Looney Tunes Reality Check: Total Warners Island
Season 1, Episode 3: "Sweet Dreams for Naught"
(narrated by Bugs Bunny, recapping events from the previous episode)
"Previously on Total Warners Island, our contestants came face-to-face with their first challenge of the season: jumping off of a 30-foot cliff into a lake that was infested with sharks! While most of the contestants stepped up to the first part of the challenge, others resorted to wear the dreaded chicken hat. Following the hijinks with the water diving, the campers had to construct their own super-cool hot tub for the second part of the challenge. In the end, the Looney Screwballs pulled out a surprise win and Virgil Hawkins won the show's first Animated All-Star Award.
In the end, under mysterious circumstances, Billy ended up being the first contestant to walk the dreaded Dock of Shame and board the Boat of Maroons. Although things went smoothly, according to Nefera and Trina, the other Road Runners suspect that foul play was afoot.
Anyway, could the Zooming Road Runners rebound from all of what happened during the last challenge, can the Looney Screwballs extend their winning streak to two and will any more mysterious eliminations continue into this episode? Find out the answers to all of this and more on this week's episode of Total ... Warners ... Island!"

Chapter 3 (Episode 3, Week 2) – Season 1: Sweet Dreams for Naught
A week after Billy's surprising elimination from the Zooming Road Runners, the contestants were busy sleeping in their respective cabins until Gin Rummy suddenly appeared at the center of the campgrounds and took note of how the contestants were sleeping like little angels. Gin Rummy then turned to the audience and whispered, "Y'all gotta keep it down for a moment, the contestants are all sleeping like little angels ..."
Suddenly, Rummy then pulled out a loudspeaker and shouted, "WAKE UP, EVERYBODY! YOU GOTTA MEET UP WITH THE HOST WITH THE HOST, BUGS BUNNY, FOR YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE OF THE SEASON! THAT IS ALL!"
Rummy's loudspeaker announcement caused some of the contestants to fall out of their bunk beds, with Layla bumping her head on the top bunk bed in her head, causing her to cry out, "OW!"
Layla started rubbing her head as she said to Rummy, "Aw, come on, Gin Rummy! It's only seven o'clock in the morning! You really couldn't wait until nine o'clock or, at the very least, a more reasonable time?"
Rummy then peeked into the girls' side of the Zooming Road Runners' cabin and continued shouting through his loudspeaker, "NO! NOW, GET OUT OF THOSE BEDS AND GET YOUR BUTTS OUT HERE TO MEET BUGS OR YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK FOR ELIMINATION TONIGHT! NOW, ONCE AGAIN, THAT! IS! ALL!"
Once Rummy left the cabin, his outburst caused the girls of the Zooming Road Runners to wake up and rubbed their heads, due to the sudden wake-up call from the former drill sergeant. Stella rubbed her eyes as she walked over to Layla and said, "Ugh ... why did Gin Rummy think the loudspeaker routine was going to get us up quicker?"
Layla just shrugged her shoulders in response as Michiru said, "If you ask me, I think he was just trying to be funny ... well, funny in his own twisted way ..."
(Confessional Cam: The World According to Riley Freeman)
Riley: "Maybe this is just me or maybe it's just that I haven't seen Rummy since he and Ed III were arrested by Jack Flowers at the end of my show's third season, but ... Rummy seems to be on edge as of late, acting more like a drill sergeant version of Samuel L. Jackson than, well ... a white Samuel L. Jackson."
Moments later, the contestants were standing around at the campgrounds, waiting for Bugs Bunny to arrive and give them some much-needed information about the next challenge. While they were waiting, Mordecai took notice of Grim looking more tired than usual as he said, "Dude, Grim ... why do you look like you just got run over by a lawnmower?"
"Mordecai, when Gin Rummy woke all of us up with that loudspeaker wake-up call, I was stuck between a rock and a hard place in terms of going back to sleep and staying awake to hear what Bugs had to say about this challenge ..." Grim said as he rubbed his head.
"You're telling me," Brandy said as she groaned for a bit. "How's a girl supposed to get her beauty sleep with the loud-mouthed drill sergeant serving as our chef?"
Grim and Mordecai just stared at each other as Mordecai chuckled and awkwardly said, "Hahaaa ... yeahhh ... beauty sleep ..."
Grim could only raise an eyebrow at the bluejay, then just shook his head as he said to himself, "Don't even fight it, Grim, just stick to your own devices."
Mordecai just stood there, flustered at how Grim reacted to his comment, so he walked up to Brandy and said, "Uh, Brandy, you don't think I'm too awkward, do you?"
Brandy tried to think of an answer for Mordecai, but she just backed away as she said, "Uh ... listen, Mordecai, don't take this the wrong way, but ... I think Makoto just called me. See ya later."
As Brandy walked away from Mordecai, the bluejay just stood there, dumbfounded, then Rigby walked up to him as he said, "Mordecai, would you care to explain how you manage to drive Brandy and Grim away from you simultaneously?"
Mordecai just responded by giving Rigby a punchie, much to the raccoon's annoyance as he said, "Dude, what'd I say now?!"
"Sorry, dude, force of habit," Mordecai said as he smiled sheepishly.
Before Rigby could respond with a smart-aleck comment at Mordecai's expense, he was interrupted by Bugs walking up to the contestants and saying, "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! Eh, apologies for the bad wake-up call from Gin Rummy earlier today."
"That's an understatement, Bugs," Minako said as she tried to fix her hair up, seeing as how it was still frizzy from when she woke up to said wake-up call. "I just wish I had brought my brush with me 'cause it'll take me a while to get my hair fixed up back to the way it was."
"Once again, apologies for the bad wake-up call," Bugs said as he warmly chuckled. "See, Gin Rummy just wanted to make sure that you all were ready for the insanity of this week's upcoming challenge. Well, aside from the rude awakening this morning, I hope you all had a good night's sleep last night because the first part of your challenge will begin in exactly one minute."
Wakko took a quick look at his watch, then turned to Bugs and asked, "Hey, excuse me, Bugs, is that going to be enough time for us to socialize with our fellow cast members and get some good breakfast?"
