Edd POV

Edd's eyes barely cracked open, his head falling back with heaviness. His entire being felt like it had gained at least fifty pounds in weight and he couldn't hold himself up any longer. His head swung around, his eyes trying to focus as he leaned to the side seeing a bright white floor. Something clicked and his head shot straight up. His face fell forward onto a hard, cold, metal surface.

"Oh hey, looks like you're awake," an unfamiliar male voice chuckled. Another hard click followed.

Edd raised his hands up, gripping onto the metal surface, his hands slipping off every time he tried.

"Take it easy, you were under some pretty serious sedatives. The vivid dreams probably didn't help either. You were flailing around and talking like crazy," the voice said again.

"Sir we have the other subject detained. Do you need anything else?" A female whispered to the strange man.

"That will be all, just give him the other shot. He probably won't come out of this by himself."

"Very well." A few clicks and the sound of heels coming next to Edd. "Please stay still Mr. Vincent, this may hurt." Another click and Edd looked up with his blurry vision, barely able to make out the distinct form of a white nurse's outfit before a hot pain hit his neck. He screamed out, gripping the metal in front of him and grabbing his neck as the nurse walked out of the room.

"Mr. Vincent, please. Stay still!" the man demanded.

Edd grabbed onto his neck, his left arm responding. For a moment he didn't know if he was stuck inside of another delusion or if he was actually awake. Judging by the sight of his left arm he guessed he was actually awake. He took deep breaths and stared down at his hands until his vision completely cleared, all of the extra weight he had felt disappeared. He slowly looked up, seeing the familiar face of Desmond staring at him with a raised brow as he sipped from a white cup. A large stack of papers piled next to him.

"Desmond what is this about?" Edd squeaked, his voice showing how unused it had been.

"Hm? Oh," the redhead stood and walked to the left filling a paper cup with water and handing it to the ravenette. Edd took the cup and greedily drank all of it, crumpling the paper and tossing it to the floor as he tried to catch his breath. His blue eyes shot up and locked with Desmond's. He furrowed his brow, realizing that they were no longer their usual green he had been used to. Instead a dull grey almost black covered his entire eye.

"You're locked in a strange room and your first question is about my eyes? How silly Eddward!" Desmond covered his mouth and stifled a laugh. He picked up a piece of paper from the stack and lay it face down in front of Edd.

Edd slowly lifted it, turning it to see a face he hadn't in quite some time. It was Mark, a photo of him with his arm around.. Kevin. His Kevin. "Yes, your Kevin. The other doesn't exist. Well. He does, just probably not the way you want him to."

The raven looked up, seeing Desmond smiling with teeth that almost looked sharpened. "Please. Don't stare, it is rather rude." he frowned," I am just a clone that was used on this specific mission and several others."

"Clone?"

"Eddward are you aware of the fact that you are involved in a high profile criminal case?"

Edd lay the picture down, turning his face away. There would be no way he could rat Kevin out for this.

"On the contrary, I do believe I have a bargain for you that would make you turn Kevin in." Edd turned his head slowly, staring at Desmond again as he sipped at the white cup. "Something wrong? Slightly confused?"

Edd nodded," you somehow know what I am going-"

"To say? Why yes. It is of no use for you to try and retain information. I can and will hear any and every thought that you have while I am in here with you. Your best move would be to cooperate with us."

"Us?"

"Why yes Eddward, us. You are no longer in Canada my dear boy."

Edd looked at Desmond for a long while before the redhead gripped onto his hair, pulling at it until it came off revealing a shaven head. The raven sighed and held his head in his hands. So Kevin was... found out already. But why did they need him? But then he said something about how the Kevin he had.. vivid dreams about was actually a living being? But how? As for Desmond, who the hell and what the hell was he?

"Those are some pretty big questions," Desmond sighed and tossed the wig down, rubbing his smooth head," yes. We have been aware of Kevin's involvement in the disappearance of Mark almost since the incident occurred. He was very.. special to us you see. When he was in distress he sent a signal notifying us he was in trouble. Before we could get to him the signal was lost, indicating that your boy Kevin had smashed the receiver somehow. As to why you are involved it is simple. We have no trace of our special boy and you were the last person other than Kevin that has seen him alive. It would be more than suspicious if we were to dispatch somebody who would try and pry Kevin."

