Minerva sat in the staff room sorting through her Transfiguration assignments and making a plan to get them graded. Several of the other professors sat around and eyed her appearance curiously but said nothing. The provocative muggle suit raised some eyebrows but the staff remained silent. James and Sirius were standing near the corner under the death cloak. She forced herself to remain still as the door slammed opened and Albus entered the room angrily.
"What's the meaning of this Minerva?" he asked, his outrage noticable in his tone.
Minerva slowly laid her quill down and made a show of removing her glasses. She looked his way and simply asked, "The meaning of what exactly Albus?"
The wizard growled in frustration before retorting, "You have the elves spying on me and removing my personal belongings."
Minerva frowned at that before glaring at him. "You must be mistaking Albus," she answered with more patience than she thought was possible. "I have Pops removing all Hogwarts possessions from your personal items. Hogwarts will be keeping its property as long as I remain her Headmistress."
Gasps of suprise sounded throughout the room as the staff looked at Minerva in suprise. No announcement has been made regarding the staffing change yet. "You have been working against me," he accused her furiously. "You have changed since your betrothal."
Minerva stood up angrily and felt an icy bolt strengthen her resolve. "You mean I have finally opened my eyes and saw you for what you are?" she retorted. "The handfasting gifted me with incredible use of founder knowledge and magic. It also gifted me with a connection to Harry's ancestors." She held up her betrothal ring in line of his sight. "The Peverell betrothal ring has been yearning for a fight with you and I am happy to oblige it."
Albus grabbed his wand quickly and cast at Minerva before she had the opportunity to grab her wand. She calmly held her hand in front of her and expanded her magic as Death had asked of her before. Blood red and black energy surrounded her and moved outward to place a shield to protect the other staff and block Albus' view of her. "Fight fair Minerva," mocked Albus.
"Like you do," she scoffed angrily. "You cast before I managed to grab my wand. The memory charms are gone Albus. I remember everything, every single disgusting moment, you miserable bastard." She grabbed her wand and sent a stinging hex towards him. "Every single misdeed will be known Albus!"
"I'm sure you are mistaking Minerva," he answered back in his grandfatherly tone. "You have had so many changes happen in the past year. It's easy to get confused with so much change happening so quickly."
Minerva laughed at Albus before sending a cutting hex towards him. She smiled vindictively as it seared across his cheek. "Poppy has had her memory charms removed as well," she informed him. "Soon the Wizengamot will know what a miserable rapist you are. They will also learn of your attempted poisoning of me."
Gasps of horror errupted from the staff. They knew Minerva and Poppy had been memory charmed but they hadn't been aware what the actual memories hidden away were of. "I did no such thing," he proclaimed as he sent a powerful cutting hex at her. It caught her on her chest, tearing her top button open. Her ample cleavage was revealed more.
Minerva chuckled coldly at Albus before she banished the shield surrounding her from view. She allowed the magic to twist and curl around her. Her muggle suit swirled with magic and then sparkled brightly with blood red light. It shined brighter before fading from view. Her outfit seemingly melted leaving her in a tight black and blood red Basilisk hide jumpsuit.
Albus looked at her in awe as he attempted to slowly back out of the room. "Tsk, tsk Albus," Minerva offered, her tone chillingly. "Now that's no way to treat a lady," she mocked him. "You shall not withdraw from this fight just yet." She held her hand and allowed a strand of dark energy rush from her and wrap around his wand. "Come to me," she whispered to the wand and she felt it rush to her. A rush of magnificent blood red sparks errupted from it and a surge of happiness manifested in her. The wand was happy to return to its rightful master or rather it's master's soulmate.
"You don't realize the power that wand holds Minerva," Albus said as he saw the cold look she directed his way. "It will comsume you," he warned. "It shall turn you evil."
Minerva gave him a look before placing the wand in her jumpsuit sleeve. She slowly advanced on him until she had him backed into a wall. "If you interfere with me or mine again, I shall end you," she promised then turned her back on him attempting to reign in her emotions. She grew tired of this meaningless argument.
"Never turn your back on your opponent," Albus said as he swung at her.
Minerva dropped to her knee and quickly kicked his legs out from underneath him with her other leg. He fell on his backside suprised. Wasting no time, she punched him and smiled in grim satisfaction as she heard his nose crunch loudly. Blood poured from his broken nose painting his long beard red. Minerva stood up gracefully before calling for Pops. "Get this bastard out of my castle," she demanded. She gave Albus a hard look before adding, "You better heed my words. I will not be so forgiving next time." A pop sounded and then Albus was gone from the room.
Minerva focused her energy and called her magic back to her. She allowed it to swirl around her. It spinned faster and faster before it flashed out of existence but left her unchanged. She dropped to her knees as her exhaustion took over. "Sirius," she called. He flung the cloak off of him and James and rushed to her side. "Go fetch Harry for me. I can't control the founder's magic at the moment. Hogwarts' wards, the founder's magic and the wand have exhausted me."
"Heather," James cried quickly. The elf popped in front of him immediately. "Tell Mother that Minerva has been weakened by her magical increase and to bring Harry to the gates. Sirius will be waiting on her."
"Take Min to her chambers," Sirius said as he headed out the door. "I will bring Harry to her."
"Come on Minerva," James coaxed as he helped her stand. She collapsed again and he merely swept her up in his arms. "Let's get you settled before Harry arrives," James said and then looked towards Poppy Pomfrey. "You coming Poppy? I would certainly feel better if Minerva received a check up."
The remaining staff watched silently as Poppy followed James Potter and Minerva out of the room. "What the bloody hell was that?" Rolanda Hooch asked loudly.
"I'm unsure," Filius Flitwick commented. "She was magnificent though. She turned her outfit into a Basilisk hide jumpsuit. Do you realize how improbable that should be?"
"The line of Morgan Ley Fey, the Heart of the Champion of Death, shall stop the Light's Dark Lord and bring forth a time of reckoning like none have witnessed before. The Heart will bring forth an enlightening in the Old Ways and will bring forth the next generation of exceptional wizards and witches. Shall the Light's Dark Lord band together with the most Dark Lord go unchecked, Magical Britain will collapse in a world of agony and pain. Shall the Heart stand unyielding and protect the Champion on All Hallows Eve, a time of cleansing shall come. Shall the Heart fail, there will be horrors untold," said an eery feminine voice.
Rolanda, Filius and Pomona Sprout looked at Sybill Trelawney in suprise. She coughed before her eyes became focused again. "Are you alright Sybill?" Pomona asked.
"Yes," she croaked. "I must of fallen asleep again."
"That tends to happen when one consumes too much cooking sherry," Rolanda replied and gave the others a look to hold their tongue. Sybill left the room with a glare at Hooch.
"Minerva's the Heart?" Pomona guessed.
"She has to be," Filius said. "Death's Champion is Harry."
"Light's Dark Lord means Albus no doubt," Hooch added. "That was the fabled Elder Wand, wasn't it?"
"I thought it was a myth," Filius breathed. "The Peverell betrothal rings appeared on Minerva and Harry. Merlin, we all have seen James' cloak of invisibility. It has to be the Elder Wand. Albus had that wand since he defeated Grindelwald, remember? He must of won it from him."
"Do we tell anyone?" Pomona asked, worry etched on her face.
"Not yet," Filius answered. "We become Minerva's biggest supporters. We work behind the scenes to do whatever she needs us to do."
"Agreed," the witches replied without hesitation. Minerva would be helped regardless if she knew it or not. They would not stand by and watch her fail!
