-Isabella-
Never in my life had I saw something so beautiful. The house was newer than the one Ferb and I had discovered so long ago, but it looked just the same.
It was a two story log cabin, with windows whose pains were painted navy, the same as the front door. The yard was miraculously taken care of, with white rose bushes under two of the large front windows. It was how Ferb and I had pictured it would have looked when the house was first built.
I couldn't breathe. I felt like I was dreaming. I slowly side stepped the truck door and made my way up the stone walkway. I stopped briefly as I smelled the roses, then I placed myself in front of the door, staring at the silver handle I had fought Ferb over for a whole day. He thought the handle would've been made of gold. I stopped as I realized this wasn't the house I had found those years ago. This was Ferbs house I was about to barge into. I jumped when one of his fell on top of my small ones.
"Bella, I must unlock the door. Then you can explore however much of it you'd like." I stepped back and watched as he produced a card and waved it in front of the door handle. His movements produced a soft click, then he stepped aside and made a dramatic gesture of welcome.
I couldn't break the trance I was placed under once I saw this house. I stepped inside to what I knew would be a hallway with a doorway to my left, stairs in front beyond that, a door at the end of the hallway, and two doors on the right. The hallway was pail grey with a dark oak flooring and beautiful scenic paintings. I felt Ferb graze past me as I stood in the door.
"Herse the kitchen, when you're done you may join me. Don't rush though." He whispered before disappearing into the door to my left.
I first entered into the first door on the right. It was a study, with floor to ceiling book shelves on three of the four walls. On the fourth wall was set a window overlooking the side of the house where a big window was set. A big desk sat in front of the window, with two leather arm chairs placed on an Indian rug in front. Blue prints were littered across the desk. I glanced over them. Some depicted water parks, some had skyscrapers and others were simply parks. I turned and looked at the books, many were just about architecture. My eyes fell on one, an old book with leather bindings. It had been mine before I left.
- Flash Back -
I slammed the car door as I through my bag in the back seat. This wasn't how I had always pictured my 18th birthday. I hadn't wanted to fight with my mom, I hadn't thought I would be leaving home. I had fought with my mom though, and currently I was screeching out of the drive way of the home I've always known. I didn't know where I was going, but I knew I could no longer live across the street from my night mare. I could no longer sleep in the room that had been my prison.
I drove not knowing where I was going, but somehow I ended up at the bottom of the old house Ferb and I had discovered so long ago. Back when I was happy.
I parked my little pink car at the bottom of the drive where no one would see it. I grabbed my over the shoulder bag from the back seat and made the half mile trek up to the abandoned house. Half way up a warm rain began to sprinkle from the sky, by the time I made it three fourths of the way the not so pleasant drizzle became an even more unpleasant down pore. I ran the remaining way, but by the time I entered the house I was already soaking wet. I quickly made my way up the stairs and entered one of the two doors there. I entered the master bedroom and quickly ripped off my soaked skinny jeans and shirt. The room I was in was one of the two rooms Ferb and I had managed to make livable. It had a queen sized bed that wed salvaged from someone's front yard and an old chair sitting in front of the window.
Although Ferb was able to, the house didn't have electricity. He said it would make us less noticeable if we just used candles.
Ferb.
He had done so much for me and yet I was leaving without telling him good bye. I couldn't tell him goodbye though, he'd ask where I was going and I don't have an answer. He'd tell me to stay, that I need to and that this is my home. He'd be wrong though, Danville isn't my home. It stopped being my home the day Phineas turned into my monster. It would break me hearing him say that though, it hurts me now knowing that he'll be broken when my mom tells him of our fight.
I light some candle and place them on the old night stand. I then lay my wet clothes over the chair. I contemplate reading, but I'm so tired that I simply lay on the green comforter and let the pouring rain lull me to sleep.
I awake sometime later to the sound of a car screeching to a halt. My head shoots up and I roll out of the bed still tangled in the sheets. I run to the window to see a man with green hair running towards the house. I quickly grab my clothes from the chair. I've barely got my legs through the first hole in my jeans before I hear the door downstairs slam open. I rush to put the other leg through as I hear him rushing up the steps. The doors swings open as I button my pants. I still don't have my shirt on, and there was Ferb in the door way.
"Isabella!" Ferb says. He starts to walk towards me but freezes when he realizes I've only got a tan bra and skinny jeans on. He stands motionless for a moment then he turns around. I take that as my cue to pull my shirt one.
"Ferb, why are you here?" I say.
"Why are you leaving, why didn't you talk to me about this?" He turns and looks at me. I can see him breaking.
"I have to leave. I have nothing here, everyone hates me and I keep hurting you."
"Isabella you leaving will hurt me. Nothing you do here will hurt me as much as that."
"Ferb I know about you getting excepted into Lincon College. I know about the full ride and I know you aren't going because you don't want to leave me alone. I already ruined your high school years, I'm not going to be the reason why you give up on your future." I could feel tears building up in my eyes. I watch as the shock settles on his face. He quietly walks towards me.
"Bella I want to stay here. I want to go to DSC. Don't feel responsible for my decisions."
"Ferb you've wanted Lincon since were eight! It's your moms' college, you've got in and now you won't go unless I make you. Please just let me go so you can be free."
"Bella, I. I can't let you go." He grabs my elbows and looks into my eyes.
"Why not, Ferb?" I stare into his blue orbs. My skin begins to prickle as he bites his lower lip. "Ferb, why can't you let me go?"
For a moment I worry he won't answer me, then he softly whispers "Because I care for you to much Bella."
My heart jumps and I don't know why. I stare at him, trying to see the meaning behind his words. "Ferb," I begin but I'm cut off by his lips falling on mine.
Never had I tasted something so sweet and warm. I raise my arms to wrap around his neck as his hands move to my waist. He was so warm and gentle yet he felt so strong. In the kiss I could feel laughter and happiness. I could feel summer.
Summer.
The one word that knocked me back to reality. Summer had been Phineas. My first kiss had gone to Phineas and he had been summer and fun to me for so long. He had turned on me though, he had broken me.
I quickly broke the kiss and rushed to the door, grabbing my bag on the way.
"Bella?" I turned to look at Ferb, the hurt was evident in his eyes. My mind continued to race with images of Phineas. I ran down the stairs, stopping briefly in the door way. I was half way across the yard before his voice caught me again.
"Isabella please, no one's going to hate you. Everyone will know he lied to them soon. I came to tell you that she's pregnant." I turn and look at him standing in the door frame. He looks beaten.
"They'll always hate me Ferb!" I yell back. "Don't follow me, I need to be alone."
-End Flash back-
He hadn't followed me. I had driven till my car gave up, then I got in contact with a friend who got me a job that led to a job that got me into acting.
I pause at the bottom of the stairs, unsure if I should go to the kitchen or to the room where I decided my and Ferbs fate.
