This chapter contains major spoilers for season 4 episode 10 Smoked. I kept everything the same, just added my own Zabby touch to it. Read at your own risk. I own absolutely nothing.

Look guys, I appreciate all of the suggestions and I appreciate any constructive criticism, but I'm not really a smut writer (I don't like to write sex scenes) it's not that I'm a prude or I think it's gross or anything, I just don't think I'm that good at it and it's not what I prefer to write about. Sorry if you wanted something different, however I did try to meet you guys halfway towards the end of my Driven chapter.

Thank you to my second Guest reviewer for requesting this episode and making it possible for me to keep updating this fic. I hope it is what you hoped it would be.

If you want me to do an episode under season 10, PM me with the name of the episode or Review WITH a Request.

Please if you read, review?

Ziva let out a sigh of relief when she finally came to a new chapter that didn't pertain suggestions about her character, Lisa, being in love with Tony's character, Tommy. Ziva moved on to the chapter where Abby's character, Amy, was present.

Ziva just couldn't understand why everyone except for Tony and herself, believed that they wanted to be together. Only she, Tony, Ducky and of course Gibbs, knew the truth though, Ziva would have much rather preferred being by the side of one, gorgeous, Gothic, forensic scientist, known as Abigail Sciuto, or even more commonly known as Abby.

Ziva flipped another page as Tony came in with the same book in hand.

"Finished McGee's book yet?"

Ziva looked over her book at Tony.

"Half way, you?"

Tony smirked.

"I'm on chapter seven, page one o' three." Tony smirked at Ziva again and began to read from the book.

"Maybe someday Lisa would find the courage to tell Agent Tommy about her dream – the two of them together, their bodies covered in sweat as they made love on the crystal white sands of her homeland." Tony laughed.

"Boy did he get you wrong. Imagine what he would write about if McGee found out, that Lisa would much rather replace Tommy with Amy in that situation."

Ziva started frantically looking through the book.

"I'm going to kill him."

"Kill who?" Gibbs asked as he suddenly appeared.

Ziva answered without hesitation.

"McGee. Have you read this book?"

"Apparently McGee thinks Ziva's in love with me."

Gibbs smirked while Ziva scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"There's a reason they call it fiction, DiNozzo."

Suddenly McGee walked in.

"Boss, just got a call from dispatch. Construction crew found a dead body."

"Where?"

"Chesty Puller High School in Quantico."

"Student?"

"Uh... not sure."

Gibbs handed Tony the keys to the truck as he spoke while McGee who failed to notice both Tony and Ziva who were glaring at him.

"Take the truck. I'll meet you there."

With that he left.

McGee quickly walked to his desk to get his gear, until he felt both of his coworkers hot gazes on him. McGee looked up to see Tony with a copy of Deep Six in his hands and Ziva's copy open and slightly blocking her face. However the disapproving look on their faces was clear.

McGee sighed.

"How many times do I have to tell you? It's not about you guys."

Tony held out the keys for Ziva as she stood up, she snatched the keys from his hand and then set her hardened gaze on McGee.

"I'm driving."

Ziva slammed the door and buckled herself into the drivers seat while McGee climbed into the back and Tony got in on the passenger side.

"Comfortable back there, Gore Vidal?" Tony spoke with a blank expression without looking back.

McGee climbed up to the window as Ziva started the car.

"For the last time, Deep Six is fiction!"

Ziva turned her head to look at him, she held back her anger as she spoke.

"Fiction based on us, yes?"

"No! Look, if you don't believe me, read the disclaimer in the front of the book."

Both Tony and Ziva turned to look straight ahead.

"You buying that," Tony paused. "Lisa?"

Ziva didn't say anything, but she let out a chuckle.

"Didn't think so."

With that Tony turned to hastily put on his seat belt. "Nice knowing you, Probie."

McGee looked to Ziva in slight fear.

"Ziva?"

