"On the last episode of Total Warners Island, 60 of the world's most-beloved cartoon characters from all walks of animated life arrived on Camp Wawanakwa, providing the fine viewers at home with a series of their establishing character moments: Johnny Bravo arrived as the braggadocious, swaggering muscleman he is known as; Invader Zim made his grand entrance on the island, being the vertically-challenged, melodramatic megalomaniac he usually is; Corey and Trina engaged in a little bit of sibling smack-talk; Eddy proved he was the self-proclaimed leader of the Eds; and there was the grand revelation that Gin Rummy was going to be the official chef for this version of Camp Wawanakwa ... bringing all of his Samuel L. Jackson mannerisms to add an extra layer to the references shown through Chef Hatchet.
Anyway, when we last left our contestants, they were about engage in their first challenge, which is diving off of a 30-foot cliff ... Chapter 02 (Episode 2, Week 1) – Season 1: Wanna Be Startin' Somethin': Part 2
Continuing from where we left off in the previous episode, Bugs and the contestants were all standing on top of the cliff for the first challenge of the season, which explains why the contestants were standing there wearing their swimming attire, looking down the cliff. After what felt like an hour of silence, Bugs finally said, "Alright, everyone, your first challenge is triple-fold: first things first, you have to jump off of this cliff and down into the lake below."
Kim took notice of the jump and said, "Hmm ... well, this doesn't seem too difficult."
"Well ... see, this is where the intensity level of this part of the challenge starts to take a sharp difficulty spike—look at me, using video game lingo in a fanfiction version of Total Drama Island," Bugs said, addressing the audience when he said the second part of his sentence, then he turned back to the contestants and said, "If you look down, you will see that there are two target areas: the wider area represents the part of the lake that is infested with sharks and the slightly-wider area is your safe zone, which is officially confirmed to be shark-free."
"Whoa ... that sounds a little extreme, Bugs," Double D said as a nervous smile appeared on his face.
"Hey, don't worry about a thing, Double D," Bugs said to Double D as he patted him on his shoulder. "Those sharks in the water are only animated actors who decided to play the roles of the man-eating sharks for this series. Besides, those guys are actually pretty friendly, surprisingly enough—you might have to Johnny Bravo about how they managed to become so friendly in the first place—compared to what you may have seen from the other sharks in animated media, so you all have nothing to worry about. Anyway, for each member of your team that jumps into the lake for the first part of this challenge, there will be a crate of supplies waiting below on the beach. Each crate contains the supplies required to complete the second part of this challenge, which is building a super-cool hot-tub for your team! With the material that is included in the crates, both teams should be able to create the coolest hot-tub to their heart's content. The team that builds the best hot-tub will close out the day with a super-cool hot-tub party tonight! As for the team that loses the challenge, they will have to send their first player home tonight and they will never return to the show ... EVER."
The hot-tub segment of the first challenge for the season raised interest among the various cartoon characters, but Bugs was only getting to the good part as Darius walked up next to him with a trophy that was modeled after the NBA Finals MVP award and Bugs said, "Wait a minute, that's not all, folks: this will be the first challenge that will introduce an all-new incentive that will be implemented for the rest of the series, starting with this season, but I'll go ahead and let Darius Magnificent here explain that part. Darius, would you like to do the honors?"
"Sure thing, Bugs," Darius said as he cleared his throat and started to address the contestants. "Alright, everyone, starting with this challenge and for the rest of the series, we will give out a special Animated All-Star Award at the end of each challenge of the season."
"What's an Animated All-Star Award?" Johnny asked curiously.
"Wait, is it an award that recognizes the superstar of the challenge and ensures them that they will get a super cash bonus at the end of the season?" Eddy said as dollar signs appeared on his eyes.
"Correct, as Eddy just said, the Animated All-Star Award will be given to the contestant who had the best influence on their team and managed to play a major role throughout the various challenges," Darius explained. "For each winner of this prestigious award, not only will one of you receive a trophy as an Animated All-Star, you will also receive a special $500,000 cash bonus to add to your $10,000,000 prize at the end of this season."
The contestants all perked up to the idea of an Animated All-Star Award that would be rewarded for their hard work during each challenge of the season as well as a $500,000 cash bonus at the end of this season. Bugs and Darius smiled at each other as Bugs turned to the contestants and said, "Alright, so now that we've gotten the info about the Animated All-Star Award out of the way, let's get this challenge started. Looney Screwballs, you guys are up first!"
Jen looked over the cliff and reared back a bit as she said, "Wow ... so, uh ... who wants to go first?"
All of the contestants exchanged nervous looks among themselves, trying to figure out who would take the first go-around on this challenge until Wakko decided to reassure the contestants of the challenge's safety levels as he said, "Hey, don't worry, guys, I hear that these shows tend to have the interns do the sunts first to make sure the challenges are safe."
(Flashback: Two hours earlier)
"Alright, Rummy, I need you to test this challenge to make sure it is safe for the contestants before they come up here today," Bugs said to Gin Rummy, who was wearing a pair of of board shorts.
"Man, do I look like a random, interchangeable intern to you, Bugs?" Gin Rummy asked in an indignant tone.
"No, but our current interns are currently on a paid vacation. Come on, Rummy, at least cut them some slack for once! Besides, they work hard for the cast and crew everyday, so the least we could do is give them a vacation for their dedication to the job."
Gin Rummy just sighed in response as he put his swimming goggles on his face and said, "Well, I guess it's better than a kick in the head in the long run."
Once he put his swimming goggles on, Gin Rummy then made the perilous jump into the lake below, eventually landing right outside of the safe zone, leading to a group of sharks to approach him. Suddenly, Gin Rummy prepared to pull out his gun and said, "Hey, if you sharks really want these problems, go ahead and try to make a meal out of me! I'll show y'all what I'm really workin' with!"
However, the sharks reassured Gin Rummy that they weren't going to eat him as one of them said, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, put-put the gun down, man! We wouldn't even think about requesting any of those problems, as you say ..."
"Alright, just wanted to make that clear 'cause I was willing to cook up some sharks for the contestants tonight," Gin Rummy said.
The sharks reared back as another shark said to himself, "Sheesh! I know this one guy I never want to cross roads with ever again ..."
Gin Rummy then looked up at Bugs and shouted from below, "Alright, Bugs, this challenge is safe for the contestants!"
Bugs then took out a clipboard and wrote 'SAFE' on the challenge evaluation sheet, then he turned to the audience and said, "Well, what do you know? I knew there was something beneficial about having Gin Rummy as the chef of this new show."
