I truly have no excuse for this being late aside of writer's block. It has hit me hard on almost all of my current stories, and it is a very sad thing. Actually it's not even writer's as much as a lack of inspiration. Anyways I'm sorry guys. I'm trying really hard to keep everything going. It's just hard between school, summer classes, college applications (finally a senior), and just life in general. However, fanfiction has been a large part of my life for the last four years or so, and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

Now that my ramblings are done on with the chapter.

Enjoy.

"Father," Odin looked up at the sound of his youngest son's voice. Both Eisa and Loki knelt before him. "We need to speak with you. It is most urgent." It was clear from the expressions worn by the two that something had happened.

"Very well my son, what is it you wish to speak about?" Odin asked as he motioned for them to rise.

"We were wondering if-if you know anything about my true origins." Eisa said hesitantly. Her expression was grim and it was clear she had not slept well the night before.

Odin looked at them for a moment before responding with a question. "What is this about?"

"Father, were you aware that Eisa is only half Asgardian?" Loki asked with a serious expression.

Odin looked surprised, and shockingly slightly ashamed. "I feared this day. That fear was greatened when I discovered Eisa was carrying your child. It was only a matter of time before you would come. Yes, I knew. However, I pledged secrecy to Ver, as he is one of the few warriors who knew of your true origins Loki." Odin fell silent for a moment before he spoke again. "You fear for the lives of Eisa and the child do you not?"

Loki and Eisa nodded. "Yes," Loki's voice had fallen. "The child is freezing her from inside. We fear the damage that may be caused."

Eisa spoke then. "I have also discovered recently that the scar I received from that Johtun so long ago…" Eisa sighed. "I noticed it has begun to spread. I do not understand why." She looked down. "When I first noticed I did not think much of it as I had assumed my body could handle carrying the child. However, knowing I am partially of Midgard…I am afraid I will not survive giving birth."

"You seek a way to save both yourself and the child." Odin sighed. "When you and Loki were both young I knew you would eventually grow fond of one another. My suspicions were proven when Frigga had a vision, as she is gifted with foresight. I admittedly tried to prevent this knowing of both your origins, but I realize now my foolishness has only caused more conflict."

"Is there nothing that can be done?" Loki asked desperately.

"Asgardians have carried Johtun children before, though no one would be willing to admit this. Eisa inherited more of our traits than those of the Midgardians. Take Eisa to Eir. I believe if the situation is properly handled, we can increase her chances of survival, or perhaps lessen the danger almost completely. That success however, lays in the hands of our healer and the strength Eisa already possesses, both mental and physical." Odin spoke quietly, but a look of hope could be seen in his eyes. "Go now, see what she can do."

Loki and Eisa bowed once more. "Thank you father." Loki said quietly before they left the room.

"Lady Eir," Eisa called out to the healer who had just exited the infirmary.

"Lady Eisa, Prince Loki, how may I assist you?" The woman asked surprised by the approach of the two.d

"Some complications have arisen, we…" Loki paused for a moment and sighed. "As things stand Eisa will not survive carrying our child. We seek a way to change that."

"With all respect my prince; Eisa should have no trouble carrying your child. I am aware of your heritage, but it has happened before." Eir told him slightly confused.

"That is where the problem lies." Eisa spoke quietly. "We were unaware of my own heritage." Eir expression changed to complete confusion. "It appears my family harbored a secret for over a century. I am not of full Asgard blood, my mother was a Midgardian. Fasta holds no relation to me."

Eir's face betrayed her feelings. "Well, that does complicate things. Come, I shall see what I can do." She said softly as she motioned them to follow her into the infirmary.

"Now, what exactly have you been noticing?" Eir asked as she sat Eisa down.

"The only physical evidence that I can find is my scar appears to be spreading. The other problem I have been having is I have a frequent icy pain go throughout my abdomen. It has been happening even more often the further into my pregnancy I get." Eisa explained with a hand resting on her belly. Loki looked at her sadly. Eisa could tell he still blamed himself for what had happened.

"My prince," Loki was pulled from his thoughts as Eir addressed him. "I do not wish to be rude, but if I am to fully examine Eisa she is going to have to undress. I understand this would be nothing new for the two of you, but I would prefer you wait in the other room." Eisa's face flushed and even Loki looked uncomfortable as Eir said this.

Loki looked to Eir and then to Eisa who nodded. "I'll be fine Loki. Go on, I'll have someone sent to find you once Eir is done."

"As you wish." Loki said softly. He leaned down to kiss Eisa softly before leaving the room. Eisa blushed as Eir gave her a knowing look.

Loki went out to the gardens after retrieving a book from his private library. He had only been there for a short while when he was approached; however it was not by a guard who had been sent by Eisa.

"My prince," Loki looked up as Dalla's voice reached his ears. "Might I speak with you?"

Loki closed the book he was reading making sure he undid the translation spell before Dalla could read the cover. While he could read the runes he was too worried about Eisa to properly translate it himself at the moment, and the book itself held questionable content. "Of course Dalla, what is it?" He asked the older woman.

