Hey I just had this sudden idea come into my head about the conversation Gwen and Elyan had in their cell about Arthur. This is what I think should have happened instead of what happened in the episode. I'm only using the idea from the episode nothing else. It will switch half way through to Arthur and Merlin

In their Cell

Gwen looked at her brother Elyan who was sitting on the hay just metres from her. He looked different from the brother she had seen four years ago. Not just in appearance but in his personality as well. He normally wanted people to save him and would joke but this time he was almost angry at Gwen for bringing a rescue party out.

'So' Elyan began causing Gwen to jump.

'So what?' Gwen replied.

'You and Arthur'

'Really Elyan be mature'

'Oh come on Gwen. You are a servant he is Prince Arthur of Camelot. If he wasn't in love with you then would he really risk every thing for what a serving girl wants?' Gwen sighed. Elyan did have a point. She was going to have a tough time getting out of this situation.

'Well I'm friends with his servant and that's how I know him. He probably wants to kill Cenred.' Gwen said. She didn't like to think that Arthur only wanted to help her so he could kill Cenred. Noises from outside distracted her brother for only a second.

'Well that may be but Gwen the way he looks at you, I don't like it.' Elyan continued.

'Oh really Elyan' Gwen huffed. 'I don't think its time for you to be the over protective brother here.'

'I wasn't trying to be over protective! I just don't want you to like him because he's rich!'

'Elyan! So you're just telling me not to be a slut! Thanks!'

'No! Don't take it personally but you are only a servant don't you think people may object? Like the king for starters.'

'That's why he says nothing can ever happen between us!'

'And what do you think about that then?'

Gwen didn't have time to answer as Arthur and Merlin came crashing through the door.

A few minutes earlier

Arthur and Merlin peered round the corner. Arthur wondered what to do but all of a sudden Merlin pushed him out to face the guard by himself. You owe me Merlin! Arthur thought before he was thrown into combat.

Arthur had him finished within a minute. Merlin threw him the keys to Gwen and Elyan's cell. He was just about to open it when he heard voices.

'I wasn't trying to be over protective! I just don't want you to like him because he's rich!' Elyan was saying. Arthur got offended. Would Gwen really like him just because he's rich? Merlin came over and listened as well.

'Elyan! So you're just telling me not to be a slut! Thanks!' Gwens voice shot back. Merlin giggled ad Arthur shot him a look.

'No! Don't take it personally but you are only a servant don't you think some people may object? Like the king for starters'

'That's why he says nothing can ever happen between us!' Arthur mentally kicked himself. He made Gwen think that he didn't want to be with her.

'And what do you think about that then?' Arthur wanted to hear her answer but Merlin opened the door and they crashed into the cell.