(Present Time)
Back with the contestants, the Looney Screwballs were still trying to figure out who would be brave enough to take that perilous jump off of the cliff and into the water as Brandy said, "Alright, who's up first?"
"Ladies first, I always say!" Eddy shouted from the other side, snickering to himself while inciting confused looks and sighs of annoyance from most of the other contestants. "What?"
Jen finally decided to step up for her team as she sighed and cleared her throat, saying, "Fine, I guess I'll go ahead and go first. I mean, it's no big deal ... just a 30-foot dive into a circle laid out in the lake. Either I make it into the safe zone and win this for the Screwballs ... or I end up miscalculating the landing and land into the area filled with a couple of sharks ... Well, here goes nothing."
Once Jen took a deep breath, she managed to perform a perfect swan dive into the safe zone, leaving all of the campers amazed at her performance.
"Not bad, not bad at all," Kim said with a smile.
"That was pretty impressive," Courage said with a smile.
"Alright, let's keep that energy going!" Corey said as he leapt off of the cliff and managed to dive into the safe zone, but not without performing the most-complicated dive a la Daffy Duck when he went to Casa de Calma.
Unlike Daffy's attempt at said complicated dive, however, Corey managed to make the dive without any broken bones or any minor contusions on his body as he popped his head out of the water and said, "Rock on!"
"Cowabunga, dude!" Jude shouted from above as he leapt off of the cliff and landed in the safe zone.
"Look out below, Jude!" Juniper said as she followed Jude by diving off of the cliff herself.
Huey just landed into the safe zone with no semblance of emotion or anything resembling an expression on his face, while Finn followed through while saying, "Careful, Huey, the Finn Train is coming down strong!"
Mordecai and Rigby shared a cry of an excited "WHOOOOAAA!" as they jumped off of the cliff and landed into the safe zone, followed by the respective jumps of Virgil and Wyatt, both of whom managed to make it into the safe zone with ease.
In a similar fashion to what Huey did earlier, Brandy dove into the safe zone with no semblance of emotion, then Sam and Alex made it into the safe zone. Double D looked like he was going to jump next, but he looked rather nervous as he said, "Oh, dear ... I don't know if this is as safe as Gin Rummy made it out to be ..."
(Confessional Cam: The reality show equivalent to the NBA's courtside coverage)
Gin Rummy: "Do I seriously have to test this challenge again to make sure it is safe for the contestants? Seriously, it can't be that dangerous, right?"
Double D was going to back away and request that Bugs give him the chicken hat, but he was quickly stopped by his teammates, who tried their best to reassure him that the water was safe ... and the fact that the sharks weren't going to cause any harm to them in any way, shape or form. Double D felt conflicted about this because, on one hand, he didn't want to risk losing this challenge for his team, but on the other hand, he knew it would've felt profoundly stupid for him to perform a death-defying dive into a safe zone that was hard to define ... especially if the kids back in the cul-de-sac were going to see it.
"Come on, Double D, you're going to be fine!" Daggett said. "Besides, even if we get any injuries, we're all cartoon characters!"
Minako then cleared her throat for Daggett to clarify his statement, then Daggett sighed as he said, "Okay, most of us are cartoon characters, but I'm sure the Toon Physics that were defined by the Warner Bros. cartoons would work for the anime starlets, am I right?"
(Confessional Cam: Could anime characters also be considered cartoon characters? You be the judge)
Minako: "Actually, we do have our own set of Toon Physics that have been standardized and implemented in our universe, but ... I highly doubt they would be just as similar as the ones for our distant counterparts in Western civilization."
"Daggett, just what are you trying to say?" Double D said.
"Listen, Double D, what I am trying to say is—" Daggett began to say until he was interrupted by Makoto, who decided to encourage Double D in her own way.
"Double D, I understand you're nervous about performing this jump, but try your best not to think about it as a death-defying dive, think of it as ... well, a simple dive into the water of your neighborhood pool," Makoto said.
"Local neighborhood pool? We only use the swimming hole back at home," Double D said. "Well ... at least, depending on what the episode is going to be and whether it involves summertime fun or a series of shenanigans set off by one of Eddy's scams."
Eddy took note of what Double D said and responded with, "Hey, at least the scams tend to liven things up back at the cul-de-sac! They're part of what makes our show so great!"
Most of the contestants just gave Eddy looks of confusion as Usagi quietly asked Cindy, "Uh ... do you know what Eddy's talking about?"
"Don't look at me, I'm not the one writing this script," Cindy said as she smirked at Usagi.
"Anyway ... you understand what I'm trying to say here, Double D?" Makoto said. "I know you have a fear of death-defying and dizzying heights, but you're going to have to face them one day. Just believe in yourself and I promise you'll make it down there safely."
Double D then gave a small smile in response as he cleared his throat and said, "You really think so, Makoto?"
"I don't think so, Double D," Makoto said as she placed her hand on his shoulder. "I know so."
Double D just gave a warm smile as he decided to take the jump for his team. Once he did take that jump, he was feeling nervous from within as he went through the long fall, but externally, he looked like he was having the time of his life. Eventually, he managed to make it into the safe zone, then he popped his head out of the water and spat out the water as he said, "Well, I guess that was very invigorating ..."
The other members of the Looney Screwballs cheered for Double D, alongside a select few members of the Zooming Road Runners, including Ed and Eddy, as Bugs said, "Well, whaddya know? I guess that Double D kid really had it in him the whole time."
After Double D made it into the safe zone and returned to the beach with his fellow Looney Screwballs members who have jumped into the water, Sam and Alex both performed perfect swan dives and made it into the safe zone. Soon, Jenny found herself as the next member of the Looney Screwballs to make that jump off of the cliff, but seemed to be thrown off by the fact that she would actually land in some water.
Jenny then walked over to Bugs and said, "Uh, Bugs ... I don't know if I can actually pull this off."
"You think you're going to short-circuit when you land in the water?" Bugs asked.
"Well ..." Jenny said as she blushed in embarrassment.
However, Bugs just gave a warm chuckle in response as he said, "Hey, don't worry about a thing, Jenny. Besides, I understand how robots function; believe me, I've seen what happened when robots touch a little bit of water—they rust, just ask Elmer Fudd when he sicced his own homemade robot on me back in the day—but I really don't want to see the debilitating effects that will come just diving into the water."
Jenny looked surprised about how Bugs was so understanding about this as she finally said, "So ... Bugs, what are you going to do?"
Bugs thought about it for a moment, then he said, "Well ... to be honest, I'll go ahead and let you sit this one out."
Jenny breathed a sigh of relief as she hugged Bugs and said, "Oh, thank you, thank you, Bugs!"