Bugs could only smirk and snicker in response as he said, "Oh, trust me, Wakko, it should be enough time for you guys because you all have to engage in a 20-kilometer run around the ..."
Suddenly, the rabbit heard the sounds of the contestants running off, then Bugs turned to see that the contestants were all rushing to the starting line, hoping to get an early start on the first part of the challenge as Bugs finished his sentence, "... island."
(Confessional Cam: Personal thoughts on the challenges ahead in today's episode)
Wakko: "This 20-kilometer run around the island should be a sweet piece of cake! Besides, my siblings and I tend to run around the Warner Bros. Studios lot most of the time, usually wreaking havoc on the lot; messing with Mr. Plotz; driving our psycho-analyst, Dr. Scratchansniff, crazy; or just to evade the clutches of the studio guard, Ralph."
Trina: "I seriously question how this part of today's challenge is considered to be, like, 'insane' as Bugs makes it out to be."
Minutes later, Bugs and Gin Rummy managed to catch up with the contestants, who were waiting for the rabbit to give them the signal to start the 20K run around the island. Bugs then walked over to one side of the starting line as he held up an air horn, turning to the contestants as he said, "Alright, ladies and gentlemen, this one should be self-explanatory: engage in a 20K run around the island and meet back in the mess hall for a special treat. Good luck, folks, and see you in the mess hall! Alright, now, get on your marks ... get set ..."
When Bugs pressed the air horn, he proceeded to cover his ears as a traffic light stand popped out of the air horn and the green light quickly lit up to signal the start of the 20K run, causing the contestants to engage in their 20K run around the island.
However, nobody on the cast, not even the hosts, was expecting the weather to be as hot as it was today, so the heat was beginning to take its toll on some of the contestants. Some of the contestants were lucky enough to stay strong and continue the run despite the heatwave, but the other contestants were not as fortunate due to the lack of hydration. Even then, there were some other contestants, like Nefera, who weren't affected by the heatwave, but were too stubborn to make an impact for their respective teams.
(Confessional Cam: Cynicism runs amok in this confessional trailer)
Nefera: "Okay, I have to make two things clear to the viewers at home who are willing to listen to me ... first off, I don't run and, secondly, I definitely don't run in high heels!"
While the other contestants were trying to survive the 20K run to the mess hall, Nefera proceeded to walk at a steady pace until she stopped to see Ed lapping up water from a nearby stream, with the tallest of the Eds saying, "I need water before I fall out of dehydration ... my life is literally flashing before my eyes!"
"What life are you talking about, Ed? You're just wasting all of this time lapping up all of this water instead of running into the mess hall to beat those Looney Screwballs!" Nefera said in a half-annoyed, half-irritated tone.
Michiru then ran past Ed and Nefera as she said, "Hey, why don't you lay off of Ed, Nefera?"
Nefera felt rather flustered by Michiru's defending of Ed as she said in an annoyed tone, "Oh, why are you so worried about how I am treating our teammates? I thought you were worrying about your closest best friend more than the other contestants!"
(Confessional Cam: Startling revelations! Elimination secrets! Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'N Out returns June 29th at 11:00 p.m.!)
Michiru (blushing and lightly giggling): "Well, I wouldn't exactly say 'closest best friend', but ... *clears her throat* Haruka and I are pretty close ..."
Yakko (pops his head in the confessional trailer, blowing a kiss to the audience): "Goodnight, everybody!"
Michiru blushed for a bit, then she shook her head and cleared her throat as she said, "Listen, I think you should worry less about Ed and my personal relationship with Haruka, and more about completing the 20K run to the mess hall!"
Michiru proceeded to continue the 20K run to the mess hall, just as Gin Rummy rode past the contestants on a dune buggy as he said through his loudspeaker, "I suggest you pick up the pace, slackers! If you are not in the mess hall by dinner time, you are going to be having nothing but hungry headaches for the rest of the evening!"
Nefera could only scowl at Gin Rummy as she muttered to herself, "Ugh! I can't stand how much of a jerk he is! Didn't he used to be more laidback on The Boondocks, at least compared to his friend and associate Ed Wuncler III?"
Before Nefera decided to continue her walk through the 20K run, Ed suddenly jumped up at Rummy's comment of no dinner as he said, "No dinner?! I must get to the mess hall before nightfall! Dinner good for Ed!"
Once Ed jumped up from drinking at the water stream, he started to finish his 20K run to the mess hall, unknowingly knocking Nefera into the nearby water stream where he was just drinking from. Nefera could only growl as Ed continued making his way to the way, then she noticed her hair as a full-blown mess as she said in an annoyed tone, "Oh, that Ed is so going to pay dearly for this!"
A few moments later, most of the contestants were sitting at the different tables in the mess hall, waiting for the rest of the cast to arrive. Out of all of the contestants who were currently in the mess hall, some of said contestants were looking completely exhausted following the 20K run, while the other contestants were feeling more relaxed. Bugs was busy reading a Hollywood-style magazine while they were waiting for the rest of the contestants. Suddenly, everyone jumped up in surprise as Ed burst through the doors, holding Wile E. on his shoulders as he said, "Clear a table stat, folks! The wiley coyote has lost consciousness!"
While Ed attempted to revive the genius coyote on the table where the Zooming Road Runners were gathered around him and Wile E., Layla walked into the mess hall and asked Bugs, "Uh, hey, guys ... did I miss anything?"
"Nope, you're right on time, Layla," Bugs said with a smirk as he pointed to his watch.
As Layla walked up to her teammates, she noticed that Ed was performing the Hemlich maneuver to revive Wile E., then he tried the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation routine ... that is, until he was stopped by Eddy squeezing his lips together as he said, "Ed, you idiot, don't do that! Don't you remember what happened the last two times you tried to do CPR?"
Eddy proceeded to let go of his friend's lips as Ed thought about it for a moment, then he said, "Didn't I manage to revive you in our Valentine's Day special and Jimmy after that time you set up a scam that involved Double D dressed up as a monster?"
Eddy just palmed his face in annoyance while giving a heated sigh, then Haruka walked up to Eddy, smirking a bit as she said, "So, Eddy ... what was this about Ed having to perform CPR on you during that 'Valentine's Day Special'?"
