Pain. I'd already had my fair share of it in life. There was my human life, where my parents were always too busy arguing that they left me to take care of myself. As a child, my whole world was that way. School was hard because I didn't have any friends, and even worse, my grades weren't exactly…adequate. However, that was nothing compared to the day I began my transformation from human to vampire. I figured that I had enough pain in my human life, so one day I wandered off into the forest beside my house…with a goal in my head, and a knife in my hand. All I remember is sticking the knife into my chest. When I woke up, I was in a strange man's arms. But I felt…safe. And warm. And…happy, for the first time I could remember. When he realized I was awake, he spoke. "Don't worry…" he whispered. "Everything will be alright." Then the pain started again. A feeling of blazing fire scorched my body for three unbearable days. There were times that I longed for another knife. On the third day, it subsided, and I was a newborn vampire. I heard the voice of the strange, yet comforting man once again. "Welcome to the supernatural world." He told me, WAY over dramatically. I froze. At that time, I had no idea what the hell he was talking about. He laughed. "Oh, I've ALWAYS wanted to try that! Freaking out newborns is my new hobby!" I didn't think it was very funny, though. "By the way," he said, "I'm Emmett. Welcome to the Cullens."