The Road Runners just looked on in simultaneous shock and surprise as Riley said in an annoyed tone, "Oh, come on, Bugs! Are you serious?!"
"What? You mean to tell me that you don't know a thing or two about robots, Riley?" Bugs said while raising an eyebrow.
(Confessional Cam: Look into the confessionals and see your thoughts play for the public)
Jenny: "Okay, so maybe things aren't going the way I had intended. Hopefully, things start to improve later on in this episode. I really want to prove my worth for this challenge!"
"Yeah-uh, baby-ee, this is for all of the beavers around the world! Yi-yi-yi-yi-yi-yi!" Daggett shouted as he jumped off of the cliff and performed a dive into the safe zone; however, he ended up hitting the cliff on his way down, yet he still managed to land in the safe zone.
(Confessional Cam: Toon Physics 101)
Daggett: "See what I mean, folks? Toon Physics can be your best friend."
In quick succession following Daggett's jump into the safe zone, Grim, Clawdeen, Musa, Corey, Numbah 1 and Frankie all made it into the safe zone of the lake, earning extra points for the Looney Screwballs. Ami M. then stepped up and managed to perform a perfect swan dive into the safe zone, inciting a few of the Screwballs on the beach hold up varying score cards of 10s, 9.5s, 9s and even a heart from Double D.
(Confessional Cam: #SpaceJamEverywhere – A possible Jordan Brand marketing campaign)
Bugs: "Ah, there's the first of many Space Jam references in this series. Just wait until we get to the basketball challenge later this season ..."
As Ami M. made it out of the water and walked over to her teammates, Makoto decided to perform a cannonball into the safe zone, then Minako followed through as she called out, "Look out below, Makoto!"
Once Makoto and Minako finished their jump into the safe zone, Setsuna performed a unique dive into the safe zone, then Flora followed through with a special and perfect swan dive into the safe zone. Finally, Dib stepped up next, then he turned to the audience and said, "This should be relatively easy ... I have a feeling that Zim might not be able to perform this dive as well as I could because I remember whenever he would come in contact with water on our show."
Once Dib made the jump into the safe zone, only two members of the Looney Screwballs were left: Courage and Bloom. While Bloom was thinking about what type of dive she was going to perform on her way into the safe zone, Courage almost backed out of the challenge, but once he heard the cheering and cries of encouragement from his fellow members of the Looney Screwballs, he started to reconsider his decision to back out of the challenge.
Once he prepared to make the jump from the cliff into the safe zone, Courage just sighed as he then turned to the audience and said, "The things I do for love."
After saying a quick prayer to himself, Courage cleared his throat as he finally made the jump from the cliff and into the safe zone. Once he finally made it out of the water and returned to the beach with his fellow members of the Looney Screwballs, his teammates hugged him and showered him with praise, something the pink dog was not too accustomed to.
Meanwhile, back with Bloom, she tried to come up with a unique diving style that she could call her own until she noticed time was running out on the clock. Finally, Bloom got an idea of a diving style of her own as she jumped into the air and managed to pull off an impressive dive into the safe zone, helping the Screwballs get the upper hand over the Road Runners. Bloom popped out of the water and smiled as she said, "Well, what do you know? That turned out better than I thought!"
Back on the top of the cliff, Bugs gave a look of simultaneous surprise and amazement, then he turned to the audience and said, "Heh, well, whaddya know? I was halfway expecting her to pull out of the challenge and wear the dreaded chicken hat, but I guess I'm not dealing with a thinly-veiled Courtney archetype on this type of show ... ironically enough."
Bugs then turned to the Zooming Road Runners and said to the members of said team, "Alright, Road Runners, you guys are up next!"
"Cool, so ... who's going to take the first jump?" Yumi said as she turned to see which one of her fellow teammates was going to step up and jump first, but they only looked at the pop rockstar in complete confusion and silence.
Among some of the members of the Zooming Road Runners, Johnny was busy looking at himself in a mirror, Yakko and Buster were busy whistling the signature Looney Tunes theme, Riley was looking to see who would take the first jump, Numbah 5 was engaged in a conversation with Rei and Eddy was busy coming up with a plan for his first scam on Camp Wawanakwa.
After what felt like an hour of awkward silence, Bugs was going to speak up and remind the Zooming Road Runners that they were wasting time, but Trina finally spoke up to her fellow teammates, saying, "Look, I don't know who you guys were waiting on this whole time, but I'm not jumping."
The other members of the Zooming Road Runners looked at Trina in simultaneous shock and surprise as Eddy said, "Wait a minute, what? What do you mean you're not jumping?!"
"Uh, hello, we're on, like, national television! I'll get my hair wet!" Trina said in a defensive tone.
Riley just raised an eyebrow in response and said in an annoyed tone, "Wait ... are you kidding me right now?"
"Sorry, guys, but I'm not jumping into the water!" Trina said, folding her arms and puckering her lips out.
Numbah 5 then walked up to her and got into Trina's face, saying, "Listen, I don't care what excuse you have in store; you're jumping into that water!"
Trina reacted to Numbah 5's comment with a shocked look on her face as she said in an annoyed tone, "Oh, really? Says who?"
"Says me," Numbah 5 said. "There's no way I'm losing this challenge because you're so scared to get your hair wet, you prima-donna Daddy's Girl!"
"Why don't you get off my case and jump in the water yourself, you young, secret-agent, hip-hop wannabe?" Trina said in a tone of subdued anger and annoyance.
"Hey, why don't you cool it with the barbs and put your money where your mouth is, you spoiled, uptight, self-centered, stereotypical prom queen of a mean girl?" Numbah 5 said.
Trina was taken aback by the barrage of insults Numbah 5 hurled at her, but she decided to set the KND operative off by saying one thing: "Well, at least I'm more popular than you'll ever be!"
Most of the other members of the Zooming Road Runners reared back in shock upon hearing Trina say that to Numbah 5, Johnny just continued looking at himself in the mirror and Bugs ... well, the rascally rabbit just turned to the audience and said, "Sheesh, this stuff is more intense than what you would see on Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
Numbah 5 just looked at Trina in annoyance, but she decided to play it cool as she sighed and said, "Alright, Trina, I didn't want to resort to this method, but you have left me no choice ..."
Trina just stared at the KND operative in confusion as she said while sporting a smug smile on her face, "Oh ... and what exactly do you have in store?"
Numbah 5 then pulled out the S.L.U.G.G.U.H. weapon and aimed it right at Trina's vicinity, which caused the pink-haired teenager to look nervous as she said, "Whoa, whoa, hold on a minute, kid! There's no reason why you have to use those weapons you brought with you to the island!"