Eddy then blushed in response as he said, "Ed literally knocked me out by eating a stinkin' onion, thus causing me to temporarily lose consciousness!"
"How did you manage to use such a big word like 'consciousness', Eddy?" Babs said while smirking. "I guess some of what you learned from school and what Double D told you must've rubbed off on you."
"Oh, shut up," Eddy said under his breath.
Back with the Looney Screwballs, Makoto started looking around the mess hall as Ami M. looked at her and said, "Uh, Makoto ... is there something wrong?"
"No, it's just that ... where's Double D?" Makoto asked curiously.
Ed then overheard Makoto's question, then he rushed to the door as he turned back to his team and the Looney Screwballs, and said, "Do not adjust your set."
As Ed left the mess hall, Eddy ran after him for a bit as he said from the door, "Ed, where are you going?! Bugs has a special tracking video system that could help us pinpoint Double D's—"
Before Eddy could finish his sentence, Ed came back with Double D in tow as he said, "Ah, false alarm, Eddy, Double D was a few feet away from the mess hall. We thought you were lost in the woods somewhere, lucky trooper ..."
"What took ya, Ed?" Eddy asked curiously.
"I watch cartoons, Eddy," Ed said as he sat Double D in between Makoto and Minako.
Double D was trying to catch his breath after the long 20K run, then once he managed to get his breath back, he noticed he was sitting between Makoto and Minako, causing him to jump up in shock as he cleared his throat and nervously said, "Oh, uh, pardon me, ladies, I, uh, I hope I didn't interrupt a conversation you two were having."
Makoto and Minako just looked at each other for a bit, then they looked at Double D as Minako giggled lightly and said, "Oh, don't worry, Double D."
Makoto proceeded to rub Double D's head as she smiled and said, "We were just wondering where you were, but it's good to know that you're okay."
Double D just blushed shyly in response as Brandy walked up to her three teammates and said, "Well, I hate to throw a damper on this quick reunion special, but ... Double D, do you realize we just lost the challenge to those Road Runners?!"
Brandy's statement seemed to dawn on Cindy as she said, "Wait a minute here ... if the Looney Screwballs lost, that means we won the challenge!"
The entire Road Runners team cheered for their first victory of the season—even Wile E. Coyote, who seemed to be faking his unconscious state. However, Bugs stepped up and decided to clarify the terms of the actual challenge as he said, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute, docs and doctresses! I only said that this was the first part of the challenge; besides, you still have to go through the next two parts of this bad boy."
Suddenly, the Road Runners felt that their cheers for victory were rather premature as Sam asked curiously, "So, Bugs ... what's the second part of this challenge?"
She was summarily answered by Bugs walking up to a nearby curtain, then pulling the rope for said curtain to reveal a massive feast Gin Rummy had made for the contestants as he coolly said, "Would anyone care to dig into this serene cuisine?"
The contestants all looked at the grand display of a buffet in complete amazement as Ed said, "Time to dig into the divine cuisine, buckaroos!"
(Confessional Cam: They are all going to regret that buffet after this quick 'Confessional Cam' segment, folks ...)
Babs: "To be honest, I thought I'd seen everything within the timeslot of the first two episodes, but I almost fell to the ground and cried at the mercy of the idea that Gin Rummy actually put in all of that time and effort into making that amazing buffet."
Wakko: "This is actually one of the few times I had ever seen a really decked-out buffet table. To be honest, the last time I saw a table that stacked was when Yakko, Dot and I had the Big Wrap Party in our watertower on the Warner Bros. Studios lot."
Double D: "I guess I should save some of the food for our new refrigerator since there seems to be a lot of items ripe for the picking. Plus, it would be nice to get an early start on stacking up the refrigerator for my team."
Usagi: "If there's one thing in this big, beautiful world that I love more than Mamoru—okay, maybe not that much—it's that amazing food! What? Just call it a weakness."
While the contestants were still chowing down on the buffet that Gin Rummy had made for them, Bugs and Gin Rummy were walking through the campgrounds, having a conversation about how the show was going to be run and if the contestants were comfortable with the current conditions of their living arrangements until Bugs said, "Say, Rummy, how do you think the contestants are enjoying your food right now?"
Gin Rummy then took a look at his watch, then turned back to Bugs and said, "Strictly speaking, Bugs ... some of them must be complaining about the feeling of full stomachs by now."
"Boy, I'd hate to know that feeling," Bugs said as he chuckled warmly.
"Didn't you feel it once when you chowed down on that giant carrot while you and Daffy went up that giant beanstalk ... or even when you became obsessed with Porky's catering because he was using a lot of butter?" Gin Rummy said while smirking at the rabbit.
Bugs just shuddered in response as he said, "Sheesh ... don't remind me, Rummy. It took a while to lose all of that weight after I went overboard eating most of Porky's catering ..."
Eventually, Bugs and Gin Rummy had returned to the mess hall, seeing that Gin Rummy's early prediction about the contestants was actually correct as most of the contestants were complaining about full stomachs, though some of the contestants didn't look as if they had eaten a lot of food—though they did feel full after eating Gin Rummy's cooking. As a matter of fact, in Double D's case, he had actually saved some of the food for the Screwballs' fridge.
"Well, what do you know, Bugs?" Gin Rummy said as he surveyed the table, smirking at Bugs and the contestants. "It looks like the contestants really binged out on the buffet tonight. Oh, before I forget, did anyone save any room for some ... dessert?"
Some of the contestants' stomachs growled as they groaned in response to Gin Rummy's comment, then Bugs said, "Eh, Rummy ... I think that'll be enough for one night, doc. Anyway, docs and doctresses, I hope that buffet was worth it because it's time for the third part of your challenge!"
"Oh, you've got to be kiddin' me!" Daggett said as he lifted his head up from the floor where he was laying.
"Ugh, wasn't that 20k fun run and the unlimited Thanksgiving buffet enough?" Jen said as she held her swollen stomach.
