She couldn't get to them. Her memories, her motive, her reason for being here. In the darkness, the Void.

She couldn't tell if she was floating or if she was standing. She couldn't see anything. The darkness pulled at her eyes, wanting to blind them. She resisted and kept them closed. She focused on her memories, pounding on the golden wall between her and her memories. The presence seemed to hum in her mind, singing. She kept pounding and it hummed, warning her, telling her to stop. But she kept pounding. She had to remember. She had to tell someone about the darkness. It was coming.

As she pounded, the wall began to crack. Images seeped through. A woman with blonde hair, and a man with two faces.

She paused, her head tilted in an unasked question. 'Two faces?' She thought to herself. The presence hummed in her mind and images flashed through her head.

One face with ice blue eyes and short black hair, his first word to her ("Run!") and slowly falling in love.

Then he changed into a tall, gangly brown haired man. 'Rude and not ginger' she thought to herself, chuckling. The images kept coming, every adventure, every word the he said to her.

And as she was enveloped in a golden light, the wall shattered and Rose Tyler remembered.