Dalla seemed to hesitate before she spoke. "Last night as I was closing shop, I had a strange visitor come in. It was not anyone I had ever seen before, and she was looking for Eisa. I told her Eisa no longer resided there, and that I did not know where she had moved to." Loki had to give the woman credit for lying in Eisa's defense. "Does…does the name Amora mean anything to you?" The moment the name left her lips Dalla saw Loki's eyes flash shock as the book fell from his hands. He stood abruptly and looked Dalla straight in the eye.

"Are you certain that is what the woman said?" Loki asked urgently. When Dalla nodded he asked, "What did she look like?"

"She was about Eisa's height and had blonde hair and green eyes. She was also wearing a green knee length dress with black tights and boots." The woman Dalla describe fit Amora's description perfectly.

"Dalla listen to me carefully. Should you see this woman again avoid conversation with her if at all possible, and if you are forced to speak with her do not say anything about Eisa." Loki turned suddenly to head back to the palace.

"Wait, who is she?" Dalla asked him.

"Exactly who she says she is." Loki said without stopping. He needed to tell his father.

"Well my lady, I believe I have found the problem." Eir said as she finished examining Eisa. "It appears a spell, or more of a curse was placed upon you womb so any cold is intensified. It has spread throughout your body and to other organs as well. However the fix is simple. A counter spell need only be cast over it."

"So after it is countered there should no longer be any danger?" Eisa asked curiously.

Eir nodded. "Yes, afterwards you should be able to carry out this pregnancy and any future pregnancies with little to no trouble. Some caution may need to be taken when you give birth due to your mixed heritage, but there should be no life threatening complications. I however do not have the power to counter this particular curse. You will need to gain approval from King Odin to have Prince Loki perform the counter. It requires a great amount of magic."

Eisa nodded. "I understand, thank you Eir. Shall I send for Loki or am I free to search for him myself."

Eir smiled at her. "You may look for him on your own my lady. Just take care of yourself and make sure that counter is performed."

"I know, and thank you once more." Eisa replied before exiting the room to go search for her lover.

Eisa went out to the gardens to search for Loki knowing that was where he had most likely gone. However, he was nowhere in sight, and under the tree where he usually read was a book that Eisa recognized oh too well. "Oh Loki," She muttered to herself. "I thought you had stopped."

"Once one delves into the darkness it is often times too hard for them to leave." Eisa jumped nearly dropping the book as a vaguely familiar voice came to her ears. She swiftly turned around only to gasp at the woman in front of her.

"No, you cannot be real." Eisa said taking a step back. "You were banished for eternity."

"Oh please dear Eisa. You know as well as I that there is more than one entrance to Asgard. Or has your memory dulled over the years?" Amora's sarcastic voice was filled with malice and Eisa was completely on edge. "I see the rumors I heard were true, you really are with child. What of the father though, were those rumors true as well? I wonder…" Amora walked towards Eisa who backed away until she hit the tree behind her. Her hands glowed with fire magic. "Now Eisa, that's no way to treat an old friend." Amora hissed holding out her hand.

Despite the pendent around her neck Eisa felt her powers leave her in a painful rush. Crying out she fell to her knees and Amora kneeled down beside her. "I wonder how he would react, finding you dead here in the garden?" Amora traced an artery in Eisa's neck with her finger. "His child still in your belly." Her other hand set one her abdomen.

"All this time and you are still after Loki." Eisa stuttered out pulling from her touch. "What could he have possibly done for you to bore so much malice for him?"

"What did he do? He…"

"Amora!" A voice shouted as said woman was pulled away from Eisa. "What are you doing here?"

"Hello Loki." The woman said standing to glare at the dark prince. "I was simply catching up with an old friend, nothing more. I'll be going now."

Loki moved forward to stop her but suddenly she was gone, as though she had vanished. "Damn it…" He muttered before hurrying over to Eisa. "Are you alright?" He asked cupping her face. "This should not be happening, if only I had my full power…"

Eisa's hands shook as she spoke. "I cannot feel my magic. Not at all, as though the power was taken from me."

Loki moved his hands over Eisa's body before sighing in relief. "It is only a seal; it shall wear off in a few hours." Loki told her.

Eisa nodded before embracing Loki and hiding her face in his chest. "I was so scared Loki." She admitted as she felt tears start down her face. "Amora was never supposed to be able to return to Asgard, and now that she is here I fear…" Eisa took a shaky breath. "Things were already complicated, and now this has happened. She wants me dead Loki, both me and our child." Eisa said holding her stomach.

"Nothing will happen to you, I promise. Come; let us return to our chambers. I believe we have much to discuss." Loki told her helping her to stand before leading her back to the palace.

Odin was incredibly disconcerted. As great of a sorceress as Amora had proved to be he did not believe she would be able to reenter Asgard, and was quite skeptical when Loki had approached him with the information given by Dalla. However, now there was proof that she had. A passing guard caught sight of the events that had taken place in the garden and immediately reported them. Eisa was in danger, and in her condition there was no way for her to fully protect herself. Loki on the other hand was still undergoing his punishment. To release his magic now…but perhaps that was the best course of action. The little magic Loki currently had access to was just enough for him to keep his Asgardian appearance and perform minor spells for Eisa's sake. Not nearly enough for protection. Sighing Odin called for a guard to summon his son and soon to be daughter. He had spoken with his court and advisors. The rest was up to them.

