Old Men Are Always Right

A few years has passed from that fateful day and life for the two clans changed for the better…or worse. Really, depends on how one looks at the situation. For example…

The tranquility and calmness in the atmosphere of the Hyuuga compound is something that marvels guest because despite the business of such a big compound, the amount of peace oozes in the air. Or at least, the calmness and peace can be found inside the study of Hyuuga Hiashi's office. However, there are just some places that can not stay calm and peaceful forever. Especially when there are that today during such tedious wok three children stalking him outside his door

"Neji, what is he doing?" quietly asks a child with mop of blonde hair covering his ears and parts of his ears. The veins around said Neji's eyes bulge out a bit as he activates his dōjutsu. Quite impressive for such a young ninja to activate his dōjutsu at a young age

"He's just sitting there. Doing paper work as he always does around this time, Naruto. Why do you ask now?" the boy who turns out to be our Naruto pulls out a round object with a pin in the top and smiles in a way that can only be described as a foxy grin which greatly accented his other foxy features.

"Hinata-chan, how mad do you think he'll get this time?"

"Oh no" was all Neji could say wishing he had kept his mouth shut and started to eye the possible exits. However, the now visible silent girl known as Hinata who was behind him let out a startled gasp at the sight of the well known evil ball. Both recollected the last time they had seen Naruto throw a ball into Hiashi's study. The room had filled with the smell of rotten tomatoes and horrible days old fish. There is no telling what this ball had in it and for once they did not want to find out. Small they may be, but never stupid. Naruto cast in the tiny object and they all seemed to vanish, and seconds later the loud yell.

"Naruto! I'm going to Jyuuken you into the oblivion!" was heard for miles around especially by the boy in question who is hiding under a desk somewhere in the compound. Not wanting to get caught up in the scandal, our silent observer Hinata and unknowing watchman Neji went to their personal rooms to ride out the storm. In another room, a beautiful violet haired woman silently laughed at the sound of what could only be another one of her adopted son's antics. It was never a dull day when Naruto stayed at the compound.

Ten minutes later, Naruto, having not hearing the door slide open, got out from in under the desk and stood up straight, dusting himself off. Some of the dirt from jumping to the bushes after throwing the ball had gotten in places that only a little kid could get them in. Turning around, Naruto jumps as Hiashi is standing right in front of him, glaring with a broom and dust pan in hand. Only one word could describe this moment.

Busted!

While scratching his head, Naruto had only one question.

"Hey, how did you get in here?" the boy was honestly confused. Didn't Neji say that he was working on some papers. Chuckling, Hiashi pushes the broom and pan into Naruto's hands.

"Naruto, I wouldn't be a very good clan head if I didn't have a trick or two up my sleeve. Now go clean up your mess." Hiashi ushers Naruto into his study, which looks like a hurricane and an earthquake went off.

"By the way, what was in that ball this time?" Always curious as to what was going on in this young foxling's mind, Hiashi watched as Naruto's tail swayed back and forth as he got excited. The young blond's ears could be seen twitching happily.

"Nope, not telling!" the young blond says as he uses his tail to wrap around a vase that was dropped and start to sweep up the broken glass from the nick knack that was on the desk.

Seeing that his young charge was not going to confess to his (what Hiashi could only pray is his latest) invention, Hiashi shook his head

"Uzumaki, when I get back, I expect this room to be cleaner than it was before you through that ball in here!" Hiashi walked away, knowing the young blond would not ditch his cleaning duties. He was proud that the young blond was able to create such inventions at ease.

'Much like his father,' he thought. 'Always inventing something for a prank.'

He pretended not to notice his eldest sneak her way pass him. She could never be too far behind whenever Naruto pulled his pranks. He'll start to worry about the two of them in a few years. But onto more pressing matters, like where did his wife go? She was suppose to keeping watch over the young rascal.

Hinata walked in quietly and eased the door back into place.

"Ano Naruto-kun, would you like some help?" Flashing his foxy grin at Hinata, Naruto looked adorable in Hinata's eyes, with his tail swaying back and forth. Especially when the room looked worse than that morning. How could someone so small and with such a cute ears and tail make even a bigger mess was beyond her little mind's comprehension.

"Sure, if you can find your way through here, I think I've made a bigger mess than when I started." Naruto laughed as Hinata started to pick up the papers thrown all over the floor.

Time flew by quickly as they were busy cleaning. Before they knew it, the room was in the same state of cleanliness as it was before. It was at that moment that Hiashi walks in, quite happy to have been able to spend some time way from work and with his lovely wife, all because of his favorite excuse-Naruto.

"Ok Naru..." Hiashi stops for a moment and notes the state of the room. There is only one person who could gotten the room cleaner than when the maid does it and she is hiding somewhere.

"Hmm. Hinata, I suppose you helped him, didn't you." It was more of a statement than a question really as Hiashi direst his comment to the room in general. Peeking out of her hiding place, Hinata quickly responds her father.

"Hai tousan."

Hiashi's eyes softened at this reaction. Motioning her to come out, Hiashi addresses both children "Alright, Naruto. You have finished your punishment. Now, I want you and Hinata to go mediate in the dojo. I'll be there shortly to over see your training."

"Hai" the two chorused.

Hinata couldn't help but giggle at the way Naruto's tail would swish back and forth while he had the idea of training in his head . Just watching the way the li'l fluffy thing moved side to side was so adorable. She just wanted to touch it.

"What are you laughing at Hinata-chan?" Naruto said softly. His tail slowed down a bit and began to droop down a bit. He was still a little sensitive about his tail, even with Hinata.

"Nothing Naruto-kun." She stuttered as she didn't want to bring up her fascination with his tail. Walking into the dojo, they passed into the view of many other Hyuuga in the main area of the building. Hinata and Naruto walked on by, passing them into a private room where they could practice alone.