Ziva put the truck in gear and slammed her foot on the gas. The truck lurched forward causing McGee to fall back.

"Ziva! It was just a book!"

Ziva kept the flash on as she turned her camera from the body to Tony and took a picture.

"You know, in chapter eight of McGee's book, your character does the exact same thing to Agent Tommy. It turns out she has this whole secret photo album of him."

Ziva looked to the side of him.

"Fascinating, Tony, but I wasn't taking a picture of you. I'm more interested in the wild life."

Tony looked over his shoulder to find a rat and Ziva took another picture of the rat over his shoulder.

Tony jumped back with a disgusted noise, making Ziva laugh. Tony turned and glared at her.

"Keep it up and I might just suggest the idea to McGee that Lisa has quite the crush on Amy."

Ziva's amused look was quickly replaced with a glare, but stayed silent.

Tony smiled with fake kindness.

"Wouldn't you enjoy reading about Lisa fantasizing about Amy more than reading about her fantasizing about Tommy?"

Ziva looked down at her camera and pretended that she was cleaning the screen.

"Even if I did, Tony. You and I know that if McGee was to put that in his book it would raise to much suspicion. Abby is a smart girl, she'd figure it out pretty quickly."

Tony's joking smile faded with and was replaced by a sympathetic frown.

"Sorry, Ziver."

Tony moved in to give her a comforting hug, but Ziva stepped away from him.

"Please do not, I don't want to give McGee anymore reason to put us together in that book."

To anyone else, this sounded like normal Ziva, but Tony could hear the underlying sadness in her voice. Tony felt bad for the liaison officer. She wanted so badly to give everything she had to the woman she loved, but both her father and fear of Abby's rejection kept her back.

Tony put his hand on her shoulder.

"It's gonna be okay, Ziver."

Ziva gave him a small smile that didn't reach her eyes.

"Thank you, Tony."

Abby walked around the corner with a spring in her step and a smile on her face. A smile that was wiped away when she saw Ziva pressed tightly against Tony's back. She was bent over and whispering in his ear, every once in a while, Tony would whisper back. What they were whispering about though, Abby didn't know and she didn't intend to find out.

She ran back down to her lab, taking the stairs in fear that the small noise from the ping of the elevator would somehow alert Ziva of her presence. She took two stairs at a time until she made it to her floor. Abby practically tackled the door to get it open before she ran into her lab. As she stopped in the middle of the lab to catch her breath, she recognized the familiar aching feeling that settled in her heart. One that had resurfaced when she saw Ziva leaning over Tony and whispering to him while she was tightly pressed against him. Abby hated the feeling that had now sunk its way back into her heart.

"Abby, they hate me." McGee whined as he watched Abby bag evidence.

Abby didn't look up at him. She wasn't exactly happy with McGee or his book either, especially because she had to read about the character Lisa fantasizing about Tommy and how the character's life basically revolved around him.

"They don't hate you, McGee."

McGee was quick to argue, but Abby didn't stop as she moved from one side of the table to the other, bagging and organizing evidence piece by piece.

"Ziva tried to kill me yesterday."

"Well, you did base all the characters in your book on us and didn't ask our permission."

McGee spoke in a lighter tone as he tried to reason with the woman.

"Deep Six is a work of pure fiction."

Abby set down her next bag of evidence, then she walked up to McGee with a dangerous look in her eyes.

"You described everything in my bedroom."

McGee gave her a dirty smirk and Abby smiled back in a pissed off sort of way.

"Not everything. You still have those-

Luckily for Abby who at the moment really didn't want to hear whatever McGee's next comment, simply because the only person she really wanted to have know about what it looked like right now was Ziva and not McGee, Abby computer went off.

Abby sent a silent thank you to whoever had saved her, before she walked around McGee.

"Fantasize later, Hemingway! I got a match on two of old Smokey's fingerprints."

