hey guys it's me again! here's the next chapter! enjoy! PLEASE REVIEW! :)
Leo and Kiko were fighting as usual.
But this fight was different.
The other turtles weren't there, neither were any Foot Ninjas.
"How I live my life is my own business!" Kiko yelled.
Leo's katana collided with Kiko's dagger.
"You can have a better life than what you have now!" Leo reasoned. "And I can give it to you!"
"You mean living in a sewer, cowering below a city of humans who if discovered your existence would take you to a government lab to be dissected!" Kiko shot back. "What kind of a life is that?!"
She struck her dagger at the turtle.
"What kind of a life is chasing down an innocent family who has no intention of war and just wants to live out their lives together?! In peace!" Leo retorted.
He quickly blocked her attack.
Kiko growled. "Don't lie to me! My father told me everything!"
"He told you wrong!" Leo said.
"Liar!" the Foot Ninja yelled as she took another strike.
She pinned Leo down and held her dagger at his throat.
"Remember Jason?!" Leo said. "Is this what he would have you do?!"
"You know nothing of my Jason!" Kiko said darkly.
"I know enough to know he would have wanted this." Leo said.
"He knew nothing of the war." Kiko said.
She pressed the dagger a little harder until a tiny trickle of blood rand down Leo's neck.
"You said I remind you of him." Leo said. "That's why you let me live."
"What?" Kiko gave a confused look. "I never said-!"
"Yes you did." Leo cut her off. "After Kasai took us back to New York."
"SHHHHHH!" Kiko said quickly. "Don't say that name out loud!"
"Why?" Leo asked.
"Just don't!" Kiko said.
"Why?! Because of your idiot decision to practice Necromancy and summon a demon?!" Leo said.
"I never did that!" Kiko said defensively.
"Yes you did!" Leo said.
Kiko pressed the dagger a little harder and more blood ran down Leo's neck.
"Before I kill you, let me ask you somethin'." she said. "If the only person that you could trust with your darkest secret and have come to love was killed, and you had the only one chance to ever seeing them again and finding out their killer without experiencing your own death even though the results could be a disaster... would you take the chance?"
Leo realized she was waiting for an actual answer.
"What is this really about Kiko?" he asked.
Kiko sighed. "I might as well tell you..."
Leo sensed a story coming.
Memories came back to the Foot Ninja that she had numbed out for so long.
But she remembered. And she remembered well...
Kiko took a deep breath and began her tale.
(listen to Evanescence- My Immortal. for this part of the story.)
Several years ago...
A girl stood alone...she kept her distance form the others.
The wind blew through her long, dark, hair.
Her deep brown eyes expressed so much emotion that if someone was to look at them they couldn't tell there was any emotion at all.
Her bones may have healed since the rockslide so many years ago but her heart hadn't...
Solitude was her life now.
She let out a sigh, not noticing the shadow approaching her.
"Hey." the person said.
The girl looked up.
A 16 year old boy with shaggy blond hair, sparkling blue eyes, wearing a football jacket, jeans, and sneakers stood before her.
"You look like you could use a friend." he said quietly.
"M- me?" the girl asked shyly.
No one had taken notice to her in years.
The boy nodded. "What's your name Kitten?"
"I'm...uh...Kiko..." the girl said. "And you?"
"I'm Jason." the boy replied. "Jason Kyser."
Kiko looked up into the boy's eyes.
In a world of darkness there will always be a spark of light.
She couldn't remember where she remembered that phrase but it seemed to fit this case.
"You wanna hang out?" he asked.
"Hang out?" Kiko repeated.
What was 'hanging out'? She was sure she had never done that before.
"Yeah." Jason chuckled. "You wanna?"
"S- sure." Kiko answered.
Normally she would have said 'no' but something was different about this person. And she liked it.
A very faint smile came across her face when Jason took her by the hand and led her away...
Months had gone by.
The two had become extremely close friends.
They were sitting under a huge tree on a hill watching the moon and stars.
Kiko rested her head gently on Jason's shoulder and sighed.
For the first time since getting separated from her father, she felt loved again.
Jason put his arm around her.
"This has been the best day of my life..." Kiko whispered.
"I love you..." Jason said quietly.
Kiko looked up at him. "I love you too..."
Rustles were heard in the bushes.
"What is that?" Kiko asked.
"They've found me...!" Jason muttered.
"Who?" Kiko asked.
He pulled a knife from his pocket.
"Run while you can." he said.
"I can't just leave you!" Kiko said.
Jason squeezed her hand tightly. "I'll be okay."
Kiko looked into his sparkling blue eyes.
"Promise?" she whispered.
"I promise." Jason answered with a little smile.
Kiko hugged him then ran as fast as she could.
She turned and looked back when she thought she was far away enough.
A disturbing sound filled her ears.
The sound of a gunshot.
Jason didn't have a gun...who did?
She waited for a while before deciding it was safe.
"Jason?" she called, expecting an answer.
There was none.
"Jason?!" she called nervously, fearing the worst.
Still no answer.
"JASON?!" her voice cracked at the end.
She walked to the spot where Jason had told her to run from.
A grisly sight was before her.
Lying dead under the tree was her beloved Jason.
He had been shot in the head and blood was everywhere.
His promise was broken...
Kiko let Leo up. "Go..."
"I- I had n- no...idea..." Leo mumbled.
"Just get out of here!" she yelled. "Now!"
Leo backed away.
"I said GO!" Kiko yelled.
Leo climbed down the fire escape and ran.
Kiko sighed. "I love you Jason..."
She walked home.
