Hide and Seek
A/N: Okay, so I made this fanfic for my sister. It's her birthday and I wanted to make this as a present for her. Hope you like it, sis!
"Daddy, let's play," Lily, my youngest child and only daughter, whined.
"Why don't you ask James and Albus? I'm sure they couldn't say no to you, sweetheart." True. My two sons loved their sister too much.
"I already asked them and they agreed," she said merrily. My five-year old daughter was clearly pleased with her brothers' affection.
"There," I said with a wave of my hand as I went back to my paperwork. This Auror job was really stressful. I sensed that Lily was still there, so I looked back up to see her pouting.
"What is it, Lils?" I sighed.
"I wanted you to join, Daddy. Even Mommy agreed. They're all waiting for us in the living room now. Please." She gave me those puppy dog eyes that she knew I couldn't resist. I sighed again.
"If you don't join, I'll call Mommy to hex you," she threatened. My daughter knew, at this age, what to say in this kind of moments. I narrowed my eyes at her and her brown eyes were dancing with mischief.
"Fine," I finally said, picking up my daughter and making my way to the living room.
Ginny had her lips pressed together as if trying to hold back laughter. I must have been sulking because I caught my two sons winking at their baby sister.
"Okay Lily, what do you have in mind?" I asked in an offhand tone.
"Hmm…," she put a hand under her chin and thought deeply. We all smiled at her. After a few moments, she gasped, "Aha! Let's play hide and seek."
"Typical," James muttered under his breath.
"Okay, sweetie. Since you thought of the game, you'll be the 'it'," Ginny smiled fondly at her.
"Alright. But only up to ten," she said because that's the furthest digit she could recite. "Oh and no magic, okay?" she added with narrowed eyes. After agreeing to the demanding little girl, she turned to face the wall and started counting.
James and Albus hurried to find a spot to hide while I already had a place in my mind. As quiet as possible, I ran upstairs and went to mine and Ginny's room.
I hid at the cabinet where we have our clothes. I squeezed my way inside and waited. Seconds only, the cabinet door opened and, instead of Lily, there stood Ginny. She smiled when she saw me inside and also merged herself in.
We just made it in time to close the door when we heard Lily shout, "Ready or not, here I come!"
In the little room, I could hear mine and Ginny's breathing and she let out a small giggle when we heard James screaming, "Not fair!" I touched her face and I felt her head turned in my direction. Slowly, I leaned in and touched my lips to hers.
We were locked in a passionate kiss when the cabinet door swung opened. I reluctantly pulled back to look at my three children staring at us, dumbstruck.
"Mom, Dad, just… don't do that in front of us…" James wrinkled his nose.
"James Sirius Potter, we are doing that in private," Ginny defended us, stepping away from the closet. Lily was singing, "Mom and Dad, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g."
"Lily, they're not sitting on a tree," Albus corrected.
"Right," she agreed but she continued her chant.
"Let's just not play hide and seek, please," James groaned.
"Oh, you can go play. Your mom and I are going to be very busy…" I trailed off suggestively while Ginny looked at me with a sly smile.
"Ahh…" The three screamed as they ran out of the room.
The both of us laughed and the game was finally forgotten.
A/N: Hope you like it!