However, Numbah 5 just ignored Trina's warnings and pressed the button on the S.L.U.G.G.U.H., causing a boxing glove to pop out of the front of the remote and hit Trina off of the cliff, which led to her landing in the safe zone. Once she popped out of the water, she noticed her hair was now a mess, then she looked up at the cliff and yelled, "Ugh! Numbah 5, you are so dead!"
"Hey, this S.L.U.G.G.U.H. remote got you into the safe zone, didn't it?" Numbah 5 said with a smirk. "Now, I just hope I can make it."
Numbah 5 then jumped off of the cliff and managed to dive into the safe zone, right next to Trina, smirking at the pink-haired teenager while Trina was still scowling at Numbah 5.
Stella looked down at Trina and Numbah 5 from the top of the cliff, then she turned to Layla and said, "Well, I can tell these two are going to become some serious rivals for most of this season."
"You've got that right, Stella," Layla said as she giggled to herself for a bit.
Stella then screamed excitedly as she started to fall quicker after jumping off of the cliff, eventually landing into the safe zone. Afterwards, Buster and Babs respectively jumped off of the cliff and managed to land into the safe zone with ease ... at least compared to what happened when Usagi tried to make it into the safe zone, flapping around like a bird until she finally made it into the water. After Usagi landed in the water, Mandy just dove into the water in a cool and subdued fashion, similar to how Huey and Brandy did for the Screwballs. Following Mandy's dive, Billy, Tecna, Cindy and Roxy all managed to land into the safe zone, then Rei added to the point total by playing it cool like Mandy.
When it was Johnny's turn to make the jump for the Road Runners, he had accidentally landed right outside of the safe zone. Once Johnny landed, the other members of the Zooming Road Runners noticed a group of sharks rushing up to Johnny. Rei then cried out, "Johnny, hurry up and get out of the water!"
"Johnny, get out of the water and get over here on the beach before you become shark chow!" Billy shouted from the beach.
Once the sharks got to Johnny, however, Johnny decided to defend himself by performing some martial arts on the sharks themselves, then he managed to use one of the sharks as a surfboard on his way back to the beach. Once he caught up with his teammates, Johnny just smiled and said, "No need for you guys to worry. Besides, you have a teammate who has mastered all forms of the martial arts!"
Suddenly, a sumo wrestler popped up out of nowhere and squished Johnny under his behind. Once the sumo wrestler left, Johnny managed to get back up in one piece, clearing his throat as he said, "Did I mention that I'm currently studying sumo wrestling?"
(Confessional Cam: TMZ, eat your heart out!)
Yakko: "Didn't they already make a joke like that in his What a Cartoon! pilot short? It just sounds so familiar ..."
Back at the top of the cliff, Ami seemed to look nervous about the dive into the safe zone, then she quickly accepted her chicken hat while some of her teammates mocked her by clucking like a chicken in response. However, Bugs, Usagi, Yumi, Buster and Babs did feel bad for the pop rockstar.
(Confessional Cam: The animated counterpart to the behind-the-scenes reality show footage)
Babs: "You know, just to be honest here ... I couldn't be mad at Ami for wanting to back out of the challenge. I mean, she seemed like she had a lot more common sense than most of us. I guess she isn't blinded by that 'winner-take-all' mentality like most of us contestants."
Meanwhile, Ed stepped up for the Zooming Road Runners and decided to jump off the cliff, then into the safe zone with a cry of "Buttered Toast!". Once Ed jumped off of the cliff, he made it into the safe zone with relative ease, then Eddy and Riley took the opportunity to jump to take the jump for their team. Eddy jumped off the cliff and whooped excitedly as he eventually landed into the safe zone whereas Riley just played it cool, smirking as he landed into the safe zone. After Eddy and Riley returned to the beach after their jump, Haruka and Michiru made it into the safe zone after performing swan dives into the water.
When Zim stepped up for the team, he just laughed evilly as he said, "Hahahaha! Inferior, foolish Earth hogs! Watch as I, the almighty Invader Zim, pull off this masterful, death-defying dive into the safe zone ... with no slip-ups whatsoever!"
However, once Zim did land in the water, he started screaming for help as the boat being used for the Zooming Road Runners pulled up near the safe zone and pulled Zim out of the water, all while Zim was twitching on the deck of the boat.
"P-P-P-painful ... unc-c-c-comfortable water ... N-N-N-No more water, n-n-n-no more ..." Zim said as he was twitching on the boat.
(Confessional Cam: An interesting turn into The X-Files)
Setsuna: "I guess I have to side with Dib on this one. I think Zim is actually an alien."
Grim: "Alien."
Double D: "Alien."
Courage: "Definitely an alien."
Once Layla, Yakko, Clover, Wile E. and Norbert made their jumps into the water, Bugs thought that all of the Road Runners had taken their turns for the challenge ... until he noticed that Wakko was the only one who didn't get to jump for the Road Runners. Bugs noticed that Wakko was asleep from afar, probably waiting for his turn to take his jump.
As Bugs was about to walk over to Wakko and tell him it was time for him to jump, Gin Rummy showed up and stopped Bugs, telling him, "Don't worry, Bugs, I'll handle that Warner Brother over there."
While Bugs was trying to figure out what Gin Rummy meant by that comment, Gin Rummy took notice of Wakko sleeping like an angel, then he turned to the audience and said, "Well, look at that, ladies and gentlemen, Wakko is sleeping so peaceful like. You know, it would be quite a catastrophe if someone were to rudely awaken Wakko from his peaceful ... serene ... dream ..."
Suddenly, Gin Rummy then turned on his megaphone at full blast and shouted, "WAKKO WARNER, IF YOU DON'T GET YOUR WACKY CARTOON CHARACTER TAIL UP AND MAKE THIS JUMP FOR THE ZOOMING ROAD RUNNERS BEFORE YOU GUYS MESS AROUND AND LOSE TO THE LOONEY SCREWBALLS!"
Right on Gin Rummy's cue, Wakko jumped up and rushed off of the cliff, eventually landing into the safe zone. Wakko then popped out of the water, spitting out the H2O as he said, "Well, what do you know? That was easier than I thought."
(Confessional Cam: The home of shocked reactions, surprising elimination secrets and Popcorn Fridays)
Gin Rummy: "Okay, listen, man ... to the viewers at home who just witnessed this, let me ask you a question: did any of y'all think Wakko was seriously just going to get up and make that jump? I thought he was just going to pull an Owen and have doubts of even making the jump!"
Wakko (peeking his head inside the confessional): "Pardon me, Gin Rummy, but you do know I wouldn't play into the 'Owen' stereotypes ... even though I tend to be the big eater of my siblings ..."
