In the past few months, I've seen some strange things. I never thought Goldshire could pose a threat to the Alliance. It is a nuisance, surely, but never a danger. The "sex trade" generally consists of, 'Hey, let's consummate' followed by, 'Okay.' It's a town of debauchery where monogamy is considered quaint. The outskirts feature a host of romantic spots such as a small lake with a large tree overlooking it. There's also an abandoned cottage nearby. Most people don't go to that much effort, however. The most popular spots are open fields, various clumps of bushes and upstairs at the Lion's Pride Inn. It's also a favored destination of Alliance forces, but that doesn't do much to affect their fighting spirit. In fact, it probably helps.
As far as actual danger goes, there are two main things to consider. First is the continued presence of the Defias gang. While mostly a minor problem, their durability is perplexing. Every time I clear out a camp of them, they seem to respawn within a few minutes. They're only dangerous to commoners and neophytes.
The more serious problem is the occasional Horde raid. What they don't do in the way of property damage, they make up for in…um…personal damage. They kill or injure any man who puts up a fight. As for the women…I will not go into specifics. You can't rape a willing soul, but playing rough makes them decidedly unwilling. While these raids and the Defias presence do little to affect the Alliance war effort, they present serious dangers to the people of Elwynn.
