As Christmas and Boxing Day passed, the Potter Family slowly began to heal. Harry became his happy self once again and James slowly figured out how to parent as a single dad. Fleamont and Euphemia were steadily there to offer whatever support they needed.
It was the start of Easter break when Minerva received a summons from Potter Manor. She rushed there and was quickly ushered into the family parlor. "Euphemia," she asked as she noted the older witch was the only one not present.
"In labor," Fleamont answered as he paced back and forth. "She's having a difficult time."
"Euphemia and the baby will be fine," she offered. "Death promised us. There is no need for worry."
"We have all tried to tell him that," Sirius said from the couch where he was being used as Harry's pillow. It appeared Harry was tired of waiting and decided to take a nap.
"Mother is having some difficulties but we keep telling Father not to worry," James added.
"Euphemia will be fine," a chilling voice said from the corner. "Lily has befriended the Fates," Death added with a cold chuckle.
"What does that mean," James asked curiously.
"Lily has managed to get a few guarantees from the Fates," Death answered. "I haven't seen anyone in the past few centuries do that. She is as full of fire in death as she was in life."
"That's our Lily," Sirius said with a grin.
Death looked Minerva and smiled. "How is the Champion's Heart today?" he asked. "Still discovering forgotten spells?"
Minerva raised an eyebrow at that but shook her head negatively. "Harry and Hogwarts take up most of my time."
Death grinned at her. "You have moved Hogwarts in the right direction. I imagine it will be far different by the time youngest Potter arrives."
"Hopefully for the better," she muttered.
"It shall be," Death confirmed and then glanced at the entire family. "Enjoy the surprises," he said as he disappeared.
"He is far too mysterious," James uttered.
Harry woke that moment and ran to Minerva. He kissed her palm before pulling her towards Euphemia's bedroom. "We need to wait Harry," she tried to reason.
The bedroom door opened and Healer Smith stood tiredly. "Come on in," he said. "Euphemia wants to see the entire family."
Minerva blinked in suprise at the timing and looked back to James and Sirius. They both shrugged their shoulders helplessly. It seemed they didn't know what to make of Harry longing to see his Grandmother. Since Halloween, Harry had developed a profound attachment to Euphemia.
As the family entered the bedroom, shock filtered across every face. Euphemia was propped up against a mountain of pillows with two bundles wrapped in her arms. The blue bundle they had expected but the pink bundle was a suprise. She grinned at her family tiredly before uttering, "Seems we had a stowaway."
"No wonder you had difficulties," Sirius mustered. He gave James a gentle shove towards the bed.
James shook himself from his stupor as he moved towards the bed. He picked up Harry and gently sat him in the bed next to Euphemia. Harry looked at both babies briefly before looking at his Grandmother. "Okay Gran," he asked concerned.
Euphemia smiled lovingly at her eldest grandson before nodding her head. "I'm fine Harry," she reassured him. "What do you think of your brother and sister?"
Harry looked back at the bundles curiously. He moved his brother's blanket away from him a bit and eyed him closely. The messy Potter hair stood out immediately. Harry moved toward the other bundle and pulled the pink blanket away. Firey auburn curls adorned the girl's head. Harry grinned and bounced a curl on her head. The girl squirmed and opened her eyes wide. Startling green eyes stared at Harry. "Like Mum," Harry managed and looked at Euphemia.
His grandmother smiled widely and nodded her head. "She favors Lily," admitted the elder witch.
"What do you think we should name her?" James asked his oldest son. He had stared at his twins in pure joy and wonder as he pondered on a name for his little princess. James and Lily had discussed names for their newest son in great detail before her death and had decided on Charles.
"Rose," Harry answered without hesitation.
"How did you decide that so quickly?" his father asked.
Harry unwrapped the pink blanket gently and pointed towards a strawberry birth mark in the form of a bloomed Rose. "I dreamed it," Harry said. "Mum said Rose."
Minerva moved towards Harry and touched his hand. She focused on their connection and sought out Harry's dream. She found it and watched it in fascination. "Lily did visit Harry in his dream," she informed the family. "She explained Rose was the Fates gift to James for taking away his hope for more children."
"Of course Lily would fight for James in the afterlife," Sirius chuckled while remembering his best female friend.
James wiped an escaped tear from his eye before lifting his daughter in his arms. "And what an amazing gift Rose Elizabeth is," he whispered as he gazed at the newborn girl lovingly.
"Don't discredit Charles Evan," Fleamont said as he scooped his newest grandson up and deposited him into his father's arms with his twin.
"Never," James whispered as his lost control of his emotions and his tears flowed with wild abandonment down his face. The family kindly ignored his waterworks and simply rejoiced in the newest editions to the Potter Family.