"Loki, how is it that Amora has returned? Surely Heimdall would have seen her." Eisa spoke once they had returned to their chambers.

Loki sighed setting a hand against his face. "I believe you know the answer to that as well as I Eisa." Loki told her before going to one of his book shelves to search for something.

Eisa bit her lip and looked down. "The Black Mountain's passage." She muttered.

"Yes, it is the only known way around the nine realms that Heimdall cannot see." Loki pulled a book off the shelf and opened it. Eisa recognized it as the book they had used for notes back when they studied the dark arts.

"You still have that?" Eisa asked him. Loki looked over at her and then down rather guiltily. Eisa sighed. "I found your book in the garden Loki; I know you did not stop."

"Eisa I…"

"Don't make an excuse for yourself Loki. It will not work." Eisa looked away from him. "I cannot stop you Loki, nor do I truly wish to. I only ask that you not hide things from me."

Loki walked over to her and nodded. "I understand, I am sorry Eisa."

Eisa smiled. "It is alright. Now, before you go looking for answers in that I have something else to tell you." Eisa said pulling Loki to sit beside her. "Lady Eir found a solution to our problem. It seems Laufey cast a curse over me and it is spreading. According to Eir if a counter is cast then my pregnancy should be perfectly safe, and…" Eisa turned slightly red. "And any future pregnancies as well."

Loki looked at her and actually smiled before wrapping his arms around her. "That is wonderful news Eisa. Something I truly needed to hear."

"Yes, however there is one catch. We need to speak to your father. It seems it is a curse only you have the power to counter." Eisa told him slowly.

Loki however did not seem fazed by this. "I see no reason as to why he would not agree to this Eisa. We will have the curse countered."

Just as Loki finished saying this there was a knock at the door. "Prince Loki, Lady Eisa, the king has summoned you." A guard's voice stated from the other side.

Eisa and Loki looked to one another before standing to head to the throne room.

"You called for us father?" Loki asked once they were in the throne room.

"Yes, a guard informed me of a troubling scene he caught sight of in the gardens earlier today, one that involved you and Eisa, and the enchantress Amora." Odin said and the two looked at him surprised.

"We had actually been planning to come speak with you about that, along with something else later today. However, I suppose now is as good a time as any." Eisa spoke softly.

"Indeed." Odin replied. "So after holding a meeting with my court and talking it over with my advisors I have made a decision about the current situation. It is clear that you and Eisa are in danger, and in her current condition Eisa is unable to fully protect herself, nor can you protect her as your powers are sealed. After much debate I have decided to release your powers for the time being so that you may be able to protect both Eisa and yourself." Odin's expression turned stern. "However, understand that should you misuse your powers in any way they will be resealed for an indefinite amount of time, and Eisa will be put under the care of someone else."

Loki nodded immediately. "I understand."

Odin's mouth curved upwards. "Good, in that case…" He held out his hand and they bracelet keeping a lid on Loki's powers fell off. "I release you from your seal. Now, I believe you said there was something else you wished to speak to me about."

"That will not be necessary any longer father." Loki told him. "We were going to request that you briefly unseal my powers so that I could perform a counter curse on Eisa. Lady Eir found the cause of her complications to be a curse cast Laufey."

"I see. Well then I suggest you go and perform the counter then, seeing as you are now free to access your magic again."

Loki nodded. "Yes father." He said before turning to leave. Eisa bowed briefly before following after him.

Later that night Eisa found herself lying back on the bed she and Loki shared as he prepared to perform the counter that would heal her. After looking over her and locating the source of the magic, he had gone over to his potions area and returned with a bluish one. "Here, drink this."

"What is it?" Eisa asked eyeing the liquid distastefully. While she enjoyed making potions actually drinking them was another story.

"Something to keep you relaxed. Counter curses have the tendency to make one jolt and jerk if their muscles aren't totally relaxed." Loki said pushing the vial into her hand. "Now drink it."

"This is going to make me lose the ability to move my body is it not?" Eisa asked annoyed.

Loki smirked. "Yes, it is. Just trust me Eisa."

Said girl sighed before replying. "I do Loki. Believe me if I didn't I would not still be here." With that she drank it as quickly as she could trying to ignore the horrid taste of it. Almost instantly she felt it begin to take effect as she fell limply back on the mattress. "I do not like this."

"It will wear off in an hour Eisa. Try to deal until then." As soon as he was done speaking Eisa felt a great force of magic hit her and knew if she could still move her body she would have jolted forward from the mere force of it. The amount of power she felt coursing through her was nearly unbearable, and then it suddenly stopped.

"Is that all?" She asked him sluggishly realizing her energy felt completely drained.

"Yes," He said setting a hand on her forehead. "Now sleep Eisa. You need it."

"Yeah," She murmured. "Sleep," Then she drifted off.

And there's on threat that's taken care of, so yay for that.