Bloom was also clutching her stomach, trying not to throw up as she said, "Oof ... ugh, I gotta side with Jen here, Bugs. Don't you guys think we've been through enough already?"
"Well, eh ... you know what they say, Bloom: 'It's not over 'til the fat lady sings'," Bugs said with a smirk while wiggling his eyebrows up and down.
The contestants just stared at Bugs, confused about his previous statement as Gin Rummy said, "Basically, what Bugs is saying is that you all haven't been through the whole challenge yet. Besides, it's time for your real challenge: the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon!"
"The Ultimate What-a-Thon?" Ed asked through his swollen cheeks.
"Don't worry, this is only a simple endurance test," Gin Rummy explained as he walked up to the contestants. "The team who has the most contestants awake by the end of the challenge win this awake-a-thon easily and the players of the winning team will not only win invincibility, but one will receive the coveted Animated All-Star Award!"
While some of the contestants all beamed up with smiles at the mention of the Animated All-Star Award, Jen could only look at Gin Rummy skeptically as she said, "Wait a minute, so what you're really saying is that the 20k fun run and the jam-packed Thanksgiving buffet was just part of your ridiculous, yet astonishingly clever plan to make it harder for all of us to stay awake?"
"That's right, Jen!"
Makoto then leaned towards Jen and whispered, "You gotta give it to Gin Rummy, Jen, he's good."
"Yeah, real good ..." Jen said.
Gin Rummy proceeded to pull out his signature loudspeaker and shout, "Alright, you maggots! Let's roll up out of here and get this slumber party started!"
At Gin Rummy's call, he, Bugs and the contestants left the mess hall and gathered around at the campfire pit where the contestants all prepared to get the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon over with.
(Confessional Cam: Do you folks seriously pay attention to these 'Confessional Cam' segments?)
Daggett: "Hey, let me let you guys and girls in on a little secret: this challenge should be a synch to win. Besides, Norby and I literally stayed up late for weeks on end! Listen, I don't know how Norb and I managed to get back to normal after that killer weeklong session, but man, was that an awesome experience!"
Eddy: "I'm hoping that my team actually wins this challenge easily, so we could manage to be evenly-matched with the Looney Screwballs. Personally, I hope Ed doesn't fall asleep on our side because if he does, he's just going to sleepwalk all over the place, causing chaos for who-knows-what at who-knows-where! Last time Lumpy got caught up in his sleepwalking antics, he seriously stole a ship-in-a-bottle from the dreaded Kanker Sisters! It's a good thing those Kankers just decided to take their ship-in-a-bottle and leave us alone for once ... at least until I got my finger stuck in the faucet of Double D's sink."
(12 hours later)
By the morning hours, the contestants were still sitting around the campfire pit, "actively" competing in the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon. While most of the contestants looked like reasonable facsimiles of lifeless zombies due to 12 hours of sleep deprivation, Ed was moving around the campfire pit excitedly, saying, "Stay awake for 12 hours? Aw, this is all child's play! I could easily stay awake for 12 hours in my sleep!"
"Stay awake for 12 hours in your sleep?" Double D said in a confused tone. "Uh, Ed, you do realize that it is impossible to actually—uh, Ed?"
Before Double D could correct Ed's statement, Ed had already fallen asleep, making him the first contestant and the first player of the Zooming Road Runners to be eliminated from the challenge. Eddy could only palm his face in annoyance as he said, "Oh, come on, Ed! Not again!"
Grim just shook his head at this as he said, "Well, that was such a short-lived sense of confidence."
(Confessional Cam: Difficulty spikes are to be expected for reality shows of this caliber)
Finn: "Okay, to be honest here, this has got to be the hardest challenge we have had so far this season."
As an exhausted Cindy hit the ground, thus taking the Road Runners' number down to only 27 contestants, Babs and Buster decided to pass the time by observing the competition around them.
Babs yawned for a bit as she said, "Hey, Buster, do you know how long this challenge will go on?"
"Hard to say, but under the current circumstances, I would say it would be at least 108 hours before they find an actual winner amidst all the madness," Buster said. "Why? How long do you think this will last?"
"Personally speaking, approximately 90 hours or so," Babs said while yawning again.
"Well, hey, it could be a whole lot worse," Buster said.
"Really? How so?" Babs asked while raising an eyebrow.
Buster then smiled and put his arm around Babs as he said, "Well, I would be stuck without somebody like you to talk to."
Babs' face then lit up with a smile as she jumped into Buster's arms and kissed his cheek while saying, "Gosh, Buster, I didn't know ya still cared for me like that!"
Suddenly, Darius walked into the campfire pit with a set of coffee cups, saying to the contestants, "Alright, everyone, who would like a nice, hot cup of coffee?"
"Hand me that coffee, dude!" Mordecai called as he quickly grabbed a cup of coffee, then passed one of said coffee cups to Jude while Darius passed two cups to Buster and Yakko.
Once Buster and Yakko started taking a sip from their coffee cups, Rei sniffed one of them and noticed that something was rather ... off about how this coffee was made. Hoping to get to the bottom of this, she decided to walk up to Darius and ask, "Hey, Darius, what did you use to make this coffee? It smells ... weird."
"Oh, y'know, the usual suspects: just some milk, sugar, powder ..." Darius said as both Buster and Yakko realized what he just said.
The two cartoon characters spat out their coffee as Buster shouted, "Wait a minute ... did you just say P-P-POWDER?!"
"Quick! I gotta find a bottle of water before the powder ... starts taking ... effect ... on meee ..." Yakko said as he tried to look for a bottle of water before he and Buster fell to the ground once they succumbed to the effects of the powder in the coffee.
Right after Buster and Yakko fell asleep, Mordecai and Jude then fell fast asleep as Gin Rummy arrived to carry Buster, Yakko, Mordecai and Jude out of the campfire pit as Babs melodramatically cried out, "No! Buster, don't leave me!"
However, Nefera could only roll her eyes at Buster and Yakko's elimination from the challenge as she said, "Well, there goes the rascally rabbit and the screwball ..."
