What we did was unexpected, but when it came to the man sitting next to me I had learned to never expect the expected. So I hadn't aloud my brain to wander to the future as he led me away from my mothers home and to a black truck parked across the street.

It was around three in the afternoon, so it was really to early for any 'night' activities, but Ferb had already formed a plan in that bright green head of his.

We didn't do anything spectacular. We did something we used to always do. He drove me to one of my favorite ice cream places, got two sundaes to go, and then drove us to the parking lot of the downtown park where we sat and talked. We didn't get out of the air-conditioned truck, we were tucked safely away from prying eyes by the tinted windows and our voices were safe from sharp ears by the heavy doors. It was much like it had been in our teens. It didn't matter that we hadn't talked in so many years, we fell back into our comfortable friendship that I was afraid I'd never know again. We talked long after our sundaes were devoured and I quickly lost track of time as I listened to the lull of his accented voice as he told of what had happened since I had left.

"So eventually I convinced Candace that yes, you can in fact allow your kids to play with blocks without them also having to use power tools." He finished one of his many stories as I sat with my back on the door and my eyes fixed on him.

"Did she ever say why she thought that in the first place?" I asked as a smile blossomed on my lips. Candace would of course be afraid her twin boys would end up like her own brothers.

Ferb shook his head as a chuckle escaped his lips. "No, but I have some guesses it could have some to with me and Phi-" His words were cut off as his head snapped to me. Worry was written on his face and in his eyes. I knew he was worried to how I'd react to the mention of his step-brother, who had been a topic he had been carefully avoiding.

I let out a mental sigh. I knew eventually Phineas would be brought up.

"It's OK Ferb, you can say his name." I said to reassure him, but his body still seemed tense. We sat in silence for a few moments, neither of us knowing where to go or what to say.

"How has he been? Since… well, you know. Since I left." I asked, quietly watching him.

It took a moment of what seemed to be an inner battle for him before he finally spoke.

"I honestly don't know, to tell you the truth. I haven't to talked to him in a long time. I know he has two kids." He quickly glanced at me, "Both are with Addyson. He has his own construction company. That's really all I know about him though."

"Oh.." Was all I could say to reply. It didn't bug me that Addyson had Phineas. They deserved each other. It bugged me to think that I had split up the famous duo. That it was because of me that Ferb knew so little about Phineas. Ferbs deep voice broke off my thoughts.

"I have something I want to show you. Do you think your manager would mind if I kept you for a bit longer?"

"I don't think she'll mind, though I should probably call her. She practically had a fit in the limo when I didn't go to the hotel with her."

I quickly pulled out my phone, shocked to see it was already fie thirty. I had forgotten how easily Ferb could put me in a peaceful trance.

Not surprisingly I had multiple missed calls and a number of text messages, all from the same crazy woman who was in charge of my life. I began to dial her number before I realized if I called she'd have a greater chance at lecturing me into ditching Ferb, but I wasn't ready for that. Instead I sent her a text, something that's once she got I knew she'd be pissed about. I kept it short and simple:

'With Ferb, going to be out late. Sorry I just remembered to update you. Don't wait up

-Iz'

I then turned my phone off and glanced at Ferb.

"All done!" I said with one of my biggest smiles. He raised his eyebrows.

"That's it? Shouldn't we wait for a reply?"

"No, I mean if we do she'll tell me I cant go because of the movie interviews tomorrow. I don't really want that to happen, but we can wait if you want to?" I shot him a questioning look, to which he responded with a mock thoughtful one.

"I wouldn't care much for that, so I think I'll start driving before she can persuade you to leave me in favor of your glamorous life." I couldn't help but laugh at the way he replied.

"Good choice." I sad as I placed my phone in the glove box. "Now, where are we headed to?" My heart fluttered at the mysterious glint in his eyes and the smirk that formed on his lips.

"That is a surprise." He said as he put the truck in drive and pulled out of the parking lot.

We were just pass the park, Timothy and Jane asleep in their car seats in the back. Addyson and I sitting in a comfortable silence in the front when the truck pulled out in front of us. I quickly jerked the wheel to the right to avoid the collision as Addy let out a quick gasp.
