Well, let's say that I'll update twice today because I have to study to one exam and i was suppose to study yesterday. Anyway...

As I promised, a Pelsa chapter, the next is ready as well, feel free to read both.

The Reunion

How many years passed this time?

Four?

Six?

Pitch only knew that the last time he'd seen the princess, wasn't exactly the best time they have shared as 'friends'. It was pointless to think about that but he couldn't help it, something went wrong between them at some point after Elsa turned thirteen. The princess decided to keep herself away from everybody, included Pitch; she just held her hands close to her chest and told everyone to stay away from her, never saying the reasons for fear to reveal her curse and the damage she did to her beloved little sister. The same thing happed with Pitch, she even agreed to use her magic one more time if he was taking care of her reactions, but it didn't go well in the end.

Elsa felt something, some kind of fear mixed with embarrassment and distress. Pitch had such great control of that dark and mysterious sand he was above of that subject compared to her, she thought that made her snap in the moment Pitch touched her, but the doubt remained. The Nightmare King had a hard time too, it wasn't the first time he asked for her hands to teach her how to control her magic, but it was the first time Elsa ordered him to go away, her voiced raised not in anger but in rejection, wanting to shout him out as soon as possible.

He didn't say anything, Elsa just stood there realizing what she had done to her only friend. Pitch almost dared to say she was about to cry but before anything he just left her in there. Feeling…guilty for some reason, or maybe not, just as the cause for her to act in that way, and that really set him off. It still bothers him.

Since then, he hasn't appeared in the castle, not by any chance. He started to learn about the golden sand of the little man to pass the time and gain some knowledge about those dreams and how to turn them into nightmares permanently. He couldn't say how much time passed. It didn't matter so much to him anyway.

Until one night he returned, not expecting anything from the princess and wondering why was a lot of people in Ballroom of the castle. He found a spot away from the people in a column as a shadow, knowing they would never notice anyway if the shadow weren't distorted. From his position he turned to one window, he saw the gates of the castle completely open, weird thing because he remembered Elsa told him she was the reason why the gates were close all the time. He sort of felt uneasiness about the time he left, thinking what other things could have changed…including the princess in the process.

"Queen Elsa of Arendelle." He heard behind him as the trumpets announced the girl Pitch used to visit. Now she wasn't a little girl anymore. "Princess Anna of Arendelle." The old man said to announce the little sister.

"She changed too...wait, where's the white strand?" he asked quietly while searching in the hair of the strawberry-blonde girl. There was no strand. "What the-"

Suddenly, the guests began o talk to each other, the princess ran to the arms of very stocky man, blond hair and brown eyes, wearing a green outfit with long sleeves, not so elegant like the rest of the men in the ballroom but decent for the occasion. He glanced at Elsa and then at her sister, both of them were taller than the last time he saw them, the new Queen seem…happy, he almost gasped when he focus on her hands, bare and clasped in her lap showing how proud she was of herself. Then, he took more attention in the rest of her appearance when saw her shoe heels shining like crystals.

"Is that…ice?" he asked to the air examining her dress with slit. "It is made of pure ice." He assure to his suspicious, noticing some sparkles in the bodice, the frost on her cape and the brightness in her crown and the jewel on it.

Anna rushed with the man in hand to her sister, smiling brightly and humming happily than ever, once in the top of the guests beside Elsa, she call the people to look at their directions. "Thank you everybody for attending the engagement party of my little sister, princess Anna." Said the pale girl with a sweet and gentle smile, taking her sister's arm and feeling how the girl was excited and happier than ever, the rest of the crowd applause to the two royals, Pitch seemed startled for the announce.

"And also, thank you to the dignitaries for helping our kingdom after cutting relations with Weaselton, now we know that Arendelle will remained as the leader in the north just like our family would have wanted." Said Anna receiving another round of claps. The Nightmare King seemed clueless.

"But we can't forget the women who did the best for her kingdom after the circumstances." Commented a man in the edge front of the guests, a dignitary. "If it wasn't for Queen Elsa and the day of The Great Thaw, Arendelle would have been in the worst hands ever."

"You mean Hans." Said playfully Elsa filling the whole room with laughs. Pitch frown in disbelief at the sight of Elsa laughing with everyone.

"To the Queen Elsa and princess Anna." Said the same man raising a glass with wine; the rest of the guests did the same. Kristoff did it as well looking at his princess playfully. Once they finished, the happiness remained.

"Thank you. But please, enough of this. Enjoy the party while it last." Said again Elsa with her cheeks burning in red embarrassment.