Once the contestants all made it to the beach area of Camp Wawanakwa, Bugs, Darius and Gin Rummy caught up with them while Bugs was tallying up the scores and confirmed that both the Looney Screwballs and the Zooming Road Runners were tied for this challenge.
"Alright, after compiling all of the jumpers and the non-jumpers for both teams—and calculating the various possibilities of how this part of the challenge would end—I can safely say, with the utmost confidence, that ... both teams finished this challenge in a tie!" Bugs said as all of the contestants smiled. "Now, let's get going with the second part of the challenge!"
Suddenly, a helicopter flew down to the island and lowered two crates onto the ground as said helicopter flew away from the campsite. Bugs then cut the rope from both crates as he said, "Alright, both teams have to carry these crates back to the campsite and, from that pont on, you will construct a super-cool, modern-age hot tub! As I have stated earlier when we were on the cliff, the team that makes the coolest hot tub wins the challenge and will have a personal hot tub party tonight. As for the losers ... well, I just hope you guys are ready to send your first teammate home tonight for the campfire ceremony. May the best team win, good luck and ... go!"
Once both teams started carrying their crates back to the campsites to build their super-cool hot tubs, Bugs then turned to the audience and smirked as he said in a sotto aside, "I wouldn't change the channel yet, folks, this should be very interesting ..."
After a quick change back into their regular clothing, both teams were using the carts to carry the crates back to the campsite, so they could proceed with building their hot tubs for the second part of the challenge. However, while the Looney Screwballs were able to carry their crates with ease, the Zooming Road Runners ended up falling behind due to one of the wheels coming off of the cart while they were walking.
Luckily for the Road Runners, both teams managed to make it to the campgrounds where they tried to open the crates, but Bugs managed to open them easily for both teams by using a remote control, leading to the rabbit to turn to the audience and say in another sotto aside, "Don't ya just love technology, folks?"
While both teams proceeded to construct their respective hot tubs, Trina and Nefera both walked over to Numbah 5, who was busy digging through the Road Runners' crate to find the tools for the jobs. Numbah 5 noticed Trina and Nefera walking up to her, then she just rolled her eyes and sighed as she said, "Oh, here we go again ... Trina, what do you want this time?"
"Listen, Numbah 5, I didn't come up here to start any trouble," Trina said as she cleared her throat and sighed. "I just ... wanted to apologize for how things went earlier today during the high-dive ..."
Numbah 5 was flustered by Trina's sudden change of heart, blushing in response as she snapped out of her stupor and said, "Really? Oh ... well, I guess I'm sorry for using my S.L.U.G.G.U.H. remote to knock you off of the cliff earlier."
"No problem," Trina said with a smile. "No hard feelings, right?"
"Sure," Numbah 5 said with a nod of her head.
Nefera seemed to be flustered by Trina actually apologizing to Numbah 5, evidenced by the fact that she was gagging from behind and was trying her best not to throw up as she and Trina left Numbah 5 to continue working on the hot tub. Once Nefera and Trina were away from Numbah 5's hearing distance, Nefera looked at Trina and said, "Uh, Trina, can I ask you a serious question?"
"Sure," Trina said while shrugging.
"Well ... were you being serious when you were apologizing to Numbah 5?" Nefera asked in a half-surprised, half-amused tone.
"Hmm ... how can I put this delicately, Nefera: ... No, of course not!" Trina said as she smirked at Trina.
Nefera breathed a sigh of relief as she smirked at Trina and said, "Phew, that's good. Heh, for a second, I really thought you were trying to get on good with Numbah 5."
"Well, you don't have to worry about that at any point, Nefera," Trina said in a reassuring tone. "Besides, haven't you heard of the phrase: 'Keep your friends close and your enemies closer'?"
"Obviously," Nefera said as she smiled deviously. "Besides, how do you think I grew in status on the cheerleading ranks?"
"Besides, I know that Numbah 5 is very easy to fool in the long run, so, once we come up with this unstoppable alliance, I will be planning for her eventual downfall ..." Trina said as a devious smirk appeared on her face.
However, unbeknownst to either Trina and Nefera, Numbah 5 was actually aware of their ulterior motives as she thought to herself, "Those girls think they have me wrapped around their little finger, but they'll soon realize that Numbah 5 is not one to be trifled with ..."
Meanwhile, the Looney Screwballs were actually making good progress on their own super-cool hot tub by actually working together and utilizing their various skills to keep the hot tub sturdy. While they were putting the finishing touches on their hot tub, Double D took notice of the Road Runners trying to construct their hot tub, but they were unable to work together like a full unit, although some of the members were trying their absolute hardest to make the coolest hot tub the world has ever seen.
Jenny noticed Double D watching the Road Runners trying to construct their hot tub, so she walked up to the brainy Ed boy, poking his shoulder as she said, "Uh ... Double D?"
Double D jumped up a bit as he then turned around to come face-to-face with Jenny and said, "Oh, uh, hi, Jenny ... uh, what's up?"
"Nothing much," Jenny said while smiling a bit. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Double D said. "I just find it rather upsetting that the Zooming Road Runners have been unable to find a consistent groove among themselves to construct the coolest hot tub that they could ever dream of making before ..."
Jenny looked over to the Road Runners' side and saw what he was talking about: while most of the members were busy working with the hot tub, she noticed that some of the other members were struggling to put their heads together and focus on winning the challenge. Whereas most of the members (Tecna, Ed, Eddy, Rei) were focusing on finishing the hot tub as soon as possible, Trina and Nefera were busy barking orders to the other members; Stella was relaxing on an easy chair, reading a Teen Dreamboat magazine; Riley was causing a minor ruckus with a select few of the older girls on the team; and Johnny, although he was putting in a fair share of work on the hot tub, was busy admiring himself in his own mirror, saying, "Look at me ... how can you not fall in love with a guy who would remind you of a Greek God of a thousand suns?"
"Wow ... I see what you mean, Double D," Jenny said with a sigh.
Virgil then walked up to Jenny and Double D, then said, "Hey, guys, I see you're checking out what the other team is doing over there."
"Why, yes, Virgil," Double D said with a sigh. "I feel kinda sorry for them, to be honest."
"Why? Because they have to be stuck with the two mean girls on their team?" Virgil said while smirking.
"You're not talking about Haruka and Michiru, are you, Virgil?" Jenny asked curiously while raising an eyebrow.
"Not them, Jenny—though they did seem rather aloof when they first arrived on the island," Virgil said as he shrugged his shoulders. "I was actually talking about Nefera and Trina."