(Confessional Cam: How to Create an Unstoppable Alliance 101 with Nefera de Nile)
Nefera: "Alright, so Trina and I both agreed that we needed to get our unstoppable alliance on the road, so we could make sure everything is all set up once we make it to the Final 5. We have already agreed to recruit Stella and my sister, Cleo, but I am still trying to figure out how we could recruit Mandy for this thing ... maybe it'll come to me in a moment ..."
While the other contestants were looking for other methods to stay awake for the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon, Trina walked up to Nefera and said, "Yo, Nefera, are you, like, ready to get this alliance thingy started up right now?"
"Oh, you know it, my pink-haired dearie," Nefera said as a devious smirk appeared on her face. "Have you seen Stella or Cleo anywhere?"
Trina then proceeded to point to where Stella and Cleo were, saying, "Oh, they're right over there. Stella's busy making a fool out of herself by standing on their heads to incite a blood rush, so they could stay awake for most of the challenge."
"Perfect," Nefera said as she and Trina walked up to the the two girls and Mandy, then she said, "Hey, Cleo, Mandy, Stella, can we see you three for a sec?"
Cleo, Mandy and Stella then walked over to Trina and Nefera, and all five girls gathered in a private area to discuss the plans for a new alliance. Nefera then whispered to her planned alliance members, "Alright, so Trina and I have come up with a plan to get ourselves and three other contestants into the Final 5 and we decided to choose you three."
However, this only raised a level of skepticism among the three girls as Cleo said while raising an eyebrow, "Wait a minute, Nefera, hold the phone! Why would you want me to be a part of your alliance? You barely even care about me and my feelings to begin with!"
"Oh, I understand, Cleo, I understand, but come on!" Nefera said with a fake, enthusiastic smile as she hugged up on Cleo. "This could serve as a nice bonding experience for the both of us. Besides, don't you want to hang out with your older sister?"
Cleo just rolled her eyes at her sister's theatrics as she said, "Right, as if I would want to spend time with a self-absorbed prima donna like you ..."
As Nefera was left looking flustered by her sister's reluctance to join her alliance, Trina decided to step up and take matters into her own hands by saying, "Well, I can tell you three were going to show some reluctance to join our alliance, so I guess our fellow Road Runners will enjoy knowing the truth that you three were the ones who voted Billy off of the island in the last episode!"
Cleo and Stella both gasped in fear as Stella said, "What?! What are you talking about, Trina? We weren't the ones who voted Billy off of the island!"
"Oh, really? Well, these voting results beg to disagree," Trina said as she pulled out the voting results sheet and showed that Cleo and Stella were among the few contestants who voted for Billy last week. "So ... are you three going to change your minds and join our alliance or do you want to risk losing the trust of your fellow contestants?"
Cleo and Stella both exchanged concerned glances with each other until Stella finally gave up and said, "Fine, alright! We'll join your stupid alliance, but promise that you won't tell anybody about any of this, alright?!"
"You have a deal, girlfriend," Trina said with a devious smile as Cleo and Stella walked off.
However, Mandy still stood in front of Nefera and Trina, shaking her head in disdain as she said, "Alright, you two, I've got to be honest with you: that was literally the worst use of blackmail ever. Why do you even want us to join your alliance in the first place? You two barely even care about anyone else on this show but yourselves!"
"Oh, come on, my dear Mandy," Nefera said as she walked towards Mandy and wrapped her arm around her. "Be honest with me: don't you want to win that sweet $10 million prize and live fabulously among the rich and famous elite of Hollywood, California? Besides, think about it: if you win the $10 million prize, you could get the opportunity to leave Endsville, never have to deal with Billy again and you could win that bet you set up with Grim at the start of the show!"
Mandy thought about it for a moment, then she sighed and said, "Well, as much as I'm actually closer with Billy than you two realize and I know Grim might end up finding a way to win the bet he set up with Billy and I, I would honestly have to say ... you two have got yourselves a new alliance member."
Nefera and Trina both felt rather surprised by this sudden turn of events as Nefera shook hands with Mandy and said, "Well, at least I know who the smart ones are on this island."
Mandy then smiled deviously as Trina said, "Welcome to the Unstoppable Final Five Alliance, Mandy! I promise you will never regret joining our alliance in the long run."
"Oh, I'm sure I won't," Mandy said sarcastically while rolling her eyes.
As Mandy left, Trina then turned to Nefera and asked, "Nefera, what did Mandy mean by that?"
"Oh, don't worry about it, Trina," Nefera said in a reassuring tone. "Besides, at least we got all three members of our alliance this time around! It's about time the writer of this series actually realized what Mandy's character was truly all about and decided to do her justice!"

Mandy: "Alright, let me be honest right here: as much as I don't like either Trina or Nefera, I feel as though this alliance might be beneficial for my run on Total Warners Island. I might ride this alliance thing out for a while, then I'll break away and do my own thing. If things don't work out like I had intended, I will be secretly planning for Nefera and Trina's eventual downfall."
(24 hours later: Zooming Road Runners: 17 / Looney Screwballs: 19)
Once they had finally made it to the 24-hour mark of the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon, most of the contestants had already fallen asleep before then, causing themselves to be eliminated from the challenge, which lead to both teams being down to at least less than 20 members. The Zooming Road Runners currently consisted of 17 conscious and awake contestants, whereas the Looney Screwballs still had 19 conscious contestants. Out of all of the contestants who were still awake, Zim looked as though he was the one who was the least affected by the sleep deprivation and Dib was surprisingly wide awake as he hoped to stay up longer than Zim—or at least humiliate him directly or indirectly.
Bugs then walked up to the current crop of contestants as he said with a genuine smile, "Congratulations, ladies and gentlemen, you all have made it past the 24-hour mark of the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon!"
The contestants tiredly gave out weak, yet enthusiastic cheers as Gin Rummy walked up with a pile of books and said, "You know what, Bugs? I think I had underestimated the contestants; they all look pretty tough, so ... I think it's time to kick this challenge up a notch!"
Bugs took notice of the books that Gin Rummy was carrying, then he grabbed one of the books, looked at the title, turned back to Gin Rummy and said, "Eh, Rummy ... I seriously question how fairy tales are going to kick this challenge up a notch!"