'Elsa is the Queen? Anna is engaged? The Great Thaw? Hans? Cutting relations? Weasel town? Just how many years did I left?' Pitch was in a bad spot, he suddenly fell in panic by the time he ignored Elsa and all of Arendelle, the last time it was just three years and all changed around princess Elsa because of her, now by seeing that the gates were open, Elsa was the Queen, Anna about to get married and all these people admiring the figure of the platinum blonde ruler on top of everyone, he could tell that maybe this time he left eight years. To be the queen Elsa must be twenty-one, Pitch needed to talk to her, to see if was able to control her emotions perfectly by now, because of the time he passed not seeing her he felt something like guilt inside of him, and also care about the new Queen.

He wanted her to be alone, to talk and so no one would think she was talking to the nothing. He moved away from the column and kept himself out of the way of the guests, he still can't tolerate when someone walks through him; he placed himself in the middle of the ballroom, everyone chatting with each other and some other with Anna to talk about how would be the big day. Moved a little further, stabbing his gaze into the Queen's icy blue eyes hoping she would return the stared. The king noticed when Elsa saw him; her eyes widened a little, her shoulders fell in tension and her lips pressed to form a hardened line.

After that moment, Elsa left the ballroom with discretion to a hallway, where she began to loose her composure and her breathe got caught in her throat. Since the day Elsa shout him out, something inside of her broke and the bits stabbed her heart everyday after that. Her nights were so lonely and empty without her friend to talk or pass the time mocking at whatever was at the sight her window, the room seemed bigger before going to sleep, her sleep felt to come in the dawn most of the nights, and then she learned what meant to feel completely alone. The only friend she has been also the only one who understood her situation, because as her, who would even think of having the Boogeyman as a friend? 'I will.' She said once…a very long time ago. For the past years she tried to convince herself that what she said to Pitch was necessary for him to not get hurt with her powers, that was the last thing she wanted for him, fear her. She told herself to forget, forget everything about Pitch black and what he meant to her, a teacher and the best friend she ever had, though it was also the only one. When her parents pass away she knew that just Ana was out there for her, even when the knocking at her door stopped, she always knew Anna would love her no matter what.

Unconsciously, she made some kind of ritual before get to bed, she used to sit in front of her mirror and watch the corner where Pitch disappeared last time, remembering his face, his voice, the way he smoothly walked, the beautiful and hypnotizing color his eyes captured in the dark places to almost gleam, but above everything, how he used to keep his petition for her to quit the gloves; then she used to walked at the window to see the nothing of the sight of her kingdom, then she apologize quietly expecting him answer, to come back, the whisper would began to increased it's sound until throat closed and tears rolled down her pale cheeks. She missed him, she wanted to see him so badly, and he was taking over her. When the day of her coronation came things got a little bit better, she convinced herself that keeping him away was for the best, but a tiny part of her heart still broken was saying she wanted him back. Asking her sister about love was a huge mistake; one that ended up tearing apart her will to not ask him to came back. 'More than you. Only you know is how to shout people out.' That was like a stab in her heart, the awful truth being told by the person she loves was right, even Anna didn't knew about Pitch, Elsa knew she was right.

After freezing her kingdom and froze Anna's heart, Elsa choose her family in the moment she thought her sister was gone, and after seeing Anna being thaw by the love she felt for her, Elsa decided to stay with her sister, the one that was there for her and saved her from becoming the monster they think she was. Seasons came and went and so the year. Kristoff propose to Anna in the next year after what her people call The Great Thaw, now they where about to get marry and the engagement party seemed so warm and pretty it was like a second San Valentine Day…until he came back. Now Elsa was holding back the tears, tears of sadness, joy, anger, a mixed up feeling that was making her stomach burn and her powers making some frost in the ceiling.

"It's ok, calm down, just calm down and breath." She told to herself, removing the mantra her father taught her and that brings nothing but troubles.

"What happened to the 'conceal, don't feel' thing?" she heard beside her, his voice like silk just like she remembered it. There he was, tall, lithe, black robe and curious silver-goldeneyes gleaming against the dark of the hallway, hands clasped behind his back and a smooth way to walk like the silence in the night. Elsa blinked a little, remembering where she was and why was she out of Anna's party.

"That…didn't work…in the end." She articulated nervous and holding back the tears of the mixed emotions burning in her stomach. Pitch stood in front of her; Elsa knew he was examining her, from the top of her head to the tip of her toe. "You seem surprised." She said to stop the way he looked at her.

"I admit that a little…yes." He took a couple of steps back, this time looking at the crown. "You're a Queen." He confirm for no reason. Elsa just nodded.

"Yes. You…kind of missed some things here." The girl took her braid and caressed the snowflakes in it, playing with them while Pitch looked at her, remembering when the princess used to accommodate her hair like that. The atmosphere was tensed by the last time they see each other, they could barely talk properly after that incident.

"Yes, well. I was...busy."

