Chapter 3

I woke up to the usual gloomy Forks morning. Jacob was again asleep beside me, on his side, with his arm slung around me. But his arm was different this time, more gentle and soft, instead of tight and possessive. It was Monday and 7:00 in the morning, the usual time I wake up for school.

"Jake," I shook his chest, this time he didn't tighten his grip on me but fluttered his eyes open.

"Yes, Bella," He spoke half awake.

"It's 7 you need to wake up for school," I whispered in his ear.

"Is Charlie still home?" He asked me.

"No he leaves at 6 remember," I reminded him.

"Then we can just stay home all day, right?" Jacob smirked.

"No, Jake don't you want to go to college, for our baby," I whispered again. I knew this would make him get ready. If I even mentioned our child in the conversation, he would do anything for me (muh ha ha).

"Fine I'll get up," he shrugged.

We both got up from the bed and he gave an affectionate to kiss me and our baby before he hopped out of my window towards La Push. I grabbed my toiletries bag and towel and headed to take a shower. Once I was in the bathroom I turned on the shower to warm and began removing my clothes. I noticed my bump was slightly bigger than yesterday. I smiled at the thought of our baby. When I got out of the shower, I blow dried my hair, brushed it, brushed me teeth, and got dressed. The rest of the morning before school I just ate and headed out the door.

When I arrived at school in my Chevy, everyone was staring at me. I tried to ignore them as I headed to my first class but I kept hearing these snickers and whispers.

"Is it true, is she?" one girl whispered to the other.

I was beginning to get frustrated because I had no idea why everyone was staring at me until Jessica came up to me.

"Hi Jessica," I smiled at her.

"Hi um can I talk to you before class," she asked uneasily.

I looked at the clock which read 8:25. 5 more minutes before class started. "Shoot," I told her.

"Ok, um there are these rumors going around school saying that you pregnant, and I'm just wondering if you were because you are getting a little round in the tummy area….no offense," Jessica asked quickly biting her lip.

My heart began to beat fast and my head spun; I wasn't showing that much was I?

"Who told you?" I asked bitterly.

Jessica now knowing the answer had a shocked look on her face. "Umm I heard from well everyone, it's around the whole school," Jessica responded nervously," Are you ok?"

The ground seemed to be swaying uncontrollably until I realized that it was me. Suddenly the world went black. I woke up to a small bright flash light in my eyes. My head was pounding and I didn't know where I was.

"I think she's waking up now," an unfamiliar voice spoke.

"Thank you doctor I think we'll be good now," Charlie spoke. I heard footsteps fade away.

I lifted myself up and opened my eyes to find that I was back in my house. Charlie had a concerned look on his face.

"What happened?" I asked but knew what actually did. Jessica asked if I was pregnant, told me that everyone at the school knew and then I fainted.

"You fainted before 1 block," Charlie chuckled," they called me and I brought you home, are you feeling ok?"

I nodded my head as l laid back down on the couch. Well you're going to stay home today just to make sure," Charlie told me. I was relieved because I didn't feel like going back to school at the moment.

"Do you want me to stay 'cause I can if you want," Charlie offered scratching his head.

"No Charlie it's ok you can go back to work, I'll be fine," I answered back with a raspy voice.

"Alright, I'll be home around 7 and I'll bring home pizza so you don't have to cook," Charlie informed me before he headed out the door.

I turned to my side and fell asleep to a deep nap. When I woke, Jacob sat in the armchair with a worried expression on his face.

"Are you ok Bella? I heard what happened at school," Jacob asked.

"Yeah," I responded sitting up from my sleeping position.

"Is the baby ok?" Jacob asked nervously.

"Yeah Jake the baby's fine," I chuckled. His tense muscles loosened after hearing this.

"Can you tell me why you fainted?" Jacob laughed half-heartedly.

"Jessica told me that everyone in school knew I was a pregnant," I confessed feeling light headed thinking about that again.

"How do they know?" Jacob concerned asked.

"I'm starting to show a little, "I said pointing to my stomach.

"Does Charlie know yet?" Jacob asked biting his lip.

"It didn't seem like it, He didn't say anything," I commented.

Jake sat down on the couch next to me and thought for a few minutes.

"You we're going to have to tell everyone soon," Jacob announced.

"Well the whole pack already knows huh," I snorted fiddling with my fingers.

"Nope, they don't know yet but they know I'm hiding something because they doubt that I'm thinking about fruit all the time and naming them off by the alphabet," Jacob laughed bringing me closer to him.

I was now in his lap and he had his strong arms around me resting his hands on my stomach.

"It's going to be hard telling Charlie given he doesn't even know we're together," Jake said giving a low chuckle.

"I'd rather tell your family before mine," I admitted with a slight laugh.

"You know the whole family is getting together tonight at Sam's and Emily's," Jacob suggested," We could tell them tonight."

"That sounds like a good plan," I smiled.

Jacob and I held a dreamy kiss before parting because he had to go and get back to school before his lunch break was over. I again fell back asleep waiting for Jake to pick me up at 8 tonight.
