A Realization
How? How could he have been bested again? Pitch was positively fuming from his second defeat at the hands of the Guardians and there newest recruit Jack Frost. The name left a bad taste in his mouth, he'd succeeded in getting rid of the biggest threat the Guardians posed to him, AKA the Sandman, but he'd underestimated how big a player someone with a power of nature on their side could be.
Everything turned back on him so quickly to, he had the Guardians dead to rights and then he would have snuffed out the last light, but no, the boy had to say… to say… in the back of Pitches mind he saw the memory play out, the boy he was about to eliminate after he took care of the remaining Guardians tugged on Frost's sleeve and said "Jack, I'm scared", moments later a very similar memory resurfaced of a little girl looking to her brother as ice cracked beneath her skates and said "Jack, I'm scared".
That's when the memories became one as the brown haired boy who's faced he'd never seen before sending him to his demise and Jack Frost both said in the exact same tone "I know, I know but you're gonna be fine, We're gonna have a little fun instead". "No, No it can't be, it has to be a coincidence, there is no way this world is that small" Pitch said in a slight panic.
But the more Pitch remembered about the boy he'd seen that day 300 years ago the less he was able to deny it, "Jack Frost was that brat from the pond", it hit him with the force of a nuke, Jack was a spirit all because of his brooding about the Guardians and now the grand revenge scheme over 900 years in the making was completely dashed because of Pitch's mistake.