"Ah, woe betide the poor souls who end up incurring their wrath during this season," Double D said, inciting confused reactions from Jenny and Virgil. "I'm saying I feel sorry for those who end up being manipulated by them in the long run ..."
"Well, let's hope they don't resort to sabotaging their own team in the long run ..." Virgil said as he, Jenny and Double D walked back to their team to help them put the finishing touches on their hot tub.
Back with the Zooming Road Runners, Rei started to take notice of how far along the Looney Screwballs were when constructing their own hot tub, then she looked at how her team was barely finished with constructing theirs, so she decided to build up their confidence by giving them a rousing speech, a la Michael Jordan to the Tune Squad in Space Jam.
"Alright, everyone, listen up!" Rei said as her teammates rallied around her as she stood up on a nearby crate. "Listen, I know we're down for the count right now, but I've been in situations like this before. Believe me, you could ask Usagi, Michiru, Haruka—heck, even Ami, Makoto, Minako and Setsuna, even though they are on the other team! We've all had moments like this as Sailor Guardians!"
"Hey, just get to the point already!" Eddy shouted as he was busy looking at the instructions. "We've gotta finish this hot tub sooner or later before Bugs gets here!"
"Look, all I'm saying is we can't go down in an embarrassing loss like this! The other team will take advantage of our weaknesses if we go down so easily!" Rei said. "We've gotta prove our worth and show that we could be worthy competitors against them! So, what do you all say: are you with me or not?"
However, she noticed that over half of the Zooming Road Runners were not even paying attention: Eddy was still reading the instuctions, Riley had left a few minutes ago to find some bling to wear for the hot tub party and Wile E. was measuring the 2x4's. Nefera then walked up to Rei and just smiled deviously as she said, "Well, nice speech, Rei; maybe once you are eliminated from the show tonight, you should think about joining the theatre club at your school. At least someone will actually listen to you there."
Nefera just cackled in response, leaving Rei flustered until Usagi walked up to her and said, "Don't listen to her, Rei, I thought you did a great job trying to build up our team's confidence."
Rei just sighed sadly as she said, "Thanks, Usagi, at least I know someone appreciated my efforts of leading this team to victory ..."
"Hey, Rei, come over here and check this out!" Billy shouted from afar.
"Huh? What did Billy do now?" Rei asked while raising an eyebrow.
Usagi could only shrug as she and Rei walked over to where Billy and the other Road Runners were standing, only to find that Billy managed to construct the world's new-fashioned, state-of-the-art, futurstic hot tub of the 21st century! Billy could only smile warmly as he humbly said, "Heh-heh, I don't wanna brag, but ... let's just say I get it from my dad."
"Wow, Billy, this is so amazing!" Rei said in amazement as she examined the hot tub.
"How did you find the time to get all of this done, man?" Norbert asked Billy in a similar tone of amazement and surprise.
"Well, being fueld by Rei's inspirational speech, for one," Billy said as he chuckled warmly, then he noticed Rei tearing up a bit and he asked, "Uh ... Rei, are you feeling okay?"
"I think she's overcome with emotion over the fact that she inspired someone today, Billy," Buster whispered.
"Funny, she didn't keep that same energy when she had that little girl idolized her back in the day," Cindy said with a smirk.
(Confessional Cam: Continuity nods galore! You get a continuity nod, you get a continuity nod, everybody gets a continuity nod!)
Rei: "How did she know about that little girl idolizing me back in the '90s?"
Moments later, Bugs was making his way to the campgrounds with Darius Magnificent and Gin Rummy in tow. Michiru noticed them coming from afar as she told Rei, "Hey, Rei, it sounds like Bugs is ready to judge our hot tubs!"
"Perfect, and both teams' hot tubs are ready to be judged!" Rei said with a smile. "Alright, everyone, make sure nothing bad happens to the hot tub while we get ready!"
However, once Rei made this statement, the joy among the Zooming Road Runners would turn into complete and utter shock when they noticed that the hot tub was destroyed moments later. Billy seemed to be shocked by this as he said, "What in the—how the—who the—what the—I literally just spent the past five minutes constructing the coolest hot tub in the Animation Multiverse! Who made a mess of this thing?!"
Riley then coolly walked up to Billy and said, "Yo, Billy, I think your answer is right in the woods."
To everyone's shock and surprise, they all noticed the Tasmanian Devil standing in the woods, looking at the Zooming Road Runners from afar, laughing in complete joy as he said, "Oops, sorry, Taz just couldn't help himself ..."
Billy could only palm his face in disappointment as he said, "To think, I thought the writer of this episode was going to cut us a break for once."
Rei seemed to be more upset than Billy was, as she fell down to the ground on her knees, tears welling in her eyes as she said, "But—but ... it was so beautiful ... Billy had the perfect specifications made for our hot tub ..."
However, just as to rub salt in one's wound, Trina then walked up to Rei and whispered, "Well, I guess Billy's skills weren't good enough to construct a hot tub that wouldn't get destroyed by the one and only Tasmanian Devil!"
As Trina and Nefera laughed at Rei and Billy's misfortune, Eddy could only turn to the two and say, "Sheesh, you two know how to kick somebody when they're down, huh?"
"Oh, please, Eddy! Since when do you care about someone else's feelings?" Nefera said in an indignant tone.
"Yeah, you only care about swindling money from all of the kids in your neighborhood and even your own friends!" Trina said in between her laughing.
"Yeah, but at least I'm still straight with people!" Eddy said in a defensive tone.
Once Bugs, Gin Rummy and Darius made their way to the campgrounds to judge both teams' respective hot tubs, Bugs took notice of Rei breaking down in tears, leaving Bugs confused as he said to the contestants, "Eh ... does someone want to tell me why Rei is crying her eyes out? I thought that was Usagi's department."
"Hey! What is that supposed to mean?" Usagi said in a surprised tone.
"Hey, I'm just saying, Usagi!" Bugs said in defense.
"Uh, Bugs ... I would tell you about it, but it's a long story," Billy said to Bugs while rolling his eyes.
"Not to mention it's been a long day as well," Numbah 5 said.
Eventually, Bugs decided to judge the hot tubs of both teams: while he was surprised about how destroyed the Road Runners' hot tub looked due to the aforementioned destruction by the Tasmanian Devil, he was pretty impressed by how the Looney Screwballs managed to make their hot tub look so sleek, smooth and technically-advanced. The Screwballs also took notice of the destroyed hot tub for the Road Runners as Mordecai said, "Listen, hate to be the one who has to ask this question, but ... how does a super-cool hot tub like yours get destroyed in the span of five minutes?"
Suddenly, the Screwballs heard Taz babbling and spinning around in the background, which lead to Mordecai saying, "Oh, yeah, that's how it happens ..."