"How do you know this?" Edd sounded angered. He felt stupid that he was being involved in this.

"Mark's girlfriend went missing, didn't you know? We've already tried and failed," it was Desmond's turn to sound angry," Anyways. We need you to either tell us where Mark's body is located or help us convince Kevin to spit it out."

".. and what do I get in return if I help?"

"Did you enjoy your vivid dreams the last few weeks? The feeling of having a loving boyfriend who shared warm moments with you, as opposed to the Kevin that you and I have been interacting with who has repeatedly raped and beaten you?" Desmond yawned, pushing the wig off of the metal table and withdrawing a few more pieces of paper, handing them over to Edd. They were black and white print offs of snippets from his dreams. But how?

"You haven't been in this room the entire time. Before we interrogate any subject we must run tests to make sure that nothing is awry with their body. Think of it as a sort of tune up," the man grinned at Edd. "Did you enjoy your dreams?"

Edd slowly nodded," yes but what does that have to do with anything?"

Desmond rose from the seat and walked around the room, placing his hand onto the bright white wall," do you remember that I mentioned how I am a clone?"

"Yes."

"It is possible to make a clone with an emotional balance that is more towards what you personally have had dreams of. The only thing you will lose out of this deal is an arm, a lifelong 'friend', and of course most ties with what would be your previous life."

"How.. wait," Edd gripped onto his beanie," what would happen to the Kevin I know?"

"He will die of course. It is the only course of action that is feasible to make up for the wrongful deaths he has caused. Afterwards we will replace him with a clone. Keep in mind that even if we are to make an exact physical and genetic replica of Kevin it does not and I do repeat not mean that the two will be similar in any aspect. By that I mean the man that you have come to know has lived through many experiences in his life that have changed him and his morals to where he is now. If we are to replicate him it will, of course, physically resemble Kevin as a human being. The jock build, and any special marks will not exist. We are cloning DNA not life choices. The only tweaking we will do will be of your choice. It is up to you whether or not you chose to play what you humans perceive as a higher being."

"What is it you want me to do Desmond? This is a lot to consider," Edd groaned.

"It is simple Edd, you get Kevin to tell you where the body of Mark is. We will take care of killing him, and you go on with your life as it has been modified to become."

"Me... kill Kevin?" his voice trembled.

"Yes, kill. So do we have a deal?" Desmond walked back, taking his seat and pulling out another paper from the stack, tossing a pen to Edd," sign this when you are ready."

Kill... Kevin? Did he really have the heart to let them kill the man he had grown up with?

Kevin POV

It had been almost three months since the disappearance of Eddward Marion Vincent, the prodigy. It was originally thought that he had gone back to Peach Creek with Desmond, but Kevin had immediately left with Coco to try and find the black haired man with no clues as to if he had even been in the house since the beginning of school. They had filed a missing person's report and a search had been conducted for both Desmond and Edd with nothing but dead ends. Over the months Kevin and Coco had received support and sympathy from the old members of the cul-de-sac. On the three month anniversary of his disappearance it was decided they would take the weekend off from school and all gather to hold a candlelight vigil in hope that he would return. Reluctantly he had invited Coco to come in hopes of cheering up the annoying man.

They had driven together in Coco's car as Kevin's bike didn't provide sufficient enough for all the luggage that the boy thought he would need to stay just three days in the foreign town. Unfortunately Kevin was stuck with the dweeb staying in his house for the next three days. He opened his fridge, grabbing a carton of orange juice and drinking from it. The trip left him feeling groggy, considering the school they had all attended was a good seven hour drive. He couldn't stand listening to Edd's room mate babble on about his makeup classes and how much he missed having Edd in his room and preferred him over his new room mate.

"Ew, put some clothes on," Coco called down the hallway, yawning into his hand. Kevin put the juice carton down and stared at the tiny man slumping towards him. He had his signature black slippers on and a way too big baggy shirt, his white hair a mess. Kevin looked at the shirt and squinted.

"Hey shrimp! I never told you that you could wear my clothes!" Kevin roared over the counter, knocking the orange juice over and grunted in defeat. He hurriedly whetted a cloth and began wiping it up, tossing the rest of it down the sink.

