It Takes A Nub

Chapter 8

Escape

The plane touched down in Switzerland sometime around eleven-thirty pm local time. Chuck and Willies escorted Carly and Freddie through the airport and past the customs agents with the wave of some documents and began to walk out of the terminal. Willies kept Carly in hand and that forced Freddie to remain in check.

"Freddie darling," a woman's voice pierced the silence of the group, "Oh my God, how are you honey?"

Willies and Chuck turned in the sound of the voice at the same time that Freddie did and they were all greeted by the sight of a gorgeous blonde about six feet tall, hair down to her shoulders, almost ivory skin and the most stunning pair of legs. Chuck, despite being angry at the interruption, felt himself get hard.

"Countess Rene," Freddie smiled at her as she threw her arms around his neck and began to kiss him on the cheek, "it's been almost two years sweetheart, how are you doing?"

"Better now that I see you darling," the countess smiled at him, "What are you doing here lover?"

"Just traveling," he said to her, "Hey, do you remember what you did for me in Paris?" he moved his eyes from Chuck to Willies quickly.

She winked at him, "I remember that "pulse" thing honey, and I've never had that kind of great sex since. I do hope we can get together while you're here, I need to "have my pulse taken", and you're the man to do it."

She moved closer to Chuck and then screamed as loud as she could as she slapped him as hard as she could, "Thief, get your hands out of my purse! Thief!"

Airport security swarmed toward the group and Freddie took the moment too grab Carly's wrist as Willies was shoved out of the way by security. Freddie then pulled Carly along and began to run toward the exit.

Chuck was pushed to the ground as he began to resist the officers. Willies was very calm and complied with the officers demands. Chuck spun around on the floor and kicked at the men and suddenly felt the probe of a tazer strike his scrotum and then felt the full charge race through his package.

Some of his men ran up and Willies shouted at them, "Get Benson and the girl!"

Freddie and Carly raced out of the building and into the streets of Zurich. Freddie had spent a lot of time in the city and knew his way around. He looked back and saw Chuck's men following them.

Freddie ran out into the road and stopped a car. The driver rolled down the window and Freddie spoke to him in German and the man got out and Freddie turned to Carly and shouted, "Get in!"

Carly quickly jumped into the passenger seat and Freddie floored the accelerator and the small car spun tires as they raced off. The five men who worked for Chuck reached the street just as Freddie pulled away. Two of the men pulled guns and forced the drivers of two cars to get out and began to pursue the pair.

"What did you say to that man and when did you learn to speak German?" Carly asked as Freddie raced through the streets of Zurich.

"I told him we were making a movie and I speak five languages, it comes in hand in my line of work," Freddie told her as he checked the rearview mirror and saw that the men were behind them and coming up fast.

"Freddie, Chuck is going to kill Spencer now that I've run away from him," Carly suddenly thought out loud.

"Carly, that's a chance we're going to have to take," Freddie explained to her, "Chuck was going to kill us both if we hadn't got away. This conference on terrorist that's happening here is just the start honey, you heard him, he plans to kill billions. The bigger picture is that we have to let the C.I.A. know what's happening and stop him before he can pull it off. We'll do everything we can to save Spencer, but we have to do what benefits the greater good. Do understand that honey?"

A few tears ran down Carly's face, "I know, but it still hurts though."

"Shit," Freddie swore out loud, "the goon squad has caught up to us!"

The car lurched forward as one of the goon's cars rammed it from behind. Freddie swerved to the left and forced the car behind him into a slight spin and then stomped on the accelerator hard. The little car left the other two in the dust. Freddie looked up and saw goon car one get straight and goon car two jump into the right lane and speed up to catch him. Freddie swerved into the car and felt the impact as his right side collided with the other car. The car swerved to its right and then struck Freddie's hard as goon car two pulled up in the left lane and smashed into the left side of his car with great force. Freddie saw one of the men in the left car roll down the window and pull a gun, so he slammed on the brakes and both cars flew past him and the shot went into car one. As soon as the car came to a complete stop, Freddie slammed it into reverse and floored in again. Goon's one and two both did u-turns and began to pursue Freddie and Carly again.

"Please don't let us die, please don't let us die," Carly screamed at no one in particular, "Trunk, Truck, oh shit, big fucking truck coming right at us!" Carly began hitting the seat as she turned and looked out the rear window.

"Yes, I noticed that too," Freddie said as he whipped into a one way street.

