A collection of letters throughout the Percy Jackson series, all written by our favorite daughter of Athena, to none other than Percy. These letters have never been sent, and Percy will never know.
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Dear Seaweed Brain,
I can't believe you! You think you're all that, being the son of Poseidon and all that crap. You're too stupid to see what's in front of you.
Hence the name Seaweed brain. Meaning your head is full of kelp.
But, I can't see why'd you want me around. I've been nothing but mean to you. There are tons of girls here at camp that are nice to you. You could be with any of them. But you choose to stick with me.
Why?
I'm using you, but you can't see it. You're my ticket out of here, nothing else. Don't go deluding yourself into thinking anything else. See, I've never been outside of camp, 'cept for those solstice meetings in Olympus. But those don't count! We're safely shuttled from here to there, and vice versa.
I wanted to see how good I was. Too many campers before me had too big of pride, and thought that they were invincible.
Guess what? They weren't. They died, just like all the other reckless heroes.
I guess I wanted to be tested. I wanted to see if I was like all the others. Like I told you before, 鄭t camp, we train and train and train some more. But out there, out in the real world, with all the monsters, well, that's where we see if we're any good or not."
I wanted to see if I was good. It was a matter of pride. I thought I couldn't be beaten, that'd I'd trained too much to lose.
Boy, was I wrong.
But you. You don't care about pride. You don't care about image. All you want is your mom back.
I wish I had my priorities straight, like you. Life would be so much easier.
But I'm not you. And my life is just as complicated as the next demigod. So, I'm going on this quest with you.
And, hopefully, we'll all come back alive.