"Wait a minute, how did Taz even find his way up here to Camp Wawanakwa?" Dib said in a surprised tone. "In fact, how did Daffy manage to find his way up here in the first episode, not to mention Pesto making an appearance in the confessional cam?"
Bugs could only shrug his shoulders as he said, "Don't look at me, Dib; I don't ask for the guests, I just host this thing."
(Confessional Cam: Where every Toon knows about the rules of comedy)
Numbah 1: "I thought he was going to say something to the effect of 'It's only comedy'."
"Anyway ... I guess it's no contest," Bugs said while smirking at the audience. "The winners of the first challenge of the season ... are the Looney Screwballs!"
As the Looney Screwballs cheered for their first victory of the season, Bugs turned to the Zooming Road Runners and said, "As for the Zooming Road Runners ... well, what more can I say? You guys will have to send home one of your own teammates for the elimination ceremony tonight at the campfire pit ..."
While the Zooming Road Runners looked rather downtrodden about their loss, Darius walked up with the Animated All-Star Award in his hand as he cleared his throat and said, "Alright, before we engage in the elimination ceremonies tonight, let's get to this quick award ceremon. Without further ado, the first Animated All-Star Award of the season goes to ...
...
...
...
...
...
...
... Virgil Hawkins, for his impressive jump during the first part of the challenge and for playing an integral role as the mentor for his fellow Looney Screwballs, which ultimately led to their first victory of the season."
Virgil just smiled in response as Darius handed him the Animated All-Star Award, then his fellow members of the Looney Screwballs picked him up and cheered for him. While the Screwballs were celebrating their victory and making their preparations for their cool hot tub party later this evening, the Road Runners were walking back to their cabin, discussing who they were going to vote off of the show tonight.
"So, ehhh ... does anyone have a clear idea of who they're going to vote off of the show tonight?" Yakko asked his fellow Road Runners while they were walking through the campgrounds.
"No," Cindy said.
"Not even a close thought, Yakko," Mandy said while shaking her head.
"I wish I had a clear idea about who I think should go home by now," Wakko said as he sighed. "Uh ... who were you thinking about voting off, Yakko?"
"To be honest with you, Wakko, I really don't know," Yakko said while shrugging. "I mean, the only obvious targets we have are Nefera and Trina."
Eddy then rushed up to Yakko and said, "What are you talking about, Yakko? Why are you bringing that up out loud?!"
Yakko was confused by Eddy's quick outburst as he said in a confused tone, "Eddy, just what are you talking about?"
"I'm saying you gotta know how these reality shows work!" Eddy whispered. "Even if we do everything in our power to vote off Nefera or Trina, they will find a way to manipulate our fellow teammates to vote off someone else!"
Yakko and Wakko were both surprised by Eddy's assessment, but they decided to take his word for it as they continued to think about who they were going to vote for before the elimination ceremony tonight. Unbeknownst to any of the other members, Nefera and Trina were actually becoming aware of how their teammates were going to vote tonight and knew they needed to put a stop to it.
(Confessional Cam: A first-hand look into the elimination process)
Riley: "Just take a clear guess at who I'm voting for tonight. Just take one quick guess ..."
Rei: "I've already been through a lot today with this hot tub challenge. I really don't care about who we vote off tonight at this point, but whatever happens, happens ..."
Michiru: "I actually felt bad for Rei today. She was trying real hard to raise the team's morale for the challenge and, when things were looking up for us, those chances for a victory were ripped away from us *snaps* just like that. *sighs* I wonder who we're voting off of the show tonight ..."
Mandy: "Well, obviously, the two popular targets on the chopping block for elimination are Nefera and Trina, seeing as how they barely contributed to the construction of our hot tub and only laughed at our misfortune when it was destroyed by the Tasmanian Devil. Then again, Ed was busy goofing off like a carefree idiot, Zim was acting like a megalomaniacal egotist and Ami didn't even bother taking the high dive off of the cliff earlier today ..."
Nefera: "I know those losers are going to try everything in their power to get either me or Trina voted off of this island, but I know how to manipulate them into voting off another certain somebody ..."
(Elimination Ceremony at the Campfire Pit: 8:30 p.m.)
Moments later, the Zooming Road Runners were all seated and accounted for at the campfire pit, awaiting for Bugs to arrive with the results of the elimination. Bugs then walked out with 29 marshmallows on a plate and addressed the Road Runners, saying, "Zooming Road Runners ... this is a marshmallow and this marshmallow represents life. This marshmallow serves as a key to your—you know what? How about I just bypass the explanation and get down to the nitty-gritty? Besides, all anyone cares about is who gets voted off on these shows. Anyway, you all have cast your votes and made your final decision for tonight; I have 29 marshmallows on this plate and there are only 30 of you. One of you will take the walk on the Dock of Shame, board the Boat of Maroons and leave this island ... FOR GOOD, never to return at any point. With all of that said and done, when I call your name, be prepared to catch your marshmallow—seriously, you guys need to work on your cat-like reflexes for some of the physical challenges as the season goes on. Alright, so the first marshmallow goes to ... Yakko."
Yakko then mimed wiping the sweat away from his forehead as he caught his marshmallow.
"Wakko."
"Faboo!" Wakko said as he caught his marshmallow in his mouth.
"Eddy."
"Oh, yeah, baby! Who's the man with the plan?" Eddy said as he caught his marshmallow and exchanged high-fives with Ed.
"You are the man, Eddy!" Ed said with a smile.
"Ed."
"Oh, boy! Oh, boy! Oh, boy!" Ed said as he caught his marshmallow with ease.
"Usagi."
Usagi smiled warmly as she caught the marshmallow in her hands.
"Rei."
Rei's face then beamed with a big smile as she caught her marshmallow, then she received a hug from Usagi, who said, "See, Rei? I knew everything would work out in the end!"
Rei could only blush upon receiving this hug from Usagi, but she then shrugged it off and hugged her back.
(Confessional Cam: We interrupt this dramatic elimination ceremony for this random announcement!)
Bugs: "I think you folks at home better start marking your FanFiction Shipping Bingo Cards at this point. No, seriously, I know how you guys and girls try to set up these couple pairings in these stories ..."
"Cindy, Layla, Haruka, Michiru, Ami, Yumi, Riley," Bugs said as he passed a marshmallow to each of the aforementioned contestants.
"Draculaura, Nefera, Numbah 5, Roxy, Tecna, Wile E., Buster, Babs," Bugs said as each of the aforementioned contestants received their marshmallow.
