scarcely out of school? It just wasn't like him. It's just not like Daniel at all."
When asked about further changes and the strain put on their relationship by the move, Ms. Gordon had this to say:
"He always seemed on edge. Anxious. We still kept in touch, talking at least once a week via Muggle means so it was quite eerie to bear witness to his changes. He was either so incredibly angry or overwhelmingly sad every time that we talked. It always seemed to have something to do with her. The Granger girl. 'Hermione's been doing this, she's been saying that'. I could tell that he was struggling with a lot, though he'd never tell me specifically what. I tried for months to convince him to leave her, to come back home but he always refused. He'd mentioned the house that they had purchased. About his job. Though, now that I think about it, he never once listed her as a reason he didn't want to come back home."
I wish that I could tell you that this troubling story gets better, but it does not. In mid-October, just a few short months ago, Ms. Gordon received a call that changed everything. Daniel Gordon was dead and his assailant had claimed self-defense and long term abuse against him. Something that Ms. Gordon insists is virtually impossible and likely a feeble attempt to avoid being prosecuted for murder and extremely slanderous to her late brother's reputation.
"My brother is not…was not a violent man. He's one of the few people I've ever met that scarcely even has a temper to speak of. He's a quiet, gentle man. These accusations are simply ludicrous."
Following the trail that Ms. Gordon had provided us, we reached out to the Dragon Reserve in Romania where Mr. Gordon had been employed for several years prior to the start of his relationship with Ms. Granger. The sentiments of his former co-workers tended to follow the same line as that of his sister's. His supervisor had this to say:
"He could get as rough and tumble as any of the rest of us, you've got to be to handle the job here. But he was quiet and scarcely ever had a negative thought directed his way. Shame to know what happened to him."
It unfortunately falls to me to inform you that Mr. Daniel Gordon's assailant and apparent slanderer is none other than our very own Hermione Granger. Just before the Holidays launched in full swing, Ms. Granger was seen back in our community once more, exiting Saint Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries (see above) alongside Molly Weasley (mother of Ronald and Ginevra Weasley). As you can see, there is no physical evidence to even begin to confirm her claims of abuse and/or self-defense. Rest assured, however, that this Daily Prophet investigation has only begun and we will continue to update our readers as new information arises.
Once again, however, our Golden Girl has potentially shown her true colors. The American courts have dismissed the case against Ms. Granger but we are not convinced. I leave you with just one question: Is this woman, clearly capable of murder in cold blood, someone that we want to embrace back into our community? If Ms. Granger or the Weasley family are reading this, Wizarding Brittan and Daniel Gordon's family deserve answers. If the Department of Magical Law Enforcement is reading this, again, we demand and deserve answers. Citizens of Wizarding Britton, if you have information that you can add to this investigation, please contact me, Daniella Landry via owl, floo, or in person at your earliest convenience. Your help in putting the pieces of this case together would be, I assure you, immeasurable.
Until those answers find their way to light, we, here at the Daily Prophet, will continue updating the witches and wizards of Britton with any and all new information that comes our way.
Hermione and Ginny sank back into their seats, staring at the article and supplied photograph blankly. Each organizing their own thoughts before glancing at one another, gauging the others' expression. Hermione know that there was not a single person among the Weasley family, Harry included, that believed this rubbish. Ginny and Molly had bared witness to the damage her body had sustained that first night that she had come to the Burrow. All had, at one point or another, bared witness to her fragile mental state. Her panic attacks, sudden emotional meltdowns. She truly believed that not a single member of this family even possibly believed her to be lying about everything that she had gone through.
The people who wrote this. Read this. They didn't matter to her. Did they? If Harry and Ron were correct, she would probably be readjusting that thought rather soon if she were to be receiving an influx of post similar to what she had dealt with in their fourth year at Hogwarts. It still hurt. She couldn't deny that. Even with all the support that this family was offering her, she couldn't deny the sting that the world was, once again, against her due to lies and inaccurate information spread by the Daily Prophet. And she didn't even have the stupid Beetle to blame this time. She didn't even recognize the woman's name. Daniella Landry?
"What are you thinking, Hermione?" Ginny asked, quietly, eyes flickering between the door separating them from Molly, Ron, and Harry and back to Hermione.
"It hurts. Of course it hurts, Gin. For some reason they seem to live off of shredding what reputation I have left. It's odd though…" she trailed off.
"What's odd?" Harry's voice asked suddenly as the three reentered the kitchen, all eyeing the newspaper in her hands wearily.
Hermione tilted her head in thought, though the strain of the articles words were still evident in her expression and the tense posture of her body her voice was steady, albeit confused and curious when she finally responded. "I hadn't known that Daniel even had a sister, let alone that he was keeping in touch with some of his family back here. I mean, considering the majority of his outbursts were because I was trying to do the same, I had no reason to even consider that maybe he had left people behind when we'd left."
