Is it true? Did I, the person who does own Fairy Tail, update? Whaaaaaa?
As the guilds awoke to the lovely morning, there was one person already awake and ready to tackle the day.
Mirajane shuffled around the Fairy Tail kitchen, prepping for the day.
She hummed a sweet tune, and pranced around the counter. Her first order of business was the booze. The number one most ordered item.
As she finished checking the stock, she heard the guild doors open. Coming out of the kitchen, she found it was none other than Markov.
At the same time, people who were staying in rooms inside Fairy Tail also lumbered their way down. Soon the guild was filling up, getting noisier by the minute.
And as Cana finally made her way into Fairy Tail, the guild got quiet in anticipation.
She arched her eyebrow before speaking, "I know I said I would read, but you guys must be bonkers to think I'd start reading as soon as I came in. First, I need a barrel of some nice, cold booze!"
People sighed before continuing in the wait.
Finally, the reader was full of her drink and she made her way to the stage. "Ahem," she said, "I'm starting now so either you get to hear it or you miss it. I wait for no one."
And so the story continued.
Previously: (Lucy)
As she noticed Gajeel round the corner, she grinned, happy their plan worker. Well, until she realized she was being chased by a powered up Gajeel.
She hid behind objects so Gajeel wouldn't notice her and maybe run past her.
It was only until she felt someone sneak up behind her that she felt fear. "Oh no! Levy!" she thought.
(Levy)
If Gajeel got in her, he could anything and be powered up. But as she peeked through the windows, she sighed in relief when she got a glimpse of Natsu's hair. She was safe, for now.
That is, until she realized-
(Mirajane and Yukino)
There's a chance someone already knows where we are, so now we need to try to find other Fairy Tail members and prepare for a confrontation. I think we have about five minutes before the person notices we left, so split up and meet back here with any members you find."
Yukino, Mirajane, and Reedus nodded with understanding and ran in opposite directions.
What Erza failed to account for, was lighting body, or Laxus' ability to turn into lighting and teleport.
Lucy felt an iron grip land on her shoulder.
"Gihi, hello bunny girl. You really think Natsu and I wouldn't figure out your plan? Have you seen your curves compared to shrimp? If we couldn't tell the difference between the two of you, we would have to be blind or in serious need of glasses."
"Hey!" Levy shouted, glaring at Gajeel. "I mean I didn't actually say it, but that doesn't mean it isn't true," Gajeel shrugged.
Lucy had to physically hold Levy back from launching at Gajeel.
He sighed before continuing, "But just because you don't have curves doesn't mean you don't have other good aspects. Like you are way too smart and *cough cough* cute *cough cough*."
"What was that second one Gajeel, I don't think I heard it," Mirajane commented innocently. Well as innocent as a demon matchmaker could be.
"Fuck this shit," he said before slumping of to somewhere else.
"We-well if you knew our plan, the why did you chase me?"
"Gihi, you know the answer already, don't you?" She sighed in defeat and nodded.
As soon as she saw Natsu across the river and felt someone behind her she knew it was Gajeel.
The second thing she figured out was that they were just humoring her and Levy's plan, as she saw Natsu run by, look directly at her, and give her a smirk.
But, being a Heartfillia, she refused to give up. She began to talk, hoping to distract Gajeel. "So, what are you going to do now?" she asked.
As he began to laugh and talk, she jumped further than she had in her entire life. She landed with a splash into the water, willing her arms to go faster.
Flying like a fish through the water, her arms and legs began to tire. She finally reached the shore and began to climb out until she felt someone pull her out of the water.
She panicked, thinking it was Gajeel, but found herself face to face with Mirajane, Elfman, Gray, and Juvia.
Looking back, she saw Gajeel just standing on the boat smirking. Well he was off her back for now.
Mirajane quickly explained how Yukino, Erza, Reedus, and herself were trying to gather as many Fairy Tail members as they could to meet up and have a stand against the dragon slayers.
She ran off with them to gather more members. She just hoped Levy was okay.
Levy realized her mistake as she saw Natsu looking directly at her face grinning. At that moment, she bolted. Running faster than she ever had in her life.
But as she ran, she realized this was far from over. Natsu gave no resistance to letting her leave. Gajeel and Natsu were making a plan, and it was likely going to be stupid enough to be genius.
"HAHAHA!" The guilds watched in shock as their reader doubled over with laughter.
"Guys, everything is so much funnier when you are drunk, I swear!" Cana screeched through her laughter.
The guilds sweat dropped as the girl fell out of her seat, still laughing. Markov reached out and placed Cana back in her seat, while Mirajane walked up to Cana.