Abby tried to access the results when a pop up came up with a beeping noise, telling Abby that she couldn't access the results.

"Whoa!"

"What's wrong?"

"The match file is restricted. I can't access it."

McGee moved around to the side of Abby to get a better look at the monitor.

"That's not possible. NCIS has top-level clearance."

Abby didn't look up at him when she spoke with slight anger in her voice, she still hadn't forgotten about the conversation they were just having.

"Duh, McGee. I work here, too."

Abby's fingers were a blur as she tried to work her way into the system to get the results she desperately needed.

"Can you tell who's blocking it?"

"I could. If they weren't in the process of deleting the file from the server."

As Abby spoke the loading bar telling them that the file was being deleted kept getting bigger.

McGee started moving his way in, forcing Abby to move aside as he looked at the computer.

"What the Hell is this?"

Suddenly a voice that hadn't been there before spoke.

"I was wondering that myself."

Abby looked back to see Gibbs and she quickly started explaining.

"We've got two matching fingerprints from the victim, and AFIS just kicked us out. And now they're deleting the file!"

Gibbs came up to stand between McGee and Abby.

"How?"

McGee didn't look back as he spoke.

"Working on it boss."

McGee wasn't able to get the results though, just as soon as he was done talking, another pop up showed up saying that the file had been deleted. Abby was the first to speak.

"It looks like some agency doesn't want us to know who the mummy is, Gibbs."

Ziva worked silently at her desk, typing away at the keyboard while trying to find a lead on the case. Gibbs was standing lightly in front of her desk while he looked over pictures of missing people on the plasma. Gibbs was the first to break their comfortable silence.

"How long's Tony been running errands for the Director?"

Ziva continued typing.

"Pretty much since you retired." Ziva finally looked up at him. "She trusts him."

Gibbs turned to her.

"To do what?"

"You'd have to ask Tony that."

Suddenly a new voice joined theirs, a voice that was much louder and more bubbly.

"Gibbs! Gibbs! Gibbs! I did it!" Abby cheered as she bounced into the squad room with a smile. McGee followed slightly behind her, but he frowned at her words.

"What? You mean we!"

Abby turned to McGee as Ziva moved to Gibbs's side.

"There's no 'we' in McGee!" Abby scolded him before she quickly turned back to Gibbs and Ziva.

Ziva quickly noticed both Abby and McGee fall into a familiar pattern of taking turns speaking. This time it started with Abby and when she spoke with excitement and a bright smile, Ziva couldn't help the small smile that made it to her own lips.

"I traced the connection back to the system that deleted the fingerprint patch."

"It's a government server in Arlington, Virginia."

"Routed into AFIS, directly at the source."

"Our mystery hacker is..."

McGee had trailed off expecting Abby to finish the sentence off with the big reveal, but Gibbs beat her to it.

"The F.B.I."

Abby's smile fell and her brows furrowed a bit. With the fall of the Goth's smile, Ziva's fell as well.

"Uh... Yeah. Sounds a little anti-climatic when you say it."

McGee frowned a bit with confusion.

"How did you know that?"

Gibbs turned his head and looked past Ziva. He spoke with a gesture in the direction he was looking.

"I'm looking at them."

They all turned to see Agent Fornell walking towards them with a man walking behind him. He walked between Abby and Ziva, forcing both women to step back as he stepped right up to Gibbs.

"You've got something that belongs to me, Gibbs."

Ziva stood to the side of Tony's little office space, watching as he whistled happily.

"Are you on medication?"

Tony smiled at her question, but he didn't look up at her.

"Just had a good night last night."

"Doing what?"

Tony took a deep breath and still didn't look up from his work.

"The usual."

Ziva refused to back down, she was going to get to the bottom of this sudden happiness from her partner.

"The usual what?"

Tony looked at a neon green sticky note in his hand with a smile.

"Night."

Ziva stared at him for a moment as she tried to put the clues together in her head before if finally hit her. Ziva let out a laugh at her sudden realization.

