This is supposed to be a one-shot moment of Zutara with a slight chance of more eventually being added. This was from a while ago that I found recently. I came up with the idea while listening to the song "Dreams Collide". I hope you like it.

Disclaimer: Obviously I do not own The Last Airbender. If I did, Kataang would cease to exist. He's only a kid.

The tall slim young woman with long brown hair neatly in a braid down her back and dressed in a blue and gray attire, placed her hand gently on the scar across the left side of that face of a tall young man in green and yellow, his dark hair covering parts of his face. She had offered him peace and healing.

Though they had been enemies for quite some time, being captured and stuck down in an underground cave for a while together, they began to think differently. After finally beginning to understand one another, what had kept them apart seemed to vanish. The scar that he had received from his own father a few years before appeared as a curse that had brought him so much pain. She longed to release the pain; to make him happy. Her intentions were to heal his face, but something in her mind had pushed it away. Slowly, they began to move closer, their faces inches from each other...

Something tapped Katara on the head. She awoke to Momo pouncing around, trying to catch a bug. The waterbender sat up to see the flying lemur grab the insect and stuff it in his mouth. With wide-blinking eyes, the small flying creature stared at Katara for a long moment before flying off elsewhere.

Seeing the sun barely peaking over the horizon, she laid back down in her sleeping bag. She closed her eyes and hoped for more sleep that wouldn't come. Giving up, she instead stared at the ceiling. The quietness easily brought her back to the moment interrupted by a hungry Momo.

It was only a dream. She thought. Though it seemed real...

When they were in the caves under Ba Sing Se, Katara had offered to heal Zuko's scar. As they moved closer together, her heart began rapidly beating. She thought that it was the fact that they were so close and not fighting; that she didn't know what to expect. Could it have been more than that before Aang and Iroh had burst in to save them? Katara could only wonder.

It was not the first time she had dreamed about the banished prince. She would have dreams of him on occasion since the very first time they met. They weren't quite t he best of dreams. Since their time together in the underground caves, she began to think of him differently, and so her dreams changed. Instead of the horror that he would bring to Aang and her brother, they were of kindness and peace, the short time they enjoyed together. Now that Zuko had joined their group at the Western Air Temple to teach the Avatar, those dreams became more frequent.

She had felt betrayed when Zuko turned on them back in Ba Sing Se. How was she supposed to forgive him after that? He was a traitor to his country and once to them. She couldn't understand why she dreamed of him often, even when she was awake.

Turning to her side, she noticed Zuko sitting on what was left of a pillar in the distance, watching the rising sun. Without warning, he turned to meet her gaze. Katara in turn glared at him as she stood up.

"Stupid dreams," She mumbled bitterly, heading on her way to start breakfast.

So, what do you think? She knows that she has feelings for him, but is afraid to admit it, even to herself. I'm debating on making this longer and continuing closer to the finale, but I really like it the way it is. Please Comment!