"You didn't know he had a sister?" Ginny asked, stunned.
"Uh-Uh," Hermione shook her head in the negative, narrowing her eyes in thought. "When we first started dating, well before we left, he had always just said that his family was 'gone'. He'd mentioned once or twice that his mum was killed in a car accident while he was still at Hogwarts. He'd never really mentioned his father or any siblings. Truth be told, I had just assumed that he was an only child, like I was."
"How do you want us to handle this, 'Mione?" Ron asked, tentatively.
She cocked her head in confusion, brows furrowed, "What do you mean?"
"How do you want to go forward? Do we go after this Daniella Landry for defamation? Do we humor her and give interviews? She's got a much better reporting reputation from all sides that Skeeter ever did so I think she might be more reputable than you'd expect from the Beetle. Or do you just want to avoid it until it calms down?"
Hermione frowned in thought and glanced around the table at the other two witches and two wizards, none of whom gave anything away in their expressions. She sighed heavily and chewed on her lower lip in consideration. "What are your opinions? You've been here the last few years, you know the climate and you apparently have some sort of knowledge on this reporter. What do you all think that I should do?"
The table was silent for a few moments as everyone gathered their thoughts but it was Harry who spoke up first, reaching across the table to take her hands, "Honestly, Hermione, it might be best to move forward with a statement of some sort. I'd almost suggest going as far to talk to your Healer about releasing the records on what she had needed to heal with an outline of a damage report. That part is fully up to you. Also it's up to you whether or not you might be willing to provide use of pensieve memories.
I've followed Landry's articles for a while. She's thorough. She's not a gossip columnist like Skeeter was and she doesn't generally go half-cocked on a story just to get people to read. So my suggestion is that you make a statement and if you're willing-though I'd strongly suggest considering it-send a brief overview of your medical records to Landry and a full report with the offer of pensive memories to the DMLE. That way you're a head of the ball and they can't accuse you of avoiding the investigation. After that, I'd suggest that you stay out of the public eye just until the DMLE can do their job without you getting harassed left and right."
Hermione nodded thoughtfully before turning her gaze to the rest of the table's occupants, searching questioningly for their opinions. Molly and Ginny exchanged glances briefly before hesitantly nodding in agreement with Harry's recommendation. "I have to agree with Harry on this, my dear. Unfortunately, it is likely to be only a matter of time before the DMLE receives enough pressure from the public that they'll be all but required to open an investigation. It would be better for you to be ahead of that."
"And you could always stay here until it all dies down, however long that takes," Ginny grinned.
Hermione's expression turned weary. She loved the Weasleys. She loved how supportive they had been. She wasn't sure how she would do with being unable to go into her own when the need arose. That made her rather anxious just thinking about it.
"Actually, Hermione, I have a potential alternative for you, if you're interested in hearing it," Harry stated cautiously. At her curious nod, he glanced briefly around the table before launching into his explanation. "After the paper was delivered this morning at breakfast up at the school, the Headmaster and McGonagall asked me into a meeting. Obviously, both remembered the disaster that was our fourth year and they discussed different options. It turned out, they requested that I extend an offer to you. Madam Pince is finally requesting her retirement and they are extending her position to you for the foreseeable future. From what they've told me, you'll have your own quarters and they are willing to connect the floo to the one here at the Burrow. They know that you're expecting and they are willing to talk to Poppy about taking on your medical care, if you'd like or they can add an additional connection directly to St. Mungo's atrium. After the war, the wards were upgraded and increased slightly to where they can detect and neutralize harmful substances or if it's suspicious but not necessarily harmful, the wards 'flag' the letter to that it can be carefully inspected prior to being opened."
"Basically, you'll be working alongside Madam Pince for the remainder of the term with the option to take over the position fully come next term. You'll have your own, private quarters with free pretty much free reign. You'll be employed by the school and therefore paid. It'll keep you safe and fully engaged, which I think would be very beneficial for your recovery. And you'll have the infirmary practically at your disposal. It's up to you, in the end, but they asked that I pass along the option. McGonagall just asked that if you're interested that you get in contact with her sooner rather than later that way if you're not interested, they can move forward with other potential candidates."
Hermione blinked in surprise at the sudden offer, her mind whirling over the information. It was a logical step. She hadn't thought too much in terms of potential employment but she couldn't live off of her savings forever. She also didn't want to overstay her welcome at the Burrow-regardless of everyone's insistence that she wasn't, she couldn't help but feel that time was nearing, especially considering her lack of income. She glanced around briefly to find that no one else seemed to be remotely surprised by the offer.
