I walked into the old library, having borrowed a key from the head office, which was dedicated with 2 plaques: one, to a "Richard Vernon, the Principal who served 27 years, 1973-2010" and the other to "Carl Reed, Janitor for 23 years, 1980-2013". I was greeted by my best friend, the one who had taken the long trip from New York to Shermer with me, Damien Hatter. "Damien, old friend, I've got some even older friends to introduce you to in just a minute." I said to him. "Finally. I get to meet some of the members of the infamous Breakfast Club. So, who am I meeting first?" Damien replied. With that, Andrew Clark and Allison Reynolds walked in. "Drew, Ally, nice to see you." I said. I walked up to the two, who had been together since senior year in high school. Ally ran up and hugged me, saying "Hey there, Ralph." Drew walked up and shook my hand. "This is Damien, guys. We met in a record store in New York, and the rest, as they say, is history." I told the two. They shook hands with Damien, and made small chat for a while. I walked up to the window, and heard a God-awful sound coming from outside. I soon found out that it was a ratty motorcycle, with another of the Club, Bender driving, and some girl with dyed hair riding shot gun. They soon also joined us in the library, and we all awaited only one other person. She was, as she should've been, fashionably late. "Claire, you look like hell." Bender said, as soon as she entered. "And your date looks like…" Bender started, before I cut him off. "Whoa. Let's all just calm down a little bit, shall we?" Bender just gave me the evil eye, and Claire looked as if she was about to cry. Her date took her in his arms, and walked out. Soon, Bender and his woman left, leaving Damien, Andrew, Allison, and myself. Damien said he thought it would be best if he left. We agreed. Andrew and Allison had me laughing despite my worries that Bender might just have ruined the most important reunion that the 5 of us could ever have.
