I don't own Glee and all mistake are my own.
Jake's POV
When the front door slammed signalling that Puck was home, I was in my room finishing off some homework. It didn't take long before there was a knock on my bedroom door.
"Jake, can I come in?" Puck's voice called on the other side of the door.
"Yep." I called instantly.
He came in and instantly went to sit on my bed. I turned to face him in my swivel chair. "What's up?" I asked.
"Just wanted to check that everything's cool with me being the coach of Glee club until Schue comes back. I didn't speak to you about it before and it was just sprung on you."
"Of course I'm alright with it. I think it's pretty cool that you're going to be sticking around. I've missed you." I confessed.
"Missed you too little brother." Puck said instantly. "So everything's cool?" he asked.
"Of course it is." I said without hesitation.
"Awesome. Thanks bud." He stood and clapped my shoulder with his hand in appreciation. "Ma's out tonight so I'm going to cook dinner for us tonight."
I grimaced. "Shall I just call for take-out now and save the inevitable?" I teased.
He shoved my shoulder playfully. "Oi, don't sass your brother. I'll have you know I've got much better at cooking."
"We'll see." I said simply before turning back and going back to my homework.
Marley's POV
The next day, as usual, I was sat with Blaine, Sam and Matthew at lunch time. I had got used to sitting with the boys and I enjoyed being with them. However, this time we were joined by Jake, Ryder and Kitty.
"We've been taken over by freshman." Sam muttered to his best friend. Blaine sniggered but just as I was opening to my mouth to suggest that we go and sit somewhere else, Blaine looked at me and shook his head as if he knew it was coming.
"You love it, Sam. We help so people know you're not losers." Kitty teased.
"Watch it Fabray." Sam barked back good naturedly.
I turned to Jake as everyone began to talk around us. "I think we should try and get my sister and your brother together." I said, immediately cutting to the chance.
"Why?" Jake asked.
I rolled my eyes. "Because Rachel and Puck like each other." I said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"How do you know?" Jake asked, looking a little nervous.
I sighed. "Rachel likes Puck and I've got a pretty good inkling that the feelings are reciprocated."
"Your sister still likes Puck?" Jake wondered. I nodded and Jakes eyes went wide. "I'll be back." Jake said quickly before running off.
"Jake!" I called after him but it was no use; he was gone.
"Is everyone ok?" Matthew asked from the other side of me.
I turned to him. "Yeah of course." I answered truthfully.
"Is there anything going on with you and Jake?" Matthew asked.
I shook my head. "No. He's just a good friend." I said honestly.
"So you'd have no problem with someone else asking you out." He asked, a smirk on his lips and a glint in his eye.
I could help the blush that came to my cheeks. I'd liked Matthew more and more over the course of getting to know him and being his friend and having the chance to talk to him during our lunch period was sometimes the best part of my day. That doesn't mean I wouldn't have minded someone else though. "Who would that be?" I asked coyly, trying to be cute but probably failing.
"Me." Matthew said. "Go out with me?" he asked.
My smile grew even wider. "I'd love to go out with you."
Matthew smiled too. "You're still going to New York this weekend, aren't you?" he wondered.
I nodded. "Leaving tonight and I won't be back until Sunday evening."
"Not a problem. Do you think your dads will be ok with you going to the Lima Bean after school on Monday?" he asked, quick on his feet to think of a solution.
"I don't think they'd mind at all." I said, getting giddy over the prospect of going on a date with Matthew.
He smiled happily. "Awesome. I can't wait." He said before our attention was taken away from each other by Kitty calling our names.
Puck's POV
I was just filing some sheet music ready for my first official day without Will (It was still weird to call him but he'd insisted) on Monday when Jake came running into the room. He had a panicked look on his face.
"Woah, little bro, what's up?" I asked when he'd come to a stop.
"Marley just told me something and I couldn't wait till later to tell you." Jake told me, puffing as he tried to get his breath back.
"Ok, so what is it?" I asked.
"Rachel likes you. As in, she likes you, likes you." Jake informed me.
I began to laugh. "Stop kidding J. Why in the hell would she be interested in me?" I asked.
"Puck; Marley told me that Rachel likes you. Rachel and Marley tell each other everything so why would she lie to me about that?" Jake asked. I shrugged and Jake sighed deeply. "She literally just turned to me at lunch and said that we should team up and try to get you and Rachel together because Rachel still likes you."
I thought about it and tried to digest everything that my little brother was saying to me. There was no way that Jake would tell me this as a joke. He wouldn't lie to me about something like this. #
"She does?" I asked dumbly.
"From what Marley's been telling me. You've got to tell her how you feel." Jake urged.
The thought terrified me and being terrified wasn't something I was used too. "That's a big ask bro."
Jake sighed yet again. "Puck; for someone who's so self-confident you suck at telling girls you like them." He laughed.
"I suck at telling girls that I'm sort of in love with that I like them." I pointed out.
"You'll tell her won't you?" Jake asked.
"How am I meant to do that? She's in New York and I am here for the foreseeable future." I pointed out.
"Weekends exist. You don't work seven days a week." Jake said. "Puck, you deserve to be happy and I think Rachel is the person to make you happy."
I thought about it. "I'll call her this weekend first. I don't want to just turn up and surprise her. She'd hate that." I decided.
Jake nodded and was about to leave the room. He seemed to remember something and stopped and turned back.
"Her dads and Marley are going up this weekend so just be aware of that." He said before leaving the room.
I'm going to get Rachel back…finally.
