Chapter 1: Lionblaze
It had been so many seasons since Lionblaze had fallen in love with Heathertail. So many moons since he had talked to her. Lionblaze's heart ached as he remembered the cold hatred in her eyes as Lionblaze looked at her for the last time. Lionblaze gave small sigh of sadness. "Lionblaze!" called Firestar. Lionblaze quickly ran over to his Clan leader. "Yes Firestar?" he panted. "Would you like to go to the Gathering tonight?" meowed Firestar. "Blossomfall, Hazeltail, Poppyfrost, Ivypool, Cherryblossom, Thornclaw, Cloudtail, Dovesong, Foxleap, Birchfall, and Brackenfur are going." Lionblaze nodded and joined the group of cats. As he passed the nursery Swirlykit and Robinkit, Rosepetal and Foxleap's kits, tumbled out. "Can I go too?" mewed Swirlykit. "Nuh-uh! You already had your share of mouse and that's my share of mouse and that's my favorite fresh-kill!" hissed Robinkit. "Now kits. We should be thankful for the prey we actually have," meowed Foxleap. Lionblaze purred as he watched the kits lash their tails. "Come on Lionblaze!" yowled Dovesong. Lionblaze turned to his former apprentice. "I'm coming!" he replied and raced off.