'I wonder with what' she thought with disdain, hoping he would tell her the reason.

"So. Did you manage keep that black sand? Elsa turned her eyes to his, knowing if he would dare to lie to her after everything, though she wasn't the one to speak since she shout him out in the first place.

"Almost, I can't keep it with completely." He said showing one of his hands which began to twist and the sand appeared swirled by itself after the impulse Pitch did, then, it just die in his hands and dripped away. The Queen smiled a little at the trick, the same trick Pitch did when she told him about her powers. "I'm still learning. One day it'll work properly." Pitch also remembered some things, included the way Elsa used to smile a lot in his presence despite what he was.

"Hey, did you just arrive?" Elsa asked still feeling the mixed in within, Pitch nodded with a very tiny smile. "Well…I was just wondering if…after the party…would you like to walk with me in the edge of the fjord?"

Although Elsa was giving her best to smile lightly in his presence, it was hard not to be nervous to such a request. Pitch too, he felt nervous in front of her out of the blue, not knowing what to say, he just cleared his throat as Elsa seemed to be disappointed.

"What? Are you going already?" Elsa felt panic, fear. She didn't want to loose him again.

"No, no. I just don't…feel in mood to stay any longer." With that he just turned away and entered in the hallway, not disappearing yet.

The young Queen felt the tears in the edge of her eyes, her shoulder betray her shaking lightly and her hands making fist as the temperature dropped a few degrees. The panic, the anger and the sadness built up inside her and the memory of Pitch leaving her came back again; the bitter years and the empty feeling of not having him in her life were near her as Pitch reached the middle of the way.

Pitch felt a blow in his back but the object didn't separate from him. Suddenly he felt the cold and the shaking of the girl he used to call 'princess'. That girl had her arms across his torso and her fists were shaking like crazy, he felt cold in his back too, a cold breath and warm tears that made him go blank. He was frozen in his place with his arm in the air like he thought he could hurt Elsa if he touches her. He was clueless again, clueless about what he had to do, and giving comfort to others wasn't something he was accustomed to. Slowly, agonizingly, he took Elsa's hands in his, letting the cold involve his fingertips and palms. He turned slowly to face her, and then his chest felt her hair brushing a tiny zone of his flesh, his robe was splashed by little snow particles that were in her hair.

Elsa's whimpers were something unknown for Pitch, he always saw her with a sad face in their last encounter, but she never dared to cry in front of him. "Please…"he barely understood between gasps and whimpers. "Don't leave me again." He was straddled, thinking how lonely she must have been, but not getting any closer to the reality of the facts, even so he hugged her in return, accepting for very first time in his life that he'd missed her. She squeezed more her grip as a response. Minutes that felt like hours passed in nothing, the young queen released him and whipped away the tears to start rub her face and gaining some courage to face him after her lapsus; Elsa sighed in relief and getting back to where she was and she wanted to do in the first place after seeing her dear friend.

Elsa gave him a few punches in the chest with her fists and muttering, Pitch stood still receiving the punches like of they were air in a fresh fall night, barely swinging his torso and a sad face across his face at her vane intents.

"I thought you were different, I thought you'll never leave alone and that you'll always be there whenever I need you." Every time Elsa speak, a new punch hit Pitch in the chest, so soft and weak he almost wanted to laugh but the young queen was crying while talking, he was reading too much into it.

"I'm sorry." He said softly, but Elsa kept steady her 'punches'. " You were the one who told to stay away from you." He pointed, making Elsa's chest squeeze her heart sinking the last broken peace of ice more and more in her heart, so deep she gasped and the air seemed to be missing.

"I know! I know and I'm sorry! You don't know how bad di I feel after that night…" Elsa's tears weren't freezing in her cheeks, she was mad at him of course but also happy to see him again. "You were in your right to not see me again but…but I thought you were different than my parents." Pitch raised an eyebrow in curiosity not believing what Elsa thought back then, since when Elsa compares the Nightmare King with the King and Queen of Arendelle?

"Where did you get that idea?" Pitch stopped her from punching him more, grabbing her by the wrists and feeling the 'force' she was making as a struggle, such punches so weak but in the same place for certain time started to bother and distracting him. "Elsa why did you think that?"

"Because you never looked at me as my parents did." Now she was angry, blaming him for leaving her. For Elsa this was venting her mixed emotions with him to prevent her kingdom from another Eternal Winter. "You came to see me everyday even after the depressing way I was acting with myself. Even although you never told me to 'cheer up' you made me feel comfortable whenever you were beside me."

'I had to. If you'd lost the fear in yourself you would have stopped believing in me…I care too much for it.' Pitch thought realizing what he meant in those times, not saying cheer up-phrase or words for comfort like the others but neither torturing her, she was living her own hell just as he did, and Pitch felt some, well, guilt whenever he realized about that fact.

