Surprises, who saids, and explosive candies:
"Who said?"
"A-a-licia!" George stutters, taken aback – and falling to the ground with a crash and a clatter (the mirror.)
"Surprise! And Katie," a second figure appears at the doorway.
"It's us scaring you for a change," Alicia smirked, "So what were you muttering about so darkly? Something about our dear friend Angelina?"
"And your twin brother Fred?" Katie swung her legs over the bedpost to sit next to him.
George winced, and Alicia, noticing his discomfort, added: "I seem to recall that before the ball, Angelina told me they were going as friends."
"Oh, really?" Katie feigned thoughtfulness, "I believe Fred said the same exact thing!"
If they were skilled at Leglimens, they would be able to see George's heart rise considerably (but the slight smile on his bemused face gave it away.)
It was certainly a better present than what they gave him hours later – which turned out to be a packet of explosive candies (payback for giving them Ton-tongue toffees at the beginning of the term.)
