Earlier:

"Daiki... He's nice and funny and fun and he likes flowers and-..." Sesshoumaru's eyes began to flicker.

A bit later than Present:
The miko came to draw him out of his brood.
"You know. She doesn't mean it like that."

"Besides, at worst, it's only a crush.

"Yeah. Oh the meaning!" Would she get on with it?
"A short-lived infatuation." Oh. So this would be over.