"You had sex, didn't you?" she whispered.

Tony finally looked up at her with wide eyes, Ziva knew she had finally caught him.

"What?"

"It's okay to admit it. We're all adults here."

"That's a subject I'd be willing to debate, Officer David." Agent Fornell suddenly butted in, alerting both Tony and Ziva that they weren't alone.

"Where's Agent Gibbs?"

Tony decided to make one of his usual wise guy jokes.

"Well, he must have known you were coming, because he's not here."

Tony stood up and Ziva moved around the small wall to stand beside him.

"It was really more of a courtesy call, Dinozzo. Letting him know about these orders from Justice. The ones where the F.B.I. is taking over your case. Are you sure he's not around?" With each passing sentence Agent Fornell had spoken slower and slower and he had even gone as far to sit into Gibbs's chair to get a jab at Tony and Ziva, Agent Fornell knew that he was crossing lines.

After a few more jabs, Agent Fornell eventually left, heading towards the directors office. Once Tony and Ziva were alone once more, Ziva quickly turned to him.

"Admit it, you had sex."

Tony put both of his hands on each of Ziva's shoulders and walked her backwards until she was out from behind his desk, then he turned around, walked back to his own desk and sat down.

"Why so eager officer David? Desperate to hear about someone else's sex life since your's is currently non existent?"

Ziva glared at him.

"My sex life could be very existent if I wanted it to be."

Tony smirked at her.

"But we both know it won't be unless a certain Gothic forensic scientist chooses to become a part of it."

Ziva narrowed her eyes, but stayed silent. Tony chuckled.

"What was her name again? I think it was extremely familiar with the character Amy Sutton's name in McGee's book."

Ziva continued to glare at him.

"That's enough, Tony. You win."

Tony's smile fell when Ziva swiftly turned away from him, sat at her own desk and began typing without another word.

"Ziva, I didn't mean anything by it."

Ziva didn't look up and her voice held no emotion when she spoke.

"It is fine, Tony."

Tony let out a sigh and walked over to her desk before bending over, resting his hands on her desk.

"Look, I love Abby, but if she can't see what a great woman she's missing out on, then that's her loss. I can't say that she'll come around eventually, cause I'm not sure if she will, but I can say that if she doesn't, she made a mistake and she missed out on having something great in her life."

Ziva looked up at him with a small smile.

"Thank you, Tony."

Abby turned around quickly as the elevator doors opened with a ding. Abby was surprised to see Ziva with a Caf-Pow in hand.

"Ziva? Do you need something?"

Ziva shook her head.

"No, I just came down to give you this."

Abby smiled and moved slightly to the side so that she could hide the flowers and the card that Marty had sent to her, for some reason something inside her told her to hide them.

Abby took the Caf-Pow! from Ziva's hand with a smile.

"Thank you."

Ziva smiled in return, not being able to fight the fuzzy feeling she got when Abby smiled just for her.

"Your welcome."

The two girls stood in a slight awkward silence for a moment. There eyes would dart everywhere, then when one thought it was safe they would risk a glance at the other only to find them looking as well, then they're gaze would scatter off to somewhere else in the room. Finally, Ziva broke the silence with a gesture at Abby's monitor.

"Have you found anything yet?"

Abby looked surprised and confused for a moment, before a flash of recognition crossed her face.

"Oh! You mean for the case, no nothing yet. It's an interesting one though, don't you think?"

Ziva nodded.

"I do not agree entirely with the position we have though."

Abby tilted her head slightly.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean that, whoever killed this man obviously did us a favor, yet we are supposed to arrest whoever did it. I do not like that."

Abby nodded sympathetically.

"Yeah... Sometimes this job sucks."

Ziva opened her mouth to say something, but stopped when her phone vibrated in her pocket. Ziva looked at the screen before putting her phone away and looking back at Abby.