The police office was writing a ticket as Freddie passed by driving backwards on the one way street. The cop looked at the sign and back at the car going backwards again and then to Freddie, who just smiled and shrugged his shoulders and then to Carly, who smiled and waved. The cop followed the car with his gaze until in disappeared. He then turned to see the two goon cars shoot past him. He stared at them and looked down at the ticket he had continued to write and tore it out of the book and gave it to the driver of the car and just walked away.

When Freddie got off the one way street he spun around one hundred and eighty degrees and shoved the car back into drive and again floored the accelerator. As the spun out the back window shattered as bullets flew into the car.

"Keep your head down!" Freddie shouted to Carly.

"Your damn right, I'm keeping my head down," Carly screamed back at him.

Freddie whipped the wheel around and hopped the curb and took off into a small park. He dodged the couple walking down the steps and then the car leaped into the air as they cleared the stairs and landed roughly in the grass, losing two hubcaps in the process. Freddie then cut the wheel hard to the right and drove past the fountain that dominated the middle of the park. Both goon cars came flying down the steps at full speed and cut to the right after Freddie. Goon car one didn't make the cut hard enough and struck the fountain at full speed, knocking it off its base and causing the little car to erupt into flames. The two goons inside had no chance and died a very badly.

Freddie heard and felt another round of shots fly into the car. His right shoulder began to burn and sent a wave of pain through his upper body. He looked down and saw the hole where the bullet had passed through the shoulder and struck the dashboard. Freddie turned into a tight walking path and gunned the engine again and shot down the path blowing the horn as people jumped out of the way. When he reached the end of the path he leaped back out onto a side street and made a quick left. Freddie had spent an entire winter here and knew the city like the back of his hand. He raced along the street toward a set of train tracks. As he did, Carly noticed that a train was roaring down the tracks toward the street crossing that Freddie was racing toward.

"Oh Freddie, train, train, train, big fucking train coming right toward us," she screamed at him, "Shit, shit, shit, shit, oh dear God we're going to die! Oh shit!"

Freddie raced across the track and made it to the other side as the train caught a small piece of the bumper and spun the car around. Freddie turned into the spin and lightly touched the brakes bring the car to a gentle stop. Carly's eyes were wide and her mouth was also. No sound came from her at all and Freddie was pretty sure he smelled urine.

"Carly," Freddie spoke to her in a very calm voice as he saw the goon car turn and dart off looking for a way to reach them, "Carly, honey, I know you're scared, but this only bought us about ten minutes or less. We have to get out now and get to the bank down the street. I have an account there and I have a safety deposit box with some things we need, so we have to go now, ok?"

As Freddie got out of the car and walked over to get her out Carly repeated, "Oh, big fucking train, whoosh! Big fucking train hit, smash," she got out and walked with Freddie, "I mean big, big fucking train. Whoosh. Spin. Pissed myself. Really big ass fucking train. Whoosh!

Freddie put the coat he found in the back seat on to cover the still bleeding gunshot wound. They walked into the bank and Freddie filled out a card with some numbers and then walked to the teller and handed it to him. The man put the numbers into the computer and then pulled out a card and asked Freddie to sign it. Freddie did so and the man looked at the screen and said, "Follow me please."

He walked them to a small room and left for a minute or so. He returned with a box and unlocked it for Freddie and stepped out of the room and closed the curtain. Freddie opened the box and removed a nine millimeter pistol and two clips. He placed one in his left pocket and pulled the breach back on the gun and slapped the second clip in and depressed the lever and the breach snapped back into place. He lowered the hammer and placed the safety on and put the gun in his back waistband and covered it with the coat. Next he pulled out I.D.'s and grabbed one with his name on it. He put the rest on the table and then pulled out his babies. The three devices that he had created himself and was rarely without, they felt good in his hands. He placed them in his coat pockets and pulled out wads of money of all kinds. He selected some very colorful notes and placed the rest back along with the I.D.'s, in the box and stepped out and let the teller know that he was done. The Teller took the box back to the safe and Freddie and Carly headed out of the bank.

Freddie looked out the door and saw the car pull onto the street and the three goons get out and inspect the car that the two of them had been driving.

"Ok, we have to get across the street and then get two blocks over to the opera house in the next twenty minutes so we can meet Rene. She's going to pick us up and take us to her chalet to stay."

"How do you know that?" Carly asked, "I mean she didn't say anything about that, did she?"

"It was a code that we used," Freddie explained, "Just trust me. I want you to run to that alley over there and when you get end take a right and wait for me. If I don't come in ten minutes go straight for two blocks and you'll see the opera house. Rene will know you and stay with her, you can trust her. Now go!"

