Chapter 6

Maddie, Kelly, Abby and Ziva finally parted ways after they had talked for a couple of hours in a nice little cafe not far from the cinema and since the childhood friends had parked their cars right next to each other they could talk some more on their way to their respective cars. "I'm very curious to know more about your love life, because don't you it's only fair that you share everything with me on that topic too?" Kelly said and anxiously waited for her best friend to reply, of course somehow having the feeling that Maddie also had someone special on her mind right now. Maddie hesitated for a while with her answer before she finally said: "Yeah there's actually someone if been seeing for a short time, his name is Mark and the best thing about him is his athletic body because his six pack he got looks so hot." Gibbs daughter couldn't help but keep grinning at her childhood friend and of course she was happy for her.

As the two girls had reached their respective cars Maddie couldn't help but ask her long time good friend: "Do you think that you and Tim will ever be something more than just friends?" Of course Kelly didn't like it one bit to be put on the spot like that, because answering this question wasn't easy one bit but she had to admit: One way or another she had to deal with it, even if that was easier said than done in the end. One part of this whole equation made things very complicated, regarding a relationship that could develop between her and Tim: Her overprotective Dad. She knew her dad well enough to know in advance, that he would want to have a say when it came to choose who was good enough to be her boyfriend because for him she would probably stay his little girl forever. Finally she sighed loudly and said: "Honestly I don't know, but Tim is definitely kind of cute in my opinion and I hope that he feels the same way for me that I do for him."

"I know why you're hesitating so much in this case: Your Dad, you are afraid that he might be against the fact that you want to date one of the man that works for him." Maddie said and Kelly knew that her childhood friend had nailed the nail right on the head. Of course she wished that she would be able to give her good friend some advice in this delicate situation but unfortunately she hadn't anything useful to offer right now. Before they finally got into their cars Kelly said: "Maybe I should wait a little more and see how things are developing between me and Tim, because I don't want to rush anything just yet."

"I agree Kells and I'll call you tomorrow after work okay?" Kelly's long time friend replied and Gibbs daughter just nodded in response and after the two had hugged each other they drove away in their cars. Kelly couldn't help but yawn a little as she had reached the highway that would directly lead her back home a few minutes later and she was very sure that she wanted to repeat the girls' night in the future because she did have a lot of fun tonight.

She shortly rubbed her eyes trying her very best to get rid of the tiredness, because she knew that all her focus needed to be on the highway traffic. But of course her thoughts also got a little side tracked from time to time, as she couldn't help but think about a possible relationship with Tim Mc Gee even if she still didn't how he exactly felt about her. For a moment she put those thoughts to rest as she wondered how the date of her Dad and Hollis had went so far, she was pretty sure that they did have a great evening even if he did maybe run out of practice a little bit after four unhappy marriages in a row.

Meanwhile Tim had to do some late shopping this evening, because he had realized very late that he was out of Milk for his breakfast cereal and so he had to get into the car one last time today even if he just wanted to rest on the couch in his living room and watch some TV for the rest of the evening. The time consuming Job at NCIS certainly made it not so easy to organize the groceries shopping but Tim loved the job no matter how much it exhausted him sometimes.

Back at Jethro Gibbs residence, Jethro and Hollis had finished the delicious dinner and were now sitting on the couch watching some TV. His right hand was placed on the waist of his girlfriend and he really enjoyed the closeness to this woman. It had been such a long time ago that he had felt this happy in a relationship, he never imagined that another woman would enter into his life that reminded so much of the happy times that he had with Shannon. Of course no one could replace her, she would have a special place in his heart forever but he was sure of one thing: She would have approved of Hollis as a mother for Kelly and he was happy that Hollis and Kelly seemed to get along very well.

Their finally was a commercial break and for a while Gibbs and Hollis just sat there in silence, until he decided to tickle his girlfriend and anxiously waited for her reaction to that little tickle attack. It took some time but then Hollis couldn't stop laughing and Gibbs took as a cue to intensify his tickle attack some more until she lay down on the couch and he hovered over her and there were also now some tears out of pure joy.

Kelly meanwhile had almost reached the exit of the highway that would take her on the last small part of the drive home, but what she did not see yet was that a ghost driver was a lot of alcohol in his blood had drove onto the highway and had already caused some heavy accidents. As she tried to avoid the crash with ghost driver, it was too late to do anything against it and so the other car crashed into hers with full-force.