"That was Tony, Gibbs is on his way back to the squad room, I should be going."

With that, Ziva leaned up on her toes and kissed Abby's cheek before rushing back to the elevator. Abby smiled and brushed her fingertips over the spot where Ziva's lips had just been.

Abby was too distracted by the fact that she had work to do and McGee had basically been sent down to check up on her, to realize that McGee was picking at her flowers that had been sent to her by Marty as she ran about trying to think.

"I'm a forensic scientist, McGee. I don't need anyone checking up on me. What I do need is to date those bones, the one's we found in Beef Jerky's backyard."

McGee picked up the card and pulled it out of the envelope.

"Marty?"

Abby stopped and a light of excitement filled her eyes.

"Yes! Why didn't I think of that?" Abby started frantically typing on her keyboard. "Marty got his degree in forensic botany at Penn State. The roots grew into the bones. So if Marty can I. D. the plant, he can probably give us a rough estimate as to when they were buried. Way to go, McGee!" Abby stopped and the excitement left her face.

She stood up straight as she suddenly realized something, then with her eyes narrowed, she turned to McGee.

"How did you know what Marty majored in?"

McGee lifted his head slightly and furrowed his brows.

"I didn't... Who is he?" he asked, turning the card around so that Abby could see the black writing against red paper.

Abby's voice got slightly higher and she lost her accusing look.

"He's... just a friend."

McGee gave her a disbelieving look before he looked down at the card and read it off to her.

"Being with you makes me believe, size truly doesn't matter, Abby."

Abby smiled when she realized she had been caught, there was no use in hiding it.

"Okay, he's a really good friend."

McGee held the card up between two fingers "What about Ziva?"

Abby's eyes became slightly wider.

"How did you know about Ziva?"

McGee smirked.

"I'm not stupid, Abby. The way you act around her, your lucky I didn't mention that Amy has a crush on Lisa." McGee teased.

Abby gasped and then swatted at his shoulder.

"So the book was based off of us."

McGee smirked.

"Stop getting off of the topic. Back to the question, what about Ziva?"

Abby frowned and massaged the back of her hand with her middle finger, while her thumb applied slight pressure to the center of her palm.

"Who am I kidding, McGee? She doesn't like me back, I have to move on. I still have feelings for her and I don't think I'll ever stop having those feelings for her, but I have to try to get over her. Marty likes me, he's sweet and he's kind and he's really really smart, McGee."

McGee tilted his head a bit.

"You can't do that to him, Abby and you can't do that to yourself. You can't just settle for someone. She's what you want, why not try for her, she may surprise you?"

Abby shook her head with a sad look.

"I can't, McGee. I just can't. I can't risk my heart getting broken like that."

"But if you are settling for Marty when you really want Ziva, then your breaking your own heart, Abby."

Abby waved his words off with a flick of her hand.

"She likes Tony, McGee. I read it in your book."

McGee's mouth opened slightly in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

Abby took a deep breath before she started reciting what she had read.

"Maybe someday Lisa would find the courage to tell Agent Tommy about her dream – the two of them together, their bodies covered in sweat as they made love on the crystal white sands of her homeland."

Abby had spoken at such a slow pace that it broke McGee's heart at how sad this small part had made Abby, but then he noticed something.

"You didn't have to read that from the book."

Abby shook her head.

"Chapter seven, page one o' three, paragraph 6. I memorized it McGee."

Abby looked like she was on the verge of tears. McGee rushed forward and hugged her tightly. He rubbed her back softly as he whispered to her.

"It'll be alright, Abby."

Abby stepped in quietly as she looked around Marty's lab with wonder.

"Wow! My mom always told me big things come in small packages."

The small man up and walked up to Abby with a smile.

"What a coincidence. My mom always warned me about tattooed girls bearing... samples." he said referring to the first time he had met Abby.

Abby smiled and looked back to the lab.

"I'm talking about your lab! I love it!"

