A couple of weeks went by quickly. Carly was back on her feet and her bruises were slowly fading. The governor had watched Carly every moment he could the past couple of weeks but he had also kept his distance but he knew now that he was going to have to have the conversation with her about whether she would stay in Woodbury or hit the road.
The Governor wouldn't admit it to himself but deep down he really hoped that Carly would stay.
The governor strutted out his apartment and into the streets of Woodbury looking for that beautiful blonde hair. He spotted her talking to Milton; the two had grown into great friends.
"Carly, can I speak to you for a minute?" The Governor said smiling broadly at her
"Sure" Carly said giving the Governor a dazzling smile of her own.
The Governor led Carly to a bench that sat back off the streets of Woodbury so that they could have some privacy. The governor turned to her and spoke up,
"So, I see you are healing up very well and it's good to see you up on your feet. I was wondering what your intentions were now that you've healed. Are you going to stay?"
Carly was taken back and hesitated in her answer "I haven't really decided because I haven't really thought about it, I've just been focusing on healing."
"Well we'd like ya to stay if you want. I know that you would be happy here and you have made a couple good friendships already." The governor said. He was reeling in his mind. He wanted to tell her that HE wanted her to stay and that HE wanted to be her friend or maybe more. He couldn't figure out where these feelings were coming from.
"Give me some time to think things over. I do like it here and it's not like I have anyone out there I'm looking for or anybody waiting for me. I'll let you know what I decide in a couple of days."
Merle was talking to the Governor about a couple of places they wanted to go check out for supplies. But the Governor was hardly listening to a world Merle was saying. The Governor didn't want Carly to leave. He wanted to get to know her and be around her more. He just felt this unbelievably strong pull towards her. ..
"Hey oh, Governor, are you listening to me?" Merle said waving his hand in front of the Governor's face.
Suddenly the governor had an idea of how he would convince Carly to stay and get to spend some time around her.
"Yeah, im listening. Ill go check out these places myself and Ill take Carly with me. Leave here and go tell her I'd like her to go with me." The governor said.
Merle looked perplexed but he turned on his heel and left to find Carly and tell her the Governor wanted her to come with him in the morning.
The governor sat down in his chair and tried to calm his nerves. For the first time in a long time the governor was Nervous.
