Nightmares of a small turtle

Side effects

Oh my god I am so sorry for not uploading but I couldn't even though I so desperately wanted too, you see my computer nearly kicked the bucket (for the hundredth time!) and it wouldn't turn on, luckily my mum knows more about computers than me (sad but true) and somehow managed to fix it in her free time, but while doing that she updated my computer to windows 8.1 (yes I'm one of those people who had windows 7 for like, ever so what) but that also meant that I had no idea where Microsoft word was and ended up being delayed in writing even more so, than I went for I week long holiday camping trip and on my full day back I found where the freaking program was when I was fiddling and luckily I wrote some stuff on my trip away in a small notebook of mine, it's not a lot but it'll help me get started, though sadly I'm having trouble with getting ideas, since this was supposed to be a one-shot I didn't really have anything planned so new long chappies might take a while to become an reality, unless you give me some ideas.

But anyway

I hope you enjoy

Little Leonardo awoke slowly this morning; his eyes were red and puffy from the lack of sleep and constant crying. Beneath his eyes were dark bags which made his red eyes seemly brighter and redder. The young turtle yawned as he sluggishly rolled out of bed before stumbling out into the kitchen; he stood near the dining table for at least five minutes, blinking dozily and blankly before Leo's mind seemed to reconnect with his sluggish body. His eyes lit up as if he had just remembered something forgotten, something so plain and simple that it shocked him to have forgotten it. Leo walked, well more like stumbled, to the cabinet and grabbed a box of corn flakes, setting it down on the counter Leo made his way towards the fridge. Once he opened the fridges door he stood there and stared blankly at the carton of milk for more than a minute or two before realising that, that was the very thing he needed for his breakfast. Grabbing the carton he ventured back to the counter that withheld the golden flakes, Leo opened the cereals package before pouring golden flakes all over the counter, he then grabbed the carton of milk, opened the lid and poured it all over the counter's top. White pristine liquid splattered across the smooth surface before dripping down the cupboards beneath the counter top. The splashing and quiet thumping noises of the liquid hitting the concrete floor seemed to have woken the sleepy turtle form his tired hazy daze, the said turtle let out a shocked gasp before rushing towards the pantry and grabbed the mop and bucket, with those two cleaning objects Leo set off to work.

15 minutes later

Leonardo sat with a bowl of corn flakes at the dining table, sluggishly eating the crunchy flakes. As the small, sleepy turtle ate his breakfast he didn't sense his father's presence nor see him walking into the kitchen. When master splinter saw his son he instantly rushed to his side, worry washed over his face as he noticed that his eldest and most focused son hadn't even noticed him walking in or standing right beside him. "Leonardo, my son are you-" he cut himself off when he laid his hand on the sleepy turtles shoulder for he was frozen in shock at the fact that he was icy cold. Splinter's eyes widened, his ears stiffened and pointed up, his nose wiggled as he could smell the horrible scent of death, his face went pale when he noticed that the smell was coming from none other than.

Leonardo.

Splinter panicked and began to shake his shoulder back and forth, all the while shouting out demands at his freezing son who just sat there staring blankly ahead. Mikey, Raph and Donnie stood at the hallway doorway that led to the kitchen, tears streaming down each of their faces. They had all just awoken from horrible nightmares, all three of their nightmares started different but they all led to the same horrible, gruesome ending, Leo bloodied, laying on the floor, eyes blank and very much dead. All three of the young turtles had awoken crying before they had all rushed out of their respective rooms, dashing towards Leo's room, not even caring to tease the others for crying or seeking comfort from their big bro. but when the three small turtles had all stumbled through Leo's door they saw that Leo's bed was empty, then they had heard nose from the kitchen, they had all smiled thinking it was their beloved brother they had all sprinted to the kitchen with big but frightened smiles, they were sadly shown a sight that they hadn't wished to see. Their hysterical father shaking a emotionless, deathly pale, unresponsive Leonardo. All three brothers held one another tightly as tears poured out of their eye sockets, they all feared that their protector, their strength, their helper, their fighter, their mother hen, their leader, their big brother, their Leo was dead. "My son, Leonardo answer me!" splinter yelled out as he shook the young turtle hoping and praying that his baby would finally loss that worrisome blank look and finally awake from the world he was trapped in. after what felt like centuries Leo finally closed his big red puffy eyes before opening them, showing a tired and confused turtle.

"Mm-mmasterr ssssplinnnterrrrrr" he slurred out before coughing up a handful of crimson liquid. "my son what have you been hiding from us" master splinter whispered in horror and fear as his eyes widened at the sticky, red liquid running down his pale son's face. Leon looked up at his unhappy family, feeling his hear clench with fear, sadness and self-hatred, he didn't do his job; he didn't make them happy like how a good toy should. He failed them, were they going to throw him away now, like the broken toy he is. Leo didn't want to be broken, he didn't want to be alone, he still had so many more year that he knew that he was needed for, to look over his family, he couldn't be broken. He was fine, Leonardo wasn't broken not yet, HE WASN'T! Unknowingly Leo began to cry and shake, his temperature started to drop even lower than it already was and it just kept getting lower and lower. The fear, lack of sleep, stress, nightmares and the mental torment was destroying Leo, fast. Soon Leo began to whisper non understandable sentences as his tear grew thicker and gushed out of his eyes even faster. "broken toyyy", "happy not sad neverrr everrrr sad", "scared, don't scared", "nneeddded", "fiiiixxxxx", "brrrokken", "USELESS!" he had screamed as loud as possible with that word before continuing with muttering even more nonsense "Thrown away, not happy must", "happy". Leo soon began to twitch and kick out his legs as he swung his arms around, screaming out "I'M SORRY, I'M SOOO SORRY, I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY" over and over again, it was as if he were in a fit. Master splinter quickly wrapped his furry arms around the upset turtle, trying to stop his flailing around before he hurt himself considering he already smashed his cereal bowl. After a few minutes of him trying to calm his son Leo went limp, the home of the mutants was silent all except for the whispered sentences that kept flowing from Leonardo's mouth. The three brothers and the rat father all had chills going up and down their spines as Leo's voice haunted their home. "I'm sorry, so very sorry".

Mater splinter had finally managed to get Leonardo into his bed and to stop his constant repeating. His eldest son was covered with many blankets and had a bunch of heating bags (I think that's what they are) he currently was sitting in a chair that was placed next to his son's bed, patting Leo's head as to clam him in his restless sleep. Leo's three younger siblings all sat atop on the bed curling around Leo's form, trying their best to be as close to their big brother as possible, worry was on all of their faces. "Oh Leonardo, What have we done to you?" thought master splinter with a frown, as tears tried to make their way out of the prison. Leonardo continued to lay in the bed whimpering in pain, physically and mentally, arms tightly hugging himself as if to stop his body from splitting, toe's curling and legs coming up, making him form a ball.

Only time would tell if Leo would recover and only time will tell of he would ever open his eyes.

But only fate could tell if Leonardo would ever be fixed and finally see.

That he's not a broken toy.

This was sooooooo hard to write and I'm sooo sorry it's sooo short. STUPID WRTTERS BLOCK.

Sorry that this took so long to be updated, a lot of things have happened recently and I've just been playing the Xbox constantly lately, plus I couldn't upload things anyway because the internet's been a douche. Anyway hope you enjoyed

Please leave a review or any ideas on what I can do for the next chappie, give me a diseases or illness that Leo can have and tell me what'd you'd like to see in the next chappie, I'll try to upload a lot more quicker and with longer chapters.

If no one likes this story anymore then it'll wither away into the darkness of the angels.