Marty smiled with pride.

"Yeah? Pretty sweet, huh?

"Sweet? I'd kill for half of this equipment."

Marty gave her a sly look.

"Really? What would you do for all of it?"

Abby smiled and for a moment she rethought her conversation with McGee in the lab. She contemplated telling Marty that she couldn't be in a relationship, but decided not to.

"I'd tell the girl at my work how I really feel about her." When Abby finished her sentence she felt proud of herself for compromising. This way she still had a chance with Marty if she decided just not to tell Ziva.

Marty smiled up at her.

"Gaultheria procumbens. Evergreen shrub. More commonly known as wintergreen or checkerberry. I need to see the photo where the sample was recovered from. " Marty said as he walked around and to the side of Abby who was working at one of his many computers.

Abby pulled up the picture and isolated the spot on the body where the plant was found.

"It was taken from between the fibula and the tibia."

"Go back to the wide shot."

Abby did as he asked and waited for his next directions.

"Now go to that quadrant. That's a wintergreen. About five meters from the remains. Judging from the thickness of the root, annual growth rate, and the soil samples you brought me, you can calculate roughly how long the body's been buried. Plus or minus six months. You can tell it was a live sample by the tiny little offshoots forming off the main root. Want to see?" When he turned around from his microscope, Abby was gone, already on her way back to NCIS. "Abby?"

Karen was sobbing still while Agent Fornell tried to calm her down. Suddenly a phone began to ring. Gibbs looked to Agent Fornell who looked back to him.

"That's not me."

Gibbs frowned and stepped toward the darkened glass while he quickly pulled out his phone.

"What?" he scolded in a whisper.

"How much you wanna bet that's McGeek?" Tony whispered to Ziva on the other side of the glass in the observation room. "Rule twenty-two. Never ever bother Gibbs in interrogation."

Ziva watched as Gibbs's face changed from angry to one of slight shock.

"Tony, I don't think it's McGee."

Just after she said that, Gibbs spoke, confirming her suspicion.

"Got it, Abs. Thanks." Gibbs hung up the phone and his face went blank again as he turned back to the sobbing Karen and Agent Fornell who was trying to comfort her.

"Get away from her, Tobias."

Agent Fornell looked back at Gibbs like he was crazy, but waited for him to continue speaking.

"The bodies in the yard are not from five years ago."

Agent Fornell looked confused.

"They're older?"

"No. They're more recent than that. Her husband wasn't the serial killer. She is."

"Leave it to Abby to find the truth that has a twist to it." Ziva whispered to herself.

Ziva finished shutting her computer down, then she reached for her jacket. Ziva heard the familiar heavy pounding of Abby's boots as she did so. Ziva stood up straight behind her desk and turned around while rapping her jacket around her arms as she waited for Abby to speak.

"There's this guy."

Ziva met Abby's gaze and nodded. Ziva suddenly noticed how warn down Abby looked, whatever Abby had to say had been on her mind for quite a while.

"And he's sweet and he's kind and he's really really smart and he cares about me. The only problem is... That he looks at me like..."

Ziva decided to give Abby a push in the right direction, even though her heart was breaking on the inside.

"He looks at you like?"

Abby took a deep breath before she pinned Ziva in her tired gaze.

"He looks at me like I want you... To look at me."

Ziva was speechless, she hadn't expected this from Abby.

"So if you could just tell me, that you don't feel the same way, then I'll be on my way an I'll be able to start a relationship with this guy, knowing that even though he's second best, I gave my all for my first choice."

Abby didn't look at her as she waited for Ziva to respond. Abby did however follow Ziva's hand as it grasped her's and pulled it up to Ziva's face, so that those very same lips that kissed her cheek earlier, could kiss the back of her hand.

"And if I do feel the same way, Abigail?"

"Then you can come with me to his lab tonight, so that I can introduce him to my girlfriend."