Carly took off across the street with Freddie close behind. He turned to see that the three goons were indeed following them, and then sprinted into the alley. He had used this route several times while being chased. He reached the halfway point of the alley and began to use his other hidden skill, parkour, and began to jump and vault up his way up the side of the two buildings till he reached the ledge two stories up. He waited as the three goons approached the point directly below him. He pulled the pistol out and cocked the hammer back and took the safety off. When they got underneath him, he jumped down and landed on goon one breaking his neck as he squeezed off two rounds and hit the other two in the head. He put the gun back in his waist band and noticed that the coat he had on was now completely red from the right shoulder all the way too his hand. He then took off to join Carly and meet Rene.

Sam walked out of the computer room and headed to the directors office. She was smiling for the first time since Freddie had been caught at the warehouse.

"According to the GPS, Freddie is in Zurich, Switzerland. He's been stationary for a few hours now, so we have a good fix on him," Sam told the director with a smile on her face.

"Zurich, Switzerland?" the director asked her.

"Yes sir."

"Shit, the G2 summit is taking place there starting Friday morning," the director said.

Sam suddenly saw the pieces fall into place. The G2 summit stood for the:

Global

Terrorism

Watch

Organization

The Press had taken to calling it the G2 summit for short. It was one of the many offshoots from the stepped up global terrorism that had sprung up over the last ten years. Thirty-two nations had joined together to fight and root out terrorist where ever they may be hiding. The summit in Zurich was the first meeting of the year and all the member nations would be there. The Vice-President of the U.S. would fill in for the President, but most nations would have their leaders there. If the mastermind behind all this was able to pull something off at this meeting it would be horridness for world peace and security.

"We have to warn them sir," Sam urged him.

"We have no proof of anything right now, and you know how suspicious most of the countries are right now," the director told her, "We need something more tangible to show them if we want them to listen to us."

A young woman stepped into the room and said, "Ms. Puckett a call for you from Zurich, a Freddie Benson, on line three."

Sam leapt for the phone and pressed line three, "Freddie, oh my God it's so good to hear from you, I was so worried. Are you ok?"

"Sam, I can't talk long the phones might have ears," he said, "I need you and a team. Much to do, little time to do it in. I will fill you in when we see each other. I have a female Shay with me, the male one is missing. Chuck Chambers, look him up, he's important to this operation, behind the scenes. You know how to find me when you need to right?"

"Yes, baby," Sam said. She could tell that something was wrong with him. He sounded strange and in pain.

"Will… wait for you lover," he said slowly, "I love you… must… go."

"Freddie, Freddie baby, wait please," Sam felt a chill run down her spine.

"Puckett, take a team and get to Zurich as fast as you can," the director ordered her, "Find Benson and stop whatever the hell this is before anyone gets killed."

Sam was already out the door and arranging the things needed to head to Zurich.

Countess Rene closed the door the room that Freddie was in and looked at Carly, "I'll have to discreetly get him a doctor, he's lost a lot of blood and just passed out. Please don't take offence my dear, but you look awful. You need a nice hot shower and some nice clean cloths. I bet you're starving too."

"Thank you that all sounds great," Carly said to the woman, "are you a girlfriend of his?"

"For a time I was darling," Rene spoke with a glint in her eyes, "Freddie was so sweet and kind. He was quite the gentleman, but alas he was desperately in love with this Sam Puckett that anything permanent was off the table. Still for two weeks it was the best sex of my life. That "pulse" thing of his drove me wild."

"And still remained friends after that?" Carly asked her.

"Honey, he was far to honest about his true love to be mad at him,' the countess winked at her, "and besides, he was better to me and from what I've heard from the other girls, better to them than any man ever was. Besides, he's so damned sexy, and after a night with him, you can't help but love him."

Carly smiled as she went into the bathroom to clean up. She understood what the countess was saying, Freddie was an easy man to love and she found herself just a little jealous of her best friend and the fact that she had Freddie's heart. She began to think of Spencer and said a prayer that he would survive long enough for them to save him.

Well I'm back home, but bummed out about spending three weeks of the summer in bed. This sucks! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I had a good time with it. As always let me know what you think.

.

.

.

P.S. for those of you who have asked me (you know who you are), yes the pulse thing is indeed real. I've had two girlfriends and they can both attest to the fact that it's very real and really works, if done right. And no I don't teach classes! LOL!

Much love to all! Peace!