"Cana," she said sweetly, "continue reading properly, or I will force you to be sober for the rest of your life."
That snapped the hysterical girl out of her giggles as she scrambled back onto her seat and continued to read.
Eventually she reached the town square and found none other than Yukino running for her life. "Yukino?!" she shouted.
"Levy, hurry, run with me!" she shouted.
Suddenly members from the guild burst into the square, all running into a central point before crashing into each other.
As people groaned from the impact, they heard chuckles echoing around the square.
"Ah, they thought they could run from us. How cute."
"Natsu, shut up. You did none of the work."
"Gajeel, Natsu, you guys are here too?"
"Sting is that you?"
"No, he's the tooth fairy."
"Laxus!"
"Ah, sweet, sweet sarcasm." Cana closed her eyes, as if savoring a tasty treat.
"And by a hottie no less," Cana winked at Laxus.
If one looked close, they could see the narrowing in Mira's eyes.
Fairy Tail members listened to the bickering group, before remembering why they were running.
Suddenly, Levy, Mirajane, Lucy, and Yukino found themselves next to each other surrounded by their guild mates.
As the group began to inch towards an exit in the square, suddenly the dragon slayers began to pay attention.
"Oh no you don't, we came here with a prize in mind," Laxus rumbled.
The Fairy Tail members were frantically looking around, trying to find the source of the voice. The audio was bouncing around and echoing, so they didn't know where the dragon slayers were.
Suddenly fire burst out from where the mages were standing so they ran the opposite way.
Only to find a metal cage dropping from above them. The mages all get in a battle stance as the dragon slayers emerge from the shadows.
As soon as one becomes visible, magic starts flying. Levy and Freed begin working on quick protectant runes, Elfman does his beast take over and tries to brake the bars, Erza transforms into Heaven's Wheel, and so on.
"Oh, I wouldn't advise trying to break the bars, it's not going to work," Gajeel cheekily grins, "they are my strongest metal."
"Besides, we are letting a few of you out. Just probably not the ones you want," Sting says.
Laxus teleports into the cage and grabs onto two people. Flashing out he reveals Levy and Yukino.
"Two down, two more," he grins.
Realizing what he was doing, Erza pushes Lucy out of the way, along with Mirajane.
Sadly for her, Laxus anticipated that.
He stepped to the side and yanked Mirajane and Lucy towards him before teleporting out.
This was all within the span of five seconds. The four girls, had they been in the right mindset, would have done something.
But at this point they were all shocked, not at all thinking straight.
That is, until they saw the cage filled with guild members and realized that they were outside of it.
And they bolted.
Only to run smack dab into the arms of the waiting dragon slayers.
"Well, if you'll excuse us fellow guild members, we have somewhere to be," Sting said with a bow before picking Yukino up and running off.
Natsu, Gajeel, and Laxus all followed, taking their respective girls somewhere.
Natsu was the first to arrive to his desired spot. It was the location of the tree he had uprooted for Lucy once.
He gently placed Lucy on the ground before plopping down next to him.
"Luce?" he began tentatively.
"What Natsu, are you going to do now. Just 'have your way with me?'" she said harshly, putting up air quotes around have your way with me.
Natsu snorted at that. "Of course not, what in the world would make you think that?"
Lucy blushed at that. "Well, that's how it is in books and stuff," she mumbled.
"Luce, I think Fairy Tail misunderstood what this event means to us. Yes sometimes the instinct isn't the greatest. Like the time Laxus tried to destroy everything. But when a dragon is ready to mate, that is a truly special festival."
Gajeel ran with Levy in his arms.
She was doing her best to get out of his arms, and he suddenly stopped when she almost got out.
"Why do you keep running from me Shrimp?" he growled.
She looked at him with tears in her eyes. "Because I don't want to just be your plaything until you get bored and move onto another girl. I refuse! And besides, I don't even know if I love you or whatever!"
Gajeel sighed before walking over to a nearby park and putting her on a swing. He sat next to her and forced her to look at him.
"I don't really know how you got such a poor idea of this festival but let me say this, this isn't just some feeling. I am not just momentarily infatuated with you. I'm not going to just leave you or get bored of you. You would be my mate. A dragon's mate isn't just like human's love. It's a soul mate, someone who was born to love you and vice versa."
"And yes, maybe you don't love me right now," Sting said to Yukino. "But just as I was made to love you, you were made to love me. But I will never force you to do anything. Even if it takes years for you to fall in love with me, I will wait for you."