"Cleo, Zim, Clover, Norbert, Stella, Mandy and Johnny," Bugs said as he passed the last set of marshmallows to the respective contestants, leaving only Billy and Trina as the last two.
Bugs then picked up the last marshmallow and took a good look at both Billy and Trina as he declared, "Well, here we are, folks: the last marshmallow of the night. One of you two will be leaving this island, never to return after tonight's vote. Could the person in question leaving the island be Trina, who, like Nefera, seems to be racking up more enemies by the minute ..."
Trina just scoffed in response to Bugs' comment, while Nefera just growled at Bugs from afar.
"... or could it be Billy for ... okay, seriously, why would you guys even vote him off? He didn't even cause you guys to lose the challenge today," Bugs said while raising an eyebrow.
"Well, we could've went ahead and voted for Taz if he was a contestant on the show, but he wasn't an option," Stella said while shrugging her shoulders.
"Indeed. Well, anywho, the Toons have spoken and the final marshmallow of the night goes to ...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
... Trina."
Trina then caught her marshmallow, smiling with glee as she laughed at Billy and said, "Yes! Buh-bye, loser Billy!"
"What?!" Some of the Road Runners said in shock.
"Wait a minute, that's impossible!" Numbah 5 said in a surprised tone. "How did Billy rack up so many votes in such a short period of time? He doesn't even have a lot of enemies!"
"Well, that's what the voting results said, Numbah 5," Bugs said, holding up the voting results sheet.
Eddy then turned to Ed and asked, "Ed, who did you vote for?"
"I voted for the cookie, Eddy," Ed said as he smiled without a care in the world, inciting a confused response from Eddy.
"Now, wait a minute, let's think about this," Haruka said as she rubbed her chin. "There's no way everybody here just automatically voted for Billy because I remember voting for Trina."
"Yeah, and I voted for Nefera!" Riley said as he stood up.
"From what I saw from the results earlier, Nefera and Trina were practically neck-and-neck to see who would be eliminated first," Norbert said. "Well, them and I did see a few votes for Ami and Zim, but that's another story."
"Why would anyone want to vote me off of the show?" Ami said in a surprised tone.
"Because you didn't jump during the high-dive portion of the challenge," Babs said in a rather blunt and straightforward tone, inciting an annoyed look from Ami.
(Confessional Cam: Love hurts, and so does honesty)
Babs: "Well, that was the truth! You can't get mad at a cartoon character who's honest!"
"Anyway, the point we're trying to make here is ... who set up the voting so that Billy would be the first one eliminated from our team?" Clover asked curiously.
"Listen, there's no need to prolong the process, ladies and gentlemen!" Nefera said as she grabbed Billy's bags and threw them at the kid himself. "Sorry, Billy, but you've got to get out of here!"
"Plus, you will never, ever, ever come back on the show for as long as we live!" Trina said as a devious smile appeared on her face.
"I think that can be arranged," Mandy muttered in a dark tone.
Billy then turned to Bugs, who walked up to the young guy and said, "Sorry it had to go down like this, Billy, but, allegedly, the Toons have spoken."
Billy just sighed sadly as he looked at his fellow Road Runners and said, "Well, at least I had some fun during my short time here at Camp Wawanakwa. Goodbye, everybody, I'll miss you all!"
The rest of the Road Runners, aside from Nefera and Trina, all waved goodbye to Billy as he boarded the Boat of Maroons, but before he left for good, he had enough time to say, "Hey, guys, don't be so sad. After all, this is only the first episode of the season. One day, our paths will cross again in the near future, but for now, just make it through this season with the best of your abilities and make this the best season yet! Go, Road Runners!"
As the Boat of Maroons rode away out of sight, the other Road Runners just walked back into their cabin while the Screwballs will still having their awesome hot tub party. Ami M. took notice of how sad some of the Zooming Road Runners were after what had happened today, then she thought to herself, "I just wish there was something our team could do to cheer them up after what had transpired today ..."
(Confessional Cam: Another night of The Whodunnit Mysteries, starring the Zooming Road Runners!)
Norbert: "I don't know about you folks at home, but I'm starting to think something was really suspicious about this elimination ceremony tonight."
Usagi: "I really don't understand it. How did Billy get so many votes within a short timeframe? Last I remember, Trina was the top choice to go home tonight."
Eddy: "I knew, I just knew this was going to happen! Nefera and Trina ended up rigging the voting, so they could stay at the island ... all at Billy's expense!"
Riley: "This is just a bunch of bull, man. Taz ended up destroying our super-cool, state-of-the-art hot tub today and Billy—no, not Nefera or Trina, Billy—ended up getting the boot tonight. Now, we're already one man short compared to the Looney Screwballs! I swear, if those girls make it their mission to sabotage our team so they could make it all the way into the finals, just know one thing: I'll give them a taste of that same energy ..."
Mandy: "I am just utterly appalled at how Billy got the boot in the first episode, but I am just as surprised as how Trina managed to get the easy way out of this elimination, compared to Billy."
Trina: "Okay, so let's just get one thing straight here: everyone's thinking that I, like, rigged the voting tonight to get that little weirdo off of the island, but I had nothing to do with it! I was just a victim of some unforseen circumstances! Besides, I may be mean, but I'm not that, like, callous towards other people! Well ... sometimes ..."
Nefera: "Excellent, everything is going according to plan! I couldn't risk any major shake-ups to my budding alliance, so I had to pull some strings to keep Trina on the island. Besides, the girl's got a lot of moxie ..."
Once the Zooming Road Runners left the campfire pit, Bugs then turned to the audience and said, "Well, that's all, folks! That's one contestant down, 59 to go ... Will the Zooming Road Runners ever solve the mystery behind Billy's shocking elimination? Will the Looney Screwballs extend their streak to two wins in a row by the next challenge? Find out next time on the next, all-new episode of Total ... Warners ... Island!"
"That's all, folks!"
Chapter 2 Completed
Eliminated: Billy
Animated All-Star Award Winners: Virgil
Well, that concludes Part 2 to the pilot of this series. It looks like Billy is the first one eliminated. To be honest, I didn't think he would last long in the competition, but I did add another layer to his character, other than the stereotypical 'carefree idiot' role that tends to show up in these types of fanfics. However, his mysterious elimination does serve as the starting point to an underlying subplot in this story, involving a series of questionable eliminations and the driving force behind said eliminations. Also, you'll notice that I drop hints about the alliance that is planned by Trina and Nefera, which will serve as the starting point for their roles in the story.
Also, I noticed that the Looney Screwballs didn't have a lot of focus in this chapter, compared to the first chapter. Hopefully, that will change in the next chapter. As always, I hope you guys are enjoying this because there's more where this came from!