"No, you didn't. I thought I would take advantage over the fact that you are a lot more.. er, muscular than me. Be happy. I almost came down in nothing. I'm not used to having to wear anything to bed or breakfast," Coco yawned again and grabbed iced coffee from the fridge. Kevin tossed the cloth into the sink and watched as the man downed the entire bottle of coffee in one drink.

"How the hell can you even do that?"

"Do what?" Coco asked and tossed the plastic into a recycling box.

"Just take it down like that."

Coco bust into laughter as he grinned and Kevin turned pink," oh Kevin. You ignorant man. Did you forget that I am more than experienced in a few fields? There's not much I can't take down all at once." He continued his laughter and walked off into the house, tripping on the stairs and laughing even more all the way up and into the shower. The water turned on and he continued.

"Jesus, what a fucking psycho," Kevin shook his head and slowly walked into his living room. He knew Edd wasn't ever going to be at the house, but he still looked across the street at the lonely and darkened home that had once belonged to the man he loved. He had been told that within the first forty eight hours a case like Edd's had almost no hope. Desmond had been the prime suspect in what had happened to Edd. It had all been coincidence that the day Edd had gone missing Desmond had pulled from school and not a drop of anything was found inside of his apartment. No surveillance cameras, no notes, no sell signal, nothing. This case was more of a mystery than a missing person's. Kevin gripped onto the curtain and watched as a deep purple car with black tinted windows slowly strolled into the cul-de-sac. Kevin squinted his eyes, who's car is that? It slowed in front of Edd's house and stopped, immediately speeding up and turning out of the division of homes.

"That wasn't weird or anything," he murmured and shrugged it off. He hurriedly ran into his dad's room and turned on the water, hearing a screech come from his bedroom. He grinned and laughed loudly," I thought shrimps liked cold water!" He held a hand over his mouth and continued to profusely laugh, not hearing the water pick up as the other shower was shut off.

Thump

Kevin stopped and looked up.

Thump thump thump.

He squinted at the door and waited, everything staying eerily silent.

Thump thump thump thump thump

The door handle turned Kevin's eyes went wide, surprised to find nothing on the other side. "What the..." he slowly stepped out, looking around from outside of the door," where the hell did that shrimp go?"

"Kevin," came a whisper. He felt the hair rise on his neck as he walked down the narrow hall, looking down the staircase. "Kevin," it came again. He looked around frantically, slowly stepping down the stairs and peeking through the banister. "You asshole!" he heard from behind him and turned enough to see a dripping wet Coco jump onto his back, causing them to come tumbling down the stairs as he let out a growl and bit down into Kevin's shoulder.

"Ouch, you little-! Oh fuck!" he made a loud oomph as they reached the end of the stairs and landed with a loud thump. Coco wiped his mouth and got off from atop of him. He walked in front of Kevin, putting his hands on his hips and pouting.

"Oh god shrimp! You got water all over my house!" Kevin whined and rubbed his aching ribs, slowly standing. "Oh god!" he turned his head quickly, his face going red," goddammit put some damn clothes on if you're going to walk around here! Nobody wants to see that!"

"Edd did," Coco whispered and turned his back to Kevin, looking out the window in the front room. Kevin felt a pang in his chest, dropping his hand as he heard the smaller man walk away. Now isn't the time to talk about Edd when his memorial is tomorrow, he choked inside his head. In truth he had a hard time even thinking about the ravenette anymore. Even if it had been three months it hadn't made up for the almost eleven years he had harbored feelings for the man. If anything it made his feeling more intense. What he would give to be able to see the man once more..

"Hey, you said Edd lived in the house across the street right?" Coco whispered, waving for him to come over.

"Er, yeah, why?" Kevin asked, rubbing the back of his neck as he joined Coco, making sure to keep a distance from his bare body.

"Who's car is that?" Coco asked, not taking his eyes off of the dark purple paint. "Is it his parents or something?"

"No," Kevin shook his head, surveying the house," it must be some other part of his family. His parents died right before his fourteenth birthday."

"Jesus, he never told me that," Coco groaned and rubbed his temples," I guess there's probably a lot he never told either of us."