They sat with the breeze blowing in the courtyard of the guild hall.
"And it might sound all pompous of me to just say that you will one day love me. But it's true and I would never want to deny it. Because I love you with all my heart, for now and forever."
"What this holiday is, isn't just for a dragon slayer to so called 'claim' a girl or guy, but rather to spend time with their mate, if it's their time to mate," Laxus explained. "The day is basically a huge date where the two spend time together. It isn't some hormone driven day, but a day to celebrate the love between two beings."
He perched on the side of the docks as Mirajane overlooked the water.
"But, why did you guys act like that all day?" she asked.
"Oh that, it was mainly the playful side of our inner dragon. We wanted to play with our mate, almost like hide and go seek."
Squeals erupted from all the girls (and a few guys too) after the explanations ended.
Cana snorted at their sappiness, but others didn't care. "That was the absolute sweetest thing ever!" a girl screeched, before fainting to the ground
Another screamed, "Please tell me this holiday is real! LOVE ME LAXUS!"
"I CALL NATSU!" "YOU CAN HAVE HIM, GIVE ME STING!" "GAJEEEEL!" "ROGUEEEEEEE!"
"Would you look at that, the strongest guild in Fiore turned into a group of fangirls in a matter of minutes," Lyon commented, before looking over to find Cherry with hearts in her eyes. Was that drool?
"Wait a second, where is Rogue in the story?!" someone shouted.
Rogue himself had been wondering this for a while, but decided not to comment on it, feeling no need for the attention.
And with that the story continued.
Natsu finished his explanation and looked at Lucy, whose eyes were wide open. Her mouth gaped open like a fish, before she shut it.
"Natsu that is the sweetest thing I have ever heard in my entire life. But, do you mean it? Do you really love me?"
"Of course I do Luce, it's as easy as breathing."
"Well," she said slowly, "I don't know if I love you just yet. I have to admit I think I have a crush on you. But I don't know about love."
Natsu nodded his head, "I don't expect you to love me right away."
"But, thank you for allowing me to be part of this festival."
She blushed and looked down before quickly pecking him on the lips.
Then she continued talking as if nothing happened, but the blush stayed present on both of their faces for a long time after.
Levy looked down when he finished his story, feeling bad for the harsh accusations she threw at him.
"I'm sorry, I was so cruel to you," she said, ashamed.
He chuckled before pulling her head up.
"Levy," she was shocked he said her real name, "it's fine, you were nervous."
She sighed before admitting, "No I was scared. If I am honest, I have loved you were a long time. But I don't want to get my hopes up only for them to come crashing down."
"Well Shrimp, you have nothing to worry about," he said, before he planted a sweet kiss on her lips.
Yukino was unsure what to do, so she looked at her hands. "Sting, I don't love you right now. I may have a crush, but this isn't love."
"Ah don't worry about that yet, we have our entire lives to work that out." He smiled and reached out to her.
She complied and they laced fingers before laying on the ground.
As the watched the stars begin to increasingly gleam, Sting placed a chaste kiss on her lips before settling back down.
As Yukino and Sting fell asleep under the stars, both had a smile that lasted the night.
When Laxus finished his story, Mirajane reached over to him. Only to slap him in the face.
"Wahoo! You go girl!" Cana whooped. Mirajane blushed before waving her on to continue.
Then she hugged him. "I am still pretty angry my entire day got wasted when you could have just told me this. Idiot. Regardless, that was beautiful."
Then she yanked him to her and well, she felt fireworks, and she sure as hell knew he did too.
Meanwhile, in another part of Magnolia…
Rogue sat near a waterfall, peering up at the night sky. He had realized when the festival started, he had no instinct. Nothing driving him. It was weird because all the other guys were ready for mating season. Even young Wendy had a family instinct. Last year he had an instinct.
It was then he realized, he was aromantic. And fine with it.
So maybe he didn't have a destined someone. He did have some great friends and a fantastic family. And that was something he was okay with.
"HAHAHA, You are forever alone!" people began to laugh and almost jeer until Rogue got up.
"Listen, I don't really care what my sexuality is, but don't make fun of another person for whom they love!"
The guilds jeers quieted down as they realized their mistake. (A/N Yeah kinda sappy but, it fit with the plot line so eh)
"But OMG that was the most adorablest thing ever!" someone shouted. The cheers began again in how cute the story was and such.
And so the night ended on that cheerful note, with a grand close to a wonderful story.
So, it has finally come to a close! Tell me in the comments if you want the next chapter to be an epilogue to this or a new story. Well, see ya'll next time!
