I do not own Narnia

Edmund Pevensie was unpacking his bag, he was deep in thought at the moment. He was missing Eustace, he never thought he would say this, but he did the young boy had grown on him after they had left Narnia He and Lucy and Eustace had grown close in the weeks they'd spent together. Peter didn't know anything yet, he didn't know how to tell him. Was it unfair? ''Are you OK?'' Peter stood up and started pacing making him nervous. ''You seem...off.'' Edmund nodded.

''Everything's OK, I'm just thinking''. He pulled out a photograph, a picture of himself and Lucy and Eustace, they were out in at the park. They had gone out to practice sword fighting. He smiled slightly, Peter glanced over at it, shaking his head, ''I still can't believe he's changed.'' Edmund sighed.

''Anyone can if I can''. He commented, ''Its all possible''. Peter clapped him on the Shoulder.

''You weren't that bad''. He shrugged, and smiling he walked out of the room leaving Edmund behind. That's when Lucy Entered the room, she sat on his bed.

''You didn't tell him?'' She asked she looked confused. ''He'd want to know''. Edmund shook his head.

''I don't think its fair, they couldn't go back''. He pointed out.

''We can't either''. She pointed out as she fingered the Photo. ''I miss Eustace''. She commented, with a sigh. Edmund nodded setting the picture on the dresser.

''I do to''. He sat down and put his arm around her, and she put her head on her shoulder. They just sat there like that, not noticing Their Dad about to enter the room. ''What do you thinks happening there now?'' Lucy winced, none of them liked to think about it.

''They could all be dead now, or they could be just getting home from the voyage, I don't know''. Edmund kept his arm around her, being away had made them closer, when he was 10 he never would have done this. ''I don't want to know.''

''I can't believe we can't go back''. Edmund shook his head. ''I'm going to miss it so much Lu''. They were quiet just thinking about things, until Lucy said something that made Edmund wince.

''Edmund, why did you try to Enlist?'' That had been the stupidest thing he'd ever done, he would've had to leave Lucy. He shook his head.

''I thought it would...Help''. he admitted. ''I thought I could help as i'd been to war before with Peter''.

''What are you talking about?'' A new voice joined, the room Edmund's blood ran cold. He gave Lucy a look filled with fear. He couldn't speak. ''Ed?'' Peter's voice made them turn around.

''What do you mean you tried to Enlist?'' Peter was deathly pale. But Edmund was looking at his Dad, who was looking at the three of them, with shock and fear. Peter reached over and pulled him into his arms. Edmund still couldn't speak. ''What were you thinking?! Edmund what about Lucy?! What about the rest of us?''

''I wasn't thinking about that!''. Edmund defended himself. ''I missed Narnia Peter!''

''That doesn't mean you need to Enlist! What if you died?'' Edmund didn't want to, think about what would happen if he died. He had almost died, because of his own selfish ways. ''Ed if I lost you...'' Edmund knew they weren't talking about if Edmund died. They were talking about when he almost died. The look in Peter's eyes told him.

''But you didn't''. Edmund told his brother knowing it wouldn't be any help, he knew how is brother felt, he had felt the same thing when he thought Eustace had died. All the fights all the arguing didn't matter, all he cared about was his cousin was gone and Edmund had been so hard on him, he was only a kid, he didn't know. Lucy seemed to know what he was thinking she touched his arm.

''I almost did Edmund, that's all I dream about''. Edmund didn't know this.

''What happened?'' They had forgotten their Dad was there at all, They all glanced up, Edmund didn't know what to say. He felt himself begin to stammer a reply. Peter's face fell, all kids hated to talk about the day they'd almost lost Edmund. ''Edmund tried to enlist?'' Edmund shuttered a big sigh, he nodded slowly, there was no hiding the fact now.

''When Lucy and I were away''. He put his arm around her, he didn't know what he was thinking almost leaving his sister. She put her head on his shoulder. He knew he'd scared her to death. The look Peter gave him was chilling, it was the same look his dad was giving him. But from Peter, it was worse, Peter had raised him.

''Please don't be disappointed''. He begged. He couldn't stand the look, it was killing him. ''I just felt so useless Peter''. Peter stood up and sat down next to him and put his arm around him and the siblings sat like that.

''Edmund, you're fifteen,'' But he wasn't, He was older then fifteen, he only looked fifteen.

''But_''

''Here your fifteen, you wouldn't survive''. He was right, he wasn't trained to use guns, he was trained to use swords. He nodded.

''I know, I don't want to have nightmares anymore Peter''. He said. ''All I see, is all the lives I killed in battle''. He looked at the face of his Dad, the only other person who could understand. He sighed and turned his attention to his Dad. ''We went to a land in a wardrobe one night, we were there for years... Peter and I fought in so many wars, I guess I just wanted to help''. All three eyed their Dad processing this information what if he didn't believe them? Then slowly he started to nod.

''I believe you''. He clapped the boys on the shoulders. ''I've known something had changed, since I came back, you four were all the sudden a family all on your own.'' Turning to Lucy and Edmund he said: ''You two went back at your aunts didn't you?'' Slowly the two nodded, and Peter's eyes sparkled as if he'd always known. Then without hesitation, the two began to tell their story.