Kevin nodded, not knowing how to respond to that question. He was more than aware there were a lot of things that Coco knew about the raven than he did. Edd had become very introverted towards the ginger after a while. He could never understand why though... he had only shown love and affection towards the boy. What more did he need? He heard a loud thud and looked back up to the window, seeing the front door open at Edd's house, a pair of black skinny jeans sticking out from the car. "Woah, dude. Wait." He got closer, seeing the legs moving around and pulling out. The figured turned, grey hood covering a striped black beanie. Eventually the person looked behind them. A grimace shaded by sea blue eyes connected with Kevin's. Edd? Edd? Edd? How... how? What?!

"Coco!" Kevin screamed, rapping his fist against the wall and causing the other man to jump. "Coco! It's Edd! Coco!"

"Jesus fucking christ! You scared me! What the hell are you talking about?!" Coco looked away from his nails up to the window, seeing the familiar man casually standing in his driveway, looking at the two peeking from the window. Slowly the raven raised his right arm and waved, he knows we're looking at him, Kevin screamed in his head. Kevin turned away and quickly ran from his front door, not caring to close it or the fact that he was only in a pair of briefs on a dreary day. His body quickly connected with Edd's, tackling him into the grass and causing the raven to drop what he had gotten from the car. Kevin quickly pinned the man down in the wet grass and stared at him with gritted teeth.

"Oh. Greetings Kevin. I wasn't expecting to see you here," Edd stated in an annoyed tone.

"Greetings?!" Kevin screamed through tears," you disappear for three months and all you have to say to me is greetings?! What kind of fucking shit is that?! Do you have any idea what you've put me through, what you've put us all through?! Everybody has been looking for you Edd! Where the fuck have you been?!"

"Thailand," his voice was emotionless, almost as if he couldn't have cared less to see the redhead," look I'm sorry for worrying everybody, but I assure you that everything is just fine with me. I had contractual obligations to be in Thailand for some time. You can't violate a contract Kevin. Do you have any idea how bad that would look on my resume?" The ravenette raised a brow, a weird tone coming from his voice.

Kevin looked up at Edd, his tears almost instantly stopping as he realized there had been something off. Almost as if the statement had been completely insincere. It had been three months of no calls, no e-mails, no contact at all... and Edd wanted to lie to him? He felt his fists gripping and his teeth grinding together at the thought of a liar of a boyfriend. Nobody lied to Kevin Barr, not even the dork. "Edd cut-"

The front door creaked open slowly and Edd immediately looked over, his expression going from disgust to immediate panic as he attempted to push the jock off of him with no prevail. If looks could kill, Kevin would have definitely had a third homicide on his hands.

"Edd!" the familiar voice of Desmond screeched as the door slammed and footsteps came towards them.

Kevin stiffly looked over, his face showing nothing but rage at the redhead next to him. A shadow moved towards the window and his eyes darted seeing skinny pale fingers wrapped in bandages along with green eyes staring at him through the shadows of the darkened room. Who the fuck is that? Did Edd get another boyfriend? Is that why he hasn't been around? Am I not good enough for him? That cheating whore! He turned his head to look back down at the ground, but noticed that Desmond had managed to free Edd and they were now both standing in front of him, obscenities falling like water from Desmond's mouth.

"Who is it..." Kevin whispered, his anger gathering up quickly as he jumped up and stood just inches from the other red head's face. "WHO IS THAT IN THE HOUSE DESMOND?! DID YOU TAKE EDD AWAY FROM ME AND LET HIM GET ANOTHER BOYFRIEND?! I'LL FUCKING KILL HIM! DO YOU HEAR ME?!" he spat out, his screams attracting attention from the others that were staying in the cul-de-sac.

To Kevin's surprise Desmond just looked around at the approaching people and grinned, Edd standing awkwardly behind the smaller man. "You think that whoever is in there somehow has something to do with Edd? Ha! Why would it matter who it is anyways? Edd was never your's you idiot meat head. Look at you Kevin Barr, you are just falling apart." He stepped forward, causing Kevin to reel back and almost fall, the crowd of onlookers beginning to gossip loud enough to be heard. "Be careful what you say boy. Tossing something like murder around isn't funny." He took another step forward, whispering so only Kevin could hear. "Especially when you are as bad as you at covering up tracks." A cackle was emitted as Desmond was the one to pull away this time, Edd giving Kevin a sad look before retreating into the house.

The jock stood dumfounded, hearing the thunder roaring, and before long the neighborhood screeching. What? How... did Edd tell? Why else would Desmond know?
