It had only been a few days ago that the world was at peace and Steven was happily munching on a donut at The Big Donut. Sadie and Lars had gotten into some kind of an argument and were busy yelling at each other behind the counter. Just then, Steven heard the familiar 'ding' announcing the arrival of another customer. He turned his head towards the door and saw Connie walking towards him. "Steven! there you are." she greeted him with a smile. "Hey Connie!" he grinned. "What's up?" The girl looked excited as she took a seat beside him at the small table. "I have some really great news." she grinned widely. "Oooh! tell me, tell me!" Steven hopped up and down in his seat out of excitement. Taking a deep breath she began " My family and I are moving to Beach City! Permanently! Isn't that great?!" Steven gasped in delight. "No way! you're moving here?!" Steven's eyes shined with stars. "Yes! And that means we'll get to see each other all the time now!" Connie's enthusiasm was equal to Steven's. The two kids spent the rest of the afternoon making plans for the next few weeks. They talked at leangth about all of the things they would be able to do together now that Connie was moving closer. As the sun fell lower in the sky they made their way towards the beach, and more specifically, Steven's house. Connie had managed to gain permission to stay the night at the Temple while her parents took care of the moving arrangements. Little did they know that this would be one of their last happy days together. Somthing sinister was on the way.
