A/N. This is a companion piece to 'Love Holds, Duty Traps'. It makes more sense if you read that first, but it can stand alone.

The pain ripped through her mind like the burning fires of hell.

'Long raven hair flows freely as deep brown eyes survey the death plains.'

'Solid walls of men march steadily to their doom.'

'Sword smashing on sword, axe on shield, mace into flesh.'

'A nameless man lying lifeless on a blood soaked field.'

The tall, thin girl was curled on the floor like a breeze caught in a hurricaine. Her eyes slowly cleared as she escaped the whirling violence of the Gods' prophecies.

'No. Not her. Anyone but her.'

She could barely stand, but rose as a determined breeze rises from nothing. He fluttering hands whispering as she smoothed the fold of her pure linen dress. The seer gazed through her window as her mind slowly rode the winds back from the plains of prophecy. Her hawk eyes snapped to the pair of figures silhouetted against the evening sky. Despair crept into her heart as she realised what was in store for the young lovers, what would happen to them if the Gods' will came to pass.

'A prowling woman strode around a tent. A war tent.'

'Young men cry to each other as they are butchered in two.'

'A shriek of blinding pain split her mind and she could only watch as the nameless man trembled and fell.'

"Princess!"

The scream broke out of her walled mind like a gale, leaving her weeping against the windowsill.

She didn't see the silhouetted pair whirl around and run back into the palace. Only the sound of light feet, carried by the winds told her sharp ears of the visitors. She only had enough time to straighten before the princess burst into her room.

"Ione! What happened?"

Hawk eyes surveyed the raven haired beauty as she fought the onset of another fit.

'No. Not now, not with her here.'

She couldn't stop it. Her eyes started to glaze over and she fell to the floor.

"I cannot! I cannot!" screaming, she longed for the princess to leave, leave before she heard her fate.

'The raven haired princess stood over a body, whirling as she fought her own men.'

'She stood at the side as her princess was sentenced to death.'

'The palace walls fell from the peoples' might.'

Nothing. Nothing left.

"Run. Run my princess. Take your prince and run."

The terrified eyes seared through her mind as the hurricaine spun around her and lifted her to the darkness.
