Hello, dear readers! It has been an eternity since I have written for this story. It is officially Winter Break, so I am free from classes for the time being. I hope to write everyday and get this story rolling before classes start up again. I hope you all enjoy. Please review and suggestions are always welcome.
Soft caresses in little circles covered his bare back. Little bolts of electricity floating around his entire body. Then the soft, feather touches of lips and tongue, moving slowly. He caught the sweet smell of lavender. He was in pure bliss.
The fragrance and soft moans were enveloping him completely. He opened his eyes slightly and caught a glimpse of dark chocolate brown hair. A smile crept to his face. Her loving voice filled the air.
"Jareth…Jareth…," Oh, her voice is like heaven! "….Jareth….Jareth…..Your Majesty…Majesty...SIR!" Jareth jumped to the sound of his guards storming into his room.
"What is the meaning of this, Cornelius?!" Jareth bellowed as the sweat of sleep gleamed of his half naked body. He looked around to see Sarah not there. It was just another dream his evil soul conjured up.
"I'm sorry to have disturbed you, Sir, but this is urgent….."
"Well? Go on with it!"
"We believe the enemy is on the rise again. There has been talk throughout the neighboring villages that He has been spotted."
Jareth's eyes widened and panic overtook him. "NO! This cannot be-not now. How reliable is this new information?"
"We believe the new development is trustworthy, but I will have my men do a full exploration of the source. If there is a threat, Your Majesty, we will stop it."
"Why is he showing his bloody face now?!"
"Well…Sir….it may have something to do with our new guest…."
"That's impossible, Cornelius. There is no way for him to know….." Jareth began to let his mind wonder.
"Do not worry, Majesty. My men will have this under control as quick as possible if there is a threat at all to you and the queen. I believe that we should escort you to Isamdor for counsel." The tall, blonde guard handed Jareth a scroll, which he quickly glanced at.
"Very well, Cornelius," he said as he headed toward his armoire. "Give me until this afternoon and we shall head out. I would like to speak to Sarah before we make the journey."
Jareth took a last look through his looking glass. Ever since Sarah magically showed up, he had been sleeping so much better knowing she was just a room away. But the longing was still there just knowing she was that close and not being able to hold her, caress her, make love to her like he wanted. This time will be perfect-it will work.
The sound of his boots echoed through the hallway as he headed toward his office. The castle seemed to have a gloom about it. The curtained windows showed a glimpse of the darkening storm clouds starting to loom over the landscape in the distance. Any doubt that He was back faded in Jareth's mind. He needed to fix this quick without Sarah ever finding out.
Jareth walked into his office and went to his desk. He quickly took out the parchment and reread over it. He then heard footsteps resonating down the hallway towards the room. The door swung open to reveal a red-haired fae carrying a stack of books and papers.
"Hello, Niyro," said Jareth with an annoying sigh.
The Fae jumped. "Oh! Jareth! I didn't expect you in here at this time."
"Well, I'm here, as you can see," going back to his reading.
"Sorry, Jareth. The castle has been abuzz with the news of….well….his return. I've been up to my arse in paperwork all night."
"I hope it is just a village rumor," Jareth said circling around in his chair to gaze outside.
"We all do, especially with Sarah being here."
"Yes," he got up from his chair, "For the sake of the kingdom as well. Niyro, I must go with Cornelius and his men to Isamdor. The High King and Queen have summoned me."
Jareth, with his hands behind his back, walked slowly around the room, eyes down. Niyro had been with him for most of his life. He was a childhood companion that his parents brought in from a neighboring village just to be a playmate. Since Fae rarely had children, nobility was not an issue with the younger generations so this form of agreement was of the norm. These children were bought from orphanages or families that could not longer care for the youngsters. Like most, Niyro was taken in by the staff and raised alongside Jareth. He was destined to work at the palace so Jareth wanted him to be appointed exactly what he had been to Jareth his whole life, an adviser.
"Sarah has agreed to spend a human week at the castle. I expect you to make her feel right at home while I'm away. Tend to her every need and want. I want her to find this place a home…as she once did. This is highly unwanted, especially at this time. I wanted to be with her while she is here, but I will not be taking her to Isamdor."
"Quite understood. The last thing you need is your mother and father on your back again about Sarah, especially with this news."
Jareth looked toward the Fae and nodded. He walked back to his desk and rolled the scripted letter up and put it in his jacket pocket. "I hope to keep her presence here as low key as possible...at least at the moment. Well, I head out soon. And Niyro…," he looked back while heading out the door, "…do not mention this in front of Sarah. She must not know."
"Agreed. That would bring up more demons then need be. I will keep her entertained, Jareth, and, out of trouble. Let's hope she doesn't ask a lot of questions, because you remember how I am around that stubborn soul of hers," he said with a sly smile.
Jareth smiled back at the green-eyed Fae. "She has a Queen's stubborn soul after all...always managing to get what she wants. Just try to hold off the questions. Make something up." He started down the passage towards Sarah's room. He hoped this trip would be short. He didn't know how long he would sane without her. In past lifetimes, he was in control of the kingdom and would create the rules, but she ruled his heart. He felt that he couldn't function without her by his side. Eventually when her past lives came to horrific ends, he managed to keep the castle from falling apart, but for himself, not so much. Given another chance, he would make sure she was always safe, until the time he could make her immortal.
As he was getting closer, he heard voices. His senses buzzed. He grabbed his sword from his holster and slide against the wall. Slowly, he crept up to the edge of the hallway he and Sarah shared. Sweat trickled down his brow. He took one quick breath and leaped forward at the source of the noise.