"Again, I think I would like to hear your opinions," Hermione said softly, speaking to the table at large.
I think it's an option that you should seriously consider, my girl," Molly replied. "There's much to be gained from it and nearly minimal to be lost. If you spoke with them, they would likely even consider the possibility of an assistant for you, for once the little one is born. I think that you should at least speak with Minerva before dismissing it out of hand."
She nodded thoughtfully, "Harry, do you suppose that she would be willing to meet with me today or tomorrow, do you? I would at least like to discuss it with her."
He grinned and nodded, "before I left to intercept your reading of the newspaper, which I've obviously failed at, she had told me that she was awaiting word. Give me just a moment and I'll floo her."
The rest of the table's occupants waited in silent anticipation. Hermione's mind continued to spin, coming up with specific information that she would need to know it order to make a full decision. A large part of her had already made a decision but there was still a part of her that was slightly weary and required more information before agreeing with the rest of her mind.
It was just a few moments of waiting before Harry returned to the kitchen followed closely by Minerva McGonagall. The older witch offered Hermione a warm smile and a brief hug in greeting. It was then that Hermione remembered just how much she had missed her Professor.
"I am of the understanding that Mister Potter has extended and explained the offer that Albus and I have spoken with him about?" she asked.
"Yes, Professor. It's a very interest proposition and, I'll admit, one that I am seriously considering," Hermione confirmed.
"Yet you've got questions?" At Hermione's nod, her former professor gave a small smile, "I'd have thought as much. You'd hardly be Miss Granger without having questions."
Hermione felt her cheeks warm and she ducked her head apologetically before clearing her throat to regain control of her wayward emotions, "Um..Professor, what are the terms of the position?"
"Minerva, my dear, unless to happen to take the position and we are among students," Minerva corrected, gently. "As for the position, you would be working in tandem with Irma for a few months, familiarizing yourself with the resources available in the Hogwart's library. You would also be trained on the current system used for maintaining an inventory and for keeping track of books loaned to the students. Next term, if you've chosen to stay on, you will be given free rein in that avenue. The library, for all intents and purposes, will be yours to maintain in whatever way you see fit. I'm well aware that Irma and you will likely have differing opinions on how things should be handled and run. I would ask that you show restraint in trying to implement whatever changes you've deemed necessary until the end of term, once Irma has officially retired. That being said, a full inventory and accountability is due to the Headmaster and myself no later than two weeks prior to the beginning of each term. This, of course, is to ensure that we have all necessary resources available to the incoming students and if we are lacking in one area or another, there is time enough to ensure that we can fully process and receive an order of the needed supplies."
"That being said, if you are to take the position and stay on with us at the start of the new term, we will spend part of this coming summer interviewing for an assistant. The assistant would report directly to you and you would report only to the Headmaster or myself in the capacity of Deputy Headmistress. You will have equal stature to the rest of the Hogwarts staff. Irma chooses not to eat with us at the head table but, should you chose it, you and your chosen assistant would have places among us. You would have authority to give and take points from students and to assign detentions, something I'm certain that you will not take advantage of."
Hermione nodded slowly as she carefully combed through the information given. "And Harry mentioned that Madam Pomfrey would be willing to oversee the baby and my care?"
Minerva nodded, "Yes, Albus and I have spoken privately with Poppy and she is using what down time that she has this term to ensure that her midwife and pediatric certifications are fully up to date. My understanding from that conversation is that the only reason you would be required to be moved to St. Mungo's is some unexpected complication arose that she did not feel qualified or have the experience to safely deal with. That aside, you would be in good hands. If you choose, however, you are also welcome to connect your floo to St. Mungo's if you would prefer to stay with your current Healer. For security reasons that and the Burrow are the only two places that we can authorize a floo connection. Any other location would require use of the floo in the Hospital Wing or the Headmaster's office."
The young witch sat back in her seat and ran everything through once more before turning her gaze to the silent audience. Harry seemed hopeful but also seemed as though he wasn't let it show. Hermione blinked curiously before flushing lightly and quickly moving her eyes to the two ginger witches who were watching her carefully.
"It's up to you, Hermione. You know that you are always more than welcome here and you're welcome to stay here as little or as much as you wish. That being said, I agree with Harry in that this could be a very large step forward for you, your health, and that of your child." Molly said softly.
Unable to argue and unable to miss the opportunity to get broader opinions from more experienced witches, Hermione nodded before speaking tentatively, "And the investigation? How should we go about that?"
"I can reach out and see who's available in the Auror's office and see if someone is available to come by this evening," Ron offered. "They can take your statement and necessary memories and you can direct them as to where to find the original investigation reports."
"And I can speak with Catherine and see what needs to be done to turn over the records that she has from you and a statement to the DMLE and to the Prophet if you'd like," Ginny added.
