Name: Five Years

Rating: K

Characters: Wes, Soul, Maka

Five years. Five years since he had last seen his little brother. Wes fidgeted as he watched the plane from Death City, Nevada land. Last time he saw him, Soul was a short, scrawny thirteen year old. So when a rather tall, muscular young man approached him, Wes has to take a moment to make the connection.. The violinist didn't even notice the girl holding hands with his brother.

"Soul?" Wes muttered softly, taking a few steps towards the white haired man. Neither smiled or made any move to approach the other any faster than at a causal pace.

Maka looked between the two brothers quickly. No outward reaction but she could feel the excitement, fear, happiness, and some other unnamable emotion filling her partner's soul. Soul's footing faltered one step away from his brother, almost like he skipped.

"Wes."

"Soul."

No one moved for a heartbeat and then they were hugging. Wes fisted his hand in Soul's shirt as he pulled him closer. Soul responded by pressing his head into the nook of Wes' neck, just like when he was little. His older brother was slightly amused in that moment, he was still the taller of the two even though Soul was more muscular.

"I've missed you. Missed you so much." Wes whispered softly as they pulled apart. Soul started to say something but stopped when Wes smoothed a thumb over his cheek. He looked at his brother quizzically, "You have scars."

Maka watched with mild confusion as Soul took Wes' hand and touch the tips lightly. "Comes with doing what you love."