Naruto walked in the room slowly closed the door after Hinata came in and ran as fast as his stubby little legs could carry him over to a cabinet stocked full of scrolls on Jyuuken techniques. Although he couldn't perform the Jyuuken without the Byakugan, Naruto was still required to practice the movements.

According to Hiashi, practicing fluidity with Jyuuken would help with any fighting style including the polar opposite of Jyuuken, the iron fist technique. Hiashi walked into the room glancing at Naruto and sighing loudly at him for already reading over the scrolls.

"Naruto, must you really be so hasty. You must learn patience, if you are to truly understand the Jyuuken."

"Ah heh heh" Naruto laughed nervously rubbing the back of his head, his tail swaying side to side."

"Ano tousan, what will today's lesson consist of?" Hinata asked.

"Today's lesson is going to be on chakra flow. As you know, chakra flow is very important and crucial to a shinobi. Not knowing your chakra flow can be a big problem because you are going to be wasting chakra by pushing it the wrong way. Naruto, we'll have you go first, I need you to meditate and to clear your mind of all thoughts. You need to only feel the energy within you swirling and go with the flow and memorize the way it flows every turn and direction."

Naruto sat with his face contorted and sweating. He was having trouble concentrating on his chakra. It was like if it was everywhere and no where at the same time.

Naruto opened his eyes to see that he was no longer in the room from the dojo, but was in a dank hallway filled with stagnant smelling water.

"What is this place?" he said trudging through the filth.

As he moves down the hallway, Naruto comes to two doors. One has chains all over it. There is a kanji for 1– 4 on separate chains. The other door, which was open, led to another hallway at which he could sense something resonating from within. With a child like curiousity, Naruto stole one last glance at the chained door and continued down the second hallway. Every step he took the feeling of change multiplying. Once he reached the room at the hallway, he entered the room to which led to another room like cage that was huge. In the middle of this cage, there was a large golden gate with a slip of paper on the outside with the kanji for "SEAL" written on it. But what caught Naruto's eyes was a pair of bright red eyes that came to life behind the bars.

"Ahh I see my jailor has come to see me. It's so nice to see the useless human who keeps me from my freedom!" said the figure within, slamming itself against the large bars of the cage. The darkness still cover the figure's gender.

"What the hell are you talking about?!" Naruto noticed the figure has something that looks like the same ears as him and that he had tails too. "And why do you have ears and tails like me?!"

Sighing, the creature shakes its head. "I see Arashi stuck me with a stupid one. Get out of my sight before I do something we both will regret." And with that the figure flicked it's hand at Naruto, causing him to flinch.

A second later, he opened his eyes to see Hiashi and Hinata standing over him worriedly.

"Naruto-kun, wake up! Please wake up!" her anguish laced voice brought extreme pain to the blond's heart.

Opening his eyes, he notices that the afternoon had turned into night and the dojo's night lights are on. But, more importantly, the lovely violet haired that he called his best friend was crying. For the young nine year old, seeing Hinata cry was like someone telling him that ramen was no longer going to be sold in Fire Country, heart breaking. Softly calling out to the crying girl.

"I'm awake Hinata. See. No crying. Please" he flashes his foxy grin that outlined his foxy features, causing Hinata to give him a watery smile.

Though he is happy to see his young charge awake, Hiashi can't help but be worry about his young son. What could have caused him to pass out for over five hours? Not only was he non responsive to any method of waking him up, but it was like his mind was removed from his body. Patting the young blond's head, Hiashi asks,

"Naruto, why haven't you been answering us?"

With a deep breath, Naruto starts from the begin of his story. With each passing description of what could only be Naruto's mindscape with a nine tailed demon fox locked up, a worried Hiashi begins to contemplate the reasoning behind the fox's awakening so soon. Naruto is only nine. The fox should be under the containment seal for another year or so. This could be a very bad omen for his young son.

He had to get the others and inform them of the new changes. Seems like they will not be able to hide the past so easily. He waits until Naruto finishes calming Hinata down, who when the demon was mention started to hyperventilate. Spiders, water bugs, and all insects his daughter can handle, but Naruto being threaten, well she has two ways of reacting. Either she threatens and punishes the offender, like she did to a branch member who blamed Naruto for his brother's death, or she has a mental breakdown for a few moments, like now. After a few deep breathes, Hinata, though a bit red, was fine.

"Naruto, Hinata go wash up for dinner. Your mother is probably wondering why the two of you have not come to her sooner."

"Hai, tousan." As the children start to make their way towards the main house, Hiashi quietly calls out.

"Naruto, go to sleep after your night lesson. We have to see the Hokage in the morning."

Naruto stops walking. He turns to Hiashi.

"Why do we have to tell Ojisan?" Naruto curiosity out-growled his stomach as he didn't see the reason the Hokage had to be involved.

"Naruto, simply do as I say you'll find out in the morning." Naruto begrudgingly walked form the room sticking his tongue out at Hiashi just as he got to the door.

"And Hinata, what you have heard here is not to leave this room unless you are speaking with me or Naruto about it. Do you understand?"

She nodded her head firmly wandering what was going on.

"Hai tousan , " she walked from the room still worried and her thoughts racing.

"That boy is going to aged me far beyond my years." Hiashi sighs. "The Hokage was right after all."

Slight Author's Note,

Hi everyone. Thank you for reading A Kitsune in Konohana. I am working on rewriting this story along with the rest to fix the glaring spelling, grammar, and of course story plot hole mistakes made the first time around. As you can see this chapter is not originally mine but my fellow writer, Hidden Fox Salix. I've added a few extra details here and there but the chapter is still mainly Hidden Fox Salix. More updates on their way. Ja ne!
