The strangest thing about them
Is not their closeness
The way he looks at her
Only when she isn't looking
It is their odd
Out-of-place
Kindness.
Even as I follow them
Around the room
There is never a glare
Or warning
They do not try to intimidate
Or even discourage.
I begin to feel
As if we have something
In common
The girl, Katniss
And I
We both sweep the test
On edible plants
But it's more than
Just that.
Even when I see the
11
And know she's hiding
Something
I would still
Trust her with
My life.