"I would suggest, Hermione, that you make your move speedily. And if you choose to accept the position, it may be wise that you make that particular move sooner rather than later," Minerva suggested quietly.
"What about my flat?"
"Are you accepting?"
"Yes, I believe so. It does seem like the smartest way forward. My savings can't last me forever, especially with a baby on the way so I would need to be looking for some sort of employment anyway. What about once the baby is born though?"
"Well, you've got a couple of options there and much of it depends on your intentions," Minerva said, thoughtfully. "I am sure the invitation has already been extended so I am quite certain that Molly would be more than pleased to watch her newest grandchild while you work.
Another option, and please do not dismiss it automatically, Hermione, is to confer with the Headmaster about assigning one of the Hogwarts elves to the care of your child. Keep in mind that elves love children, especially babies. It is why so many are very pleased to be able to work at Hogwarts and care for so many children at once. To be assigned to be the sole elf to care for an infant is likely the only time you'll have the opportunity to see a multitude of house elves attempting to curry favor with a person in order to be selected since the elves at Hogwarts tend to find caring for the students to be the absolute highlight. Mind you, the elf would not be bound to you but to Hogwarts. He or she would be more of a nanny than anything else.
The final option that I can currently see available to you is to keep the child with you throughout the day. Obviously times that require your attention to the Restricted Section or the mass inventories, it would be wise for you to have alternate plans available but those two instances aside, I cannot see why this would not at very least be an option for you to be able to consider."
Hermione swallowed her excitement at the new opportunity and the anxiety over yet another sudden change and nodded before turning to the rest of the table. Gathering her courage and exhaling heavily, she squared her shoulders.
"Ron, could you get in touch with your contacts at the DMLE and see if they're willing to come by tonight? Gin, Mum would you mind getting in touch with Healer Catherine and that Daniella Landry and see if they can do the same? If they can bring everything they need for it and can all three be here at the same time it would be preferable. I would rather not have to repeat this multiple times over the next few weeks. As far as I am concerned, I'll give full access to both Landry and the DMLE if this can just go away. I'll….I'll write his sister when everything calms a bit. To see if I can't clear the air some."
Molly beamed proudly at the younger witch before the three that Hermione had addressed rose from the table to get in contact with their assigned persons. Minerva smiled warmly and rose from her chair, placing a comforting hand on the young witch's shoulder, "You are a very strong young woman, Miss Granger. I am so very proud of you. I will be returning to Hogwarts now and speak with the Headmaster. I shall let him know that you are willing to accept the position and brief him on your intentions this evening so that it does not come as a surprise to him when the article is published. I will be in contact, my dear."
Hermione stood as well and hugged the older witch tightly, "Thank you. For everything."
After Minerva excused herself and departed, Hermione found herself pulled into another from behind hug by another set of arms. A quick glance confirmed Harry's identity and she leaned comfortably back into the hug and against his chest. It wasn't until she heard a sharp intake of breath from the wizard holding onto her that she realized that both of his hands had come to rest tenderly against her rounded belly and that his hands seemed to suddenly be the current target for her baby's kicks. It was only then that she also realized that the witches in her life were the only ones, up until now, who had actually been able to feel the movement.
She looked curiously up to Harry, wondering what his reaction and thoughts were to the whole thing. As she tilted her head to look at him, however, he moved his hands to her waist and turned her gently to face him. She watched in curious awe as he moved his hands back over her belly and slowly lowered himself to his knees in front of her. His green eyes were locked firmly onto her belly and hands were soaking up the movement against him. What surprised her the most, however, was her own curious awe reflected back at her on her Harry's face.
Neither said a word for several minutes as Hermione placed her hands gently over Harry's on her belly. When the baby finally seemed to calm once more Hermione's breath caught in her chest as she watched Harry close his eyes and rest his forehead against her, hands still placed on either side of his head. She gently squeezed his hands and he got to his feet pulling her carefully back into a hug. It wasn't until Molly, Ron, and Ginny returned from speaking with their respective contacts that the two broke the hug and retook their seat.
Hermione didn't miss the curious but knowing expressions that the two witches wore upon their return. That would, hopefully, be a conversation for later though. Much later, preferably.
Author's Note:
So if you couldn't tell, it was the Daily Prophet article that was the story's cliché moment. While there are a multitude of ways that Hermione could have been pushed forward I felt that this one was the best. Because of this article, she is all but forced to face the past. By taking the investigation, and her own future by way of career, into her own hands, it gives her some of the power back. Something that tends to be a HUGE factor to many victims and survivors. To be able to be back in control after someone has taken it all away from you.
Anyway, thank you for reading! Please let me know what you think!