Ziva dropped her jacket and reached out with both hands to cup Abby's cheeks before pulling Abby's face down so that her lips could meet her own.

The kiss was so much more then either women could have imagined and they quickly became lost in it. It was when they were completely intertwined with each other, Abby sitting on Ziva's desk while Ziva stood between her legs, Ziva's hand was tugging at the button of her pants and Abby finally broke the kiss.

Ziva tried to wipe Abby's bangs out of her face, but they simply fell back down, so Ziva instead settled her hands in Abby's now down, midnight black hair and waited for Abby's next words.

"I have a futon in my lab." Was all that Abby said between pants, before she grabbed Ziva's hand in hers and led her down to the lab.

Abby kissed the skin that was right above her heart, before she rested her head above the same spot. Abby could now hear Ziva's heart pounding now that both women were absent of clothing. Ziva kissed the top of Abby's head and soothingly ran her hand up and down Abby's arm with the same one that Abby was slightly resting on. Ziva's other arm was tucked under her own head.

Abby let out a content sigh and closed her eyes, ready to get up and turn of the light before returning to the position she was in now and falling into a deep sleep, but unfortunately her brain had other ideas. Suddenly, Abby sat up with a gasp.

"Marty!"

Ziva sat up slowly and placed a hand on Abby's shoulder.

"Who's Marty?"

Abby ripped the blanket off of herself and started to rush around to find her cloths.

"That guy I told you about earlier. I was supposed to meet him tonight!"

Ziva pulled her knees up to her chest, placed her elbow on her knees, and rested her head on her hand.

"Your still going to meet him, after what we just did?" Ziva felt heartbroken, luckily Abby wasn't looking at her so she couldn't see the tears that threatened to spill over.

"Yeah, remember I told you earlier that I was going to take you with me so that I could tell him that I was with you, so I can't be in a relationship with him."

Ziva instantly felt better and laughed at her own mistake of interpreting what Abby meant.

"Can't we just do that in the morning?"

Abby shook her head as she started getting dressed.

"The sooner he gets the message that we can only be friends, the better."

Ziva chuckled and slid out from under the futon to find her own cloths.

"How far away is his lab?"

Abby finished getting dressed and handed Ziva her shirt before sitting on the edge of the futon to lace her boots.

"About fifteen minutes away, so we'll be coming back here to stay the night."

Ziva nodded and continued getting dressed.

When they were both finished Abby grabbed her hand and rushed her out to her car.

Abby stepped into Marty's lab and knocked on the already open door. Marty looked up at Abby with a confused but welcoming smile.

"Abby, it's two in the morning, I was just about to leave. What are you doing here?"

"I know it's late or early, but I wanted you to meet someone very special to me."

Abby stepped aside, allowing Ziva to step into the lab next to Abby.

Marty gave her a friendly smile and waved. Ziva did the same.

"Ziva this is Marty. Marty, this is Ziva, she's my girlfriend."

Marty's smile faltered a bit at the word girlfriend.

"I didn't know you had a-

"I know and I'm sorry for leading you on."

Abby bit her lip, she knew she was hurting him.

"It's alright, Abby, but we should all really be going, it's late."

He spoke in a tired voice and his smile was sad when he looked at Abby.

The three of them walked together out of the building, but Abby stopped, the other two followed instinctively.

"I hope we can work together again sometime soon, Marty."

Marty smiled.

"Me too, Abs, me too."

With that they went their separate ways.

"Now, before I get fully undressed, do we have anyone else you need to go see at two in the morning?" Ziva teased Abby as she fully stripped down and got under the blanket once more.

Abby laughed and finished taking her cloths off.

"Not that I can think of, but I'll let you know if I think of any." Abby joked.

Abby turned the light off, then she joined Ziva under the covers and returned to their earlier positions. They shared a quick kiss before sleep overcame both of them.

Next Chapter - Shalom

I then am all caught up with request and I am free to take more.
