Riza gripped Roy's hand tightly.

"Don't worry, I've got you."

Roy remained silent. He looked forward and blinked trying to clear the object obscuring his vision. Black. No matter how hard he tried everything was black. No light could penetrate the thick darkness the surrounded him.

"That's right…..I'm blind…." Roy though solemnly. He gripped Riza's hand harder. What was he doing? Where was he going? Oh, he remembered. He was going to headquarters to get discharged. Because what military wanted a useless blind man?

"Hawkeye."

Roy felt her as well as himself stop.

"Yes?" She asked turning to him.

"Do-do you think I'm useless?"

"What? No, why would you think that?" She asked a bit taken aback by his sudden question.

"I'm blind….and I can't do anything on my own. I have to have help. With everything. I'm an inconvenience to you." Roy replied quietly. "No you're not! I don't mind helping you. I swore to always be by your side, remember?" Riza replied with a warm smile.

"That's not the point! So what if you swore that to me, it doesn't matter now! I'm blind and I can't do anything! I can't even see your face again!" Roy yelled back tears spilling from his lightless eyes. Riza wrapped her arms around Roy's trembling body and held him closely.

"As I said, it doesn't matter if you need help. I don't mind. I'd always help you." She replied.

Roy sniffed and looked up hopping he didn't miss her face.

"There's no need to look at me with such shock." She told him.

"B-but why would you stick around?" Roy asked wiping his sleeve across his eyes.

"Because I love you." She told him straightforwardly.