However, once Gin Rummy started to read a page from one of the boring fairy tale books, it started to have the intended effect on the various contestants as some of the contestants' eyes started to grow heavy, leading to Bugs to turn to the audience and say in a sotto aside, "Well, what do you know? I rest my case."
After Gin Rummy started reading the fairy tales, The Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy started to play in the background as Gin Rummy proceeded to dance around the contestants in a pink tutu. While the contestants were trying their hardest to hold in their laughter as they saw Rummy dancing, Gin Rummy proceeded to throw some magical pixie dust into the direction of the contestants' faces, causing them to get sleepy—with Courage becoming the first victim of Gin Rummy's trickery by actually biting the dust ... well, in a metaphorical sense, at least.
(40 hours later: Zooming Road Runners: 9 / Looney Screwballs: 7)
By the time the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon had reached the 40-hour mark, both teams had taken some major hits in the lead-up to the 40th hour as both teams were now down to less than 10 contestants. The Zooming Road Runners were knocked down to only 9 conscious members, but the Looney Screwballs were affected even harder as they only had 7 conscious members, which led to Bugs saying, "Well, what do you know, folks? I guess I have seen it all! It looks like the Screwballs are going to lose their first challenge of the season!"
However, while Nefera tried to talk about the strategy with her alliance, Stella fell backwards from her stump and ended up falling asleep like a baby. Cleo, Mandy and Trina all followed suit as they all succumbed to the effects of sleep deprivation from the past 40 hours, which lead to Nefera saying to herself, "Great ... leave it to the one and only Gin Rummy to resort to a wide variety of desperate measures to get everyone to fall asleep faster."
Back with Babs, she was trying her hardest to stay awake by any means necessary as she took a look at the remaining contestants around her, then she took notice of Ed sleepwalking through the campgrounds as she said to herself while smirking, "Heh ... I guess I now know what Eddy meant when he said that Ed had a sleepwalking problem."
Following this observation of Ed's character, Babs continued to take a look at the remaining contestants who were still awake ... that is, until she noticed that Johnny Bravo hasn't even taken a seat since they had reached the 40-hour mark of the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon, so she decided to learn how Johnny managed to stay awake this whole time.
"Look at this guy!" Babs said to the remaining contestants of the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon. "He hasn't even moved an inch since who-knows-when! Hey, Johnny, what's your secret?"
However, once Babs touched Johnny's face, Johnny actually woke up fro real as he performed a quick karate move and said to Babs, "Whoa! Hey, little mama, don't touch the face."
The other contestants all gasped in shock as Jenny jumped up and said, "Hey, what the—Johnny Bravo was cheating through this Awake-a-Thon the whole time! He painted fake eyes over his actual eyelids, I saw it with my own eyes!"
"Get outta here, doc," Bugs said while cocking up an eyebrow in interest. "Oh, I definitely gotta check this out!"
Bugs then walked up to Johnny and examined his eyelids to see that where Johnny had painted the fake eyes, then Johnny could only smile sheepishly as Bugs said, "Well ... Johnny, that's honestly pretty clever! However, this cannot be accepted, so it's safe to say, Johnny B., that you're outta here!"
(85 hours later: Zooming Road Runners: 3 / Looney Screwballs: 4)
While over half of the contestants had fallen asleep by the time they had reached the 85-hour mark of the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon, a select few of the contestants had managed to surprisingly stay awake for 85 hours. Zim, Babs and Nefera were still awake on the Zooming Road Runners side, whereas Huey, Daggett, Jenny and Dib were still awake on the Looney Screwballs side. While Dib slowly but surely started to feel the effects of sleep deprivation, he suddenly heard some light snoring and looked around for the source of said snoring. Suddenly, he turned to see Zim curled up in a ball, sleeping like an angel, so to speak. In one quick motion, Dib jumped up and took one Zim's plastic eyes, revealing that the Irken invader was actually sleeping through the entire challenge. Suddenly, everyone else finally realized that Zim also cheated for the challenge as Dib took off the alien's hair, causing the Irken invader to wake up out of his slumber.
"Huh? What? What are you all looking at?" Zim asked the contestants, unaware that his true form was revealed to the others.
"Well, Zim, it looks like you're eliminated from this challenge as well!" Bugs said as he gave the "You're Out!" signal to Zim. "Honestly, if Dib had done this to you earlier, you would've been gone two marks ago."
"NOOOO!" Zim said as Gin Rummy proceeded to pull him away from the campfire pit while the Irken started to go on a bizarre rant about his ulterior motives. "YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! AFTER ALL, I AM THE ALMIGHTY INVADER ZIM! I WILL COME BACK FOR REVENGE AND ENSLAVE YOUR ENTIRE PLANET FOR THIS TRAVESTY, YOU FOOLISH LONG-EARED GOOF! NEFERA AND TRINA STUFFED THE BALLET BOXES LAST WEEK TO GET BILLY VOTED OFF OF THE ISLAND AND TRIED TO USE A POOR EXCUSE OF BLACKMAIL TO GET CLEO, MANDY AND STELLA TO JOIN THEIR STUPID ALLIANCE THEY HAD BEEN TRYING TO SET UP SINCE THE FIRST EPISODE OF THE SEASON!"
(Confessional Cam: What happened to the Willing Suspension of Disbelief?)
Grim: "Thank you, Zim, for sucking out all of the possible drama that will come from Nefera and Trina setting up their alliance ..."
Dib could only laugh at Zim's erratic reaction to his elimination from the challenge as he said, "Yeah, and it looks like the so-called 'Almighty Zim' is going to be voted off of the island tonight. Now, I gotta go ahead and take a shower before the grand finale ..."
The other contestants just exchanged looks of confusion about what Zim was ranting about as Daggett said, "Ehhh ... just what did Zim mean when he said Nefera and Trina stuffed the ballot boxes to get Billy voted off of the island in the previous episode?"
"Oh, and what is this about a new alliance, and you and Trina blackmailing Cleo, Mandy and Stella to join your alliance?" Jenny asked curiously.
Nefera just brushed it off as she said in a reassuring tone, "Whatever, it was probably just one of Zim's delusional, egotistical ramblings."