"I only can say I'm sorry since that happened eight years ago." He said letting her and hoping she was calmed already.

"Nine years…"she whispered, looking at her shoes and disappointed at the fact Pitch didn't pay such attention at the time like her. "It's been nine years since you left. You have any idea how abandoned I felt after you left? After the death of my parents? After all this years?"

'No, but I figure…' thought again knowing how does it feel to be completely alone, he couldn't imagine Elsa accompanied for the same kind of solitude, it was just a very depressing thought he prefer to ignore. He felt one last punch, the weakest of all followed by the forehead of the young Queen resting in his chest, usually this girl was cold but she was strangely warm. It felt nice against him.

"I thought you'll never come back…I thought I'll never see you again. I tried so hard for years to think that if you were away then it was for own safety, in that way you'll never get hurt by me like happened with my sister, and I thought that was ok because at least you were ok and-"

Her blabber stopped suddenly when she felt something unknown resting in her back and shoulders. A pair of thin and steady arms were hugging her with the care of not squeeze her with too much force, in her hair she felt the cheeks bones resting and the fingers brushing her braid slowly. Elsa now was frozen in her position, barely blinking and not believing what was Pitch doing to her. He was comforting her. She knew the King of the Nightmares wasn't a person who liked to give comfort of any kind but this was something else entirely, he was giving her comfort by a very ancient way and a very good way.

"As I said. I'm sorry." He whispered in her hair, looking at the splashes of frost in her up-do bangs, still brushing her braid. "I didn't…It's just that when you told me that I only did what you told me and then…I don't know, it seemed to me the best if I never come back." He confessed, not knowing why he thought of it in the first place, because it was true, and when he says the truth he mock of it but not this time, not with her.

Elsa brought her arms up to rest them in his back; she felt the shadows and the strange but nice feeling of them, not warm or cold just a pleasant feeling of stillness. Her fingertips and palms shaking a little by hugging the last person she thought would do something like this. "Ok, but don't do it ever again." She said with concern in her voice, not wanting to think of him leaving her again.

They remained like that for minutes, compensating the time they were separate, just the loud in the ballroom brought them back to the reality and breaking their embrace slowly and also, making them feel uncomfortable again by their previous actions. Elsa was making sure her hair wasn't so messy as she thought and Pitch came back in his usual posture with his hands in the back. Both trying to breath normally but not getting any good results in the intent. As the sounds in the ballroom increased, Elsa felt her time to go was near her, she needed to go but didn't wan to. Pitch knew it and wanting the same, not for her to go although it was necessary.

"So…Can see you after the party?" asked the young woman with a tiny sense of hope. But Pitch shook his head slowly, almost not wanting to give that answer.

"I have a round to make in a couple of hours, and your party won't finish in that time. I know Anna too." He said with sarcasm, hearing the laughs of the Queen at the true comment.

"Well…tomorrow night?" she said imitating his position with the hands and his serious look, Pitch felt like we was with that girl again that used to smile at him every night, but with more elegant gestures and a sophisticated way to talk. He gave up.

"Fine. Maybe you'll show me how well you control your powers." Elsa giggled, wanting to hold back the surprise and thinking in some tricks she invented for the next time.

"Deal, see you tomorrow then. Oh, Pitch..."

"Yes?" he turned back to her, waiting as Elsa thought about it twice, and then she shook her head.

"Nothing. Good night" She sentenced and turning away slowly, looking at him before she went back and seeing the usual way he leaves, disappearing without a trace in the shadows as the silence remained in the hallway.

Once inside the ballroom, she came back to her place and looking how fast Anna was walking with Kristoff in hand as he was making a trouble face, like f they're about to fall in any moment. Before Anna reached her sister, Elsa thought about their reunion back out of the light, she never admit it but now she was certain when Pitch comfort her and felt all of that emotions at once, most of them were happiness after the solitude that haunted her nights after his leaving. He heart racing at the thought alone of seem again to show how much she progressed with her magic, that's right, magic. She no longer see her powers as a curse like she did before the day of the Eternal Winter, thanks to Anna she manage to see her powers in a different way, a way to bring happiness to her people and also an item to protect them. Her little sister used to say 'Do the magic! Do the magic! Because it made her happy whenever they play around in the castle. Now she would make a demonstration to the person who wanted to teach her in the first place long ago, that made her smile thinking how proud Pitch would be. But again, she thought about her feelings twice before saying them out loud, she was scared to be the one being rejected this time.

"I love you, Pitch" she said more quiet than a whisper, this time, not wanting him to hear what she thought and feel. She came out of her musings when Anna touch her hands and smile at her. Elsa returned the smile and buried her thoughts like some kind of distractions from the happy day of her sister.