(Confessional Cam: The universe tends to give the Chew Toys a nice freebie ...)
Dib: "It feels good to taste the sweet flavor of victory for once. I mean, I hate to say that Zim had it coming this whole time, but ... ah, who am I kidding? Zim definitely had it coming this whole time!"
"Come on, will you guys just fall asleep already, so we can hurry up and get to the elimination ceremonies later on tonight?!" Gin Rummy shouted at the remaining contestants, then he turned to the losing contestants and said, "Alright, if you were eliminated from this challenge earlier, why don't you go ahead and take a shower already? You guys smell like you just stepped out of a friggin' barnyard! The rest of you, get up here for the grand finale of the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon."
As the remaining contestants trudged up to the front, Gin Rummy took a sip from a cup of coffee and said to the contestants, "You know, to be honest here, I didn't want it to come down to this—"
"Actually, Rummy, yeah, you did!" Bugs shouted from a distance.
Gin Rummy could only glare at Bugs as he turned back to the contestants and say, "... As I was saying, I didn't want it to come down to this. I even told Bugs this last night, I said, 'Bugs, I didn't want it to come down to this, but these cartoon characters are all tough, goddamn it!' ... So, I decided to find the most-boring thing in the world that should speed things up and help us find the real winner of this challenge."
(Confessional Cam: As Flo Rida & Sage the Gemini would say, "It's going down for real!")
Babs: "Oh, come on now! What is it now?! Alright, you wanna know what ... Bring. It. On!"
Suddenly, Gin Rummy pulled out a rather large book that was centered on the expanded history of Warner Bros. Animation and its evolution as a top-tier animation studio through the decades. However, right after he finished reading one chapter, Nefera and Jenny both succumbed to their boredom, leaving Babs as the final member of the Zooming Road Runners to go up against Huey and Daggett of the Looney Screwballs.
"I don't get it," Babs said to Huey and Daggett in a tone of amazement. "You both managed to stay awake for most of this challenge and you didn't even close your eyes for not even one moment! How did you two manage to make it through this whole thing unscathed?"
"Well, it just takes a lot of endurance, my dear Babs," Daggett explained with a smile. "Norb and I went through this kind of thing before we came on this show, so this is just a major cakewalk for me, baby-ee!"
"I have to side with Daggett here," Huey said with a slight nod of his head. "Honestly, I haven't really dealt with something like this before, but when I was helping my family and our friends prepare for that 'Fried Chicken Flu' crisis that was going to hit Woodcrest, I didn't get a lot of sleep because I was busy working with the generator I had hooked up at the house and coming up with a good set of survival plans for said crisis. To be honest, I didn't think Riley managed to sleep a lot when word of the crisis hit our neighborhood, but I have a feeling he was so busy having a blast hanging out with Thugnificent and Leonard when they were staying with us."
Suddenly, Babs started to fall asleep after hearing both of their stories as Daggett turned to Huey and said in an amazed tone, "Well, what do you know, Huey? I guess we caused the pink rabbit to fall asleep by using her own plan against her!"
Huey could only raise an eyebrow in response as he said, "Wait a minute, Daggett ... how did you know she was attempting to make us fall asleep first?"
"To be honest with you, Huey, I honestly don't know ... Beavers' Intuition?" Daggett said with a genuine smile.
Bugs then walked up to Huey and Daggett, and proceeded to hold up their arms in victory as he declared, "The Ultimate Awake-a-Thon is finally over! The winners of this challenge is the Looney Screwballs!"
Darius then walked up to the group with the Animated All-Star Award as he said, "Alright, this week's Animated All-Star Award goes to ...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
... Daggett Beaver! Even though he may lack Huey's samurai-like endurance or even his craftiness, he managed to use his knowledge and awareness of previous late-night escapades to ultimately win this challenge for his team!"
"Whoo-hoo! The Dagmeister has won the Animated All-Star Award!" Daggett said excitedly as he held up his Animated All-Star Award. "I dedicate this one to Huey and the rest of my teammates on the Looney Screwballs squad!"
Suddenly, Huey and the other members of the Screwballs, who had returned to check out the finale of the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon, rushed up to the dark brown beaver and carried them in their arms as they cheered for their well-deserved victory.
However, the Zooming Road Runners could only look down in shame as Bugs turned to the team in question and said, "Zooming Road Runners, all I can really say at this point is ... déjà vu, I guess. I shall see you guys again tonight for the elimination ceremony."
(Confessional Cam: Déjà Vu Season for the Zooming Road Runners)
Nefera: "I can clearly see that Zim would become a casualty for our team in the long run, He needs to get out of here ... and fast."
Yakko: "I wonder what Zim meant when he said Nefera and Trina had stuffed the ballot boxes, directly causing Billy to get voted off of the show last week."
Norbert: "While I am disappointed that we have to vote off another one of our teammates, I can say that I am proud of Daggett winning the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon with Huey."
Riley: "Y'know, I gotta be real for a minute here: for all of the arguing that goes on between me and my brother, Huey, I will say one thing in favor of him ... he never gives up or backs down in a time of crisis."
Eventually, once nightfall hit Camp Wawanakwa, the Zooming Road Runners were sitting in the campfire pit once again as Bugs walked out with a tray of 28 marshmallows and said to the Road Runners, "Alright, Zooming Road Runners, I think you guys know the drill by now. You guys have lost today's challenge against the Looney Screwballs, so you have to vote off one of your teammates who has to walk the Dock of Shame and board the Boat of Maroons. I hope you all made the right decision tonight because once they leave this island, they can't ever come back ... EVER! Alright, the first marshmallow of the night goes to ... Babs Bunny."
Babs jumped up and proceeded to catch her marshmallow as Bugs then said, "Ed."
"Hey, guys, I'm back!" Ed said as he casually walked up to his teammates and caught his marshmallow. "Did I miss anything?"
"Where'd you come from?" Eddy asked Ed curiously.
"Blame my parents, Eddy," Ed said without skipping a beat.
"Okay, so ... the next set of marshmallows go to Ami, Yumi, Buster, Norbert and Nefera," Bugs said as he passed the five marshmallows to the aforementioned contestants.
"Draculaura, Trina, Riley, Cindy, Usagi and Rei," Bugs said as he passed marshmallows out to the following contestants.
"Numbah 5, Wile E., Cleo, Wakko, Eddy and Layla," Bugs said as the next set of contestants caught their marshmallows.
"Haruka, Michiru, Tecna and Roxy," Bugs said as the last four contestants caught their marshmallows, leaving only Johnny Bravo and Zim.
Although Johnny and Zim were both on the chopping block for elimination, neither contestant felt rather concerned about this tense moment of the night, surprisingly enough, as Johnny just looked cool and collected about the situation and Zim was busy laughing evilly to himself.
"Alright, Zim and Johnny, you both have racked up a good amount of votes, but only one of you will be staying on the show while the other will go home in shame," Bugs said to the two remaining contestants. "Therefore, I can safely say that the last marshmallow of the night goes to ...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
... Johnny Bravo."
Johnny then flexed in amazement as he caught his marshmallow and said with confidence, "Hr! Hah! Huh! Things are lookin' good for the Bravoman!"
However, Zim just felt shocked about the elimination as he said, "What?! You guys thought the blonde-haired muscle-bound doofus was a better option instead of the almighty Invader Zim?!"
"NOOOOO! I WILL GET MY REVENGE ON ALL OF YOU FOR THIS TRAVESTY! WATCH YOUR BACKS, ZOOMING ROAD RUNNERS!" Zim shouted as Gin Rummy dragged him through the Dock of Shame.
"Man, I am seriously getting tired of having to carry you around whenever you start having a temper tantrum," Gin Rummy said in an annoyed tone as he threw Zim into the Boat of Maroons.
"Sheesh, that Zim's got quite the temper, doesn't he?" Eddy said while smirking, causing the other teammates to stare at him strangely. "What?"
"Throwing stones, Eddy," Norbert said as he patted Eddy on his back. "Throwing stones."
The other contestants just left the campfire pit as Eddy caught up with them while saying in protest, "What? I don't fly off the handle as frequently as Zim does! Come on, you guys gotta believe me!"
(Confessional Cam: Insert obligatory Pinky and the Brain references here)
The Brain: "It looks as though once this season is over, Bugs and the producers behind this reality show are going to send Zim to some sort of intelligence-based facility. I think I might have to pull some serious strings in order to get that intergalactic Irken invader to help me come up with some new plans to take over the world!"
Virgil: "It was pretty cool of Bugs and Darius to give us that cool reward of a decked-out cabin party that comes with tons of food, a nice set of refreshments, a superstar DJ and a surprise celebrity guest. Now, we can finally have that cabin-warming party we have always wanted!"
While the Looney Screwballs were having their cabin-warming party, the Zooming Road Runners were about to walk into their cabin, hoping to recharge their batteries after the brutal Awake-a-Thon challenge until Virgil walked out of his team's cabin and called out, "Hey, Road Runners! Do you guys wanna join us for this cabin-warming party? There's plenty of orange soda and Pizza Hut pizza to go around!"
The Road Runners all smiled with glee as Eddy jumped up in front of his fellow members of the Zooming Road Runners and said in a proud and overconfident tone, "Pardon me, my fellow Road Runners, but why don't you all move aside and let the king of the parties make his grand entrance?"
Usagi and Rei took notice of Eddy's braggadocio and overconfidence as he and the other Road Runners made their way into the Screwballs' cabin, then Usagi giggled as she said, "Wow, I guess Eddy really knows how to liven things up even when one is at their lowest moments, huh, Rei?"
Rei smiled warmly as she said, "Yeah, I guess you could say that."
Suddenly, Ami M. called for Usagi and Rei out of the Screwballs' cabin window, saying, "Hey, Usagi, Rei! Don't you girls want to come in for the party?"
Makoto then walked up to the window and said, "Yeah! Besides, we've got so much catching up to do!"
Minako also walked up to the window and smirked playfully as she said, "Plus ... I think Makoto might have a crush on Double D ..."
Makoto ended up blushing in response as Usagi and Rei giggled about this. Before Makoto could respond to Minako's claim, Rei just smiled and said as she and Usagi walked into the Screwballs' cabin, "Oh, cool it, Makoto! You know Minako's just playing around!"
"Besides, this should be one interesting story among all of the other stuff we could talk about!" Usagi said as she closed the door to the Screwballs' cabin once she and Rei made their way inside.
(Confessional Cam: All's well that ends well)
Flora: "Well, I thought it was very nice of Virgil to step up and invite the Zooming Road Runners to our cabin-warming party, just as nice as seeing Buster and Babs bond during the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon. Virgil willingly invited the entire Zooming Road Runners team to join our party, even Nefera and Trina! He's really a nice guy once you get to know him ..."
While the contestants were enjoying the cabin-warming party, Bugs was watching from afar while munching on a carrot, then he turned to the audience and said, "Well, don't ya love a happy ending, folks? Even though the Zooming Road Runners lost the Ultimate Awake-a-Thon, they did get a sweet reward in getting a special invite to the Screwballs' cabin-warming party. Will the Zooming Road Runners be able to get their first win next week or will the Looney Screwballs continue to reign supreme? Find out the answers to these questions and more on the next dramatic installment of Total ... Warners ... Island!"
"That's all, folks!"
Chapter 3 Completed
Eliminated: Billy, Zim
Animated All-Star Award Winners: Virgil, Daggett
I hope you all enjoyed the third chapter in the series. I hope you all noticed the cameo by the Brain near the end of this chapter and the references to actual events from the characters' shows (The various Animaniacs references, including one to The Big Wrap Party Tonight; Huey's comment about preparing for the crisis; Daggett referencing his and Norbert's all-nighter; Ed's sleepwalking problem; Ed performing CPR on Jimmy and Eddy in their show). I apologize to those who thought Zim was going to last longer than Dib, but I wanted to engage on a change of pace for the characters this time around. However, I will utilize Zim as a surprise guest in a later chapter. What will occur in his surprise guest appearance? You'll have to wait and see. Anyway, "Stay Tooned" for more new chapters, folks!
