ISADORA'S POV
The whole school was sitting in the great hall waiting for The 'Big Announcement' Headmistress Jenkins was talking about in our letters.
I felt someone very politely tap my should- who am I kidding? I jerked my shoulder back after I felt someone excessively beat on it.
"OW! What the hell do you want!?" I yelled, turning to face my best friend Annie. She was grinning like a fool and it was starting to worry me.
"What do you think Jenkins was talking about in the letter?" She asked excitedly, her blue eyes lighting up as she pushed her blond hair out of them. I chuckled; she was such a kid sometimes. "I don't know, maybe we're getting a school pet?" I threw out. Deep down I knew it was going to be something much more dangerous, if only I had known to what extent.
BAM! We all turned to see Headmistress Jenkins strut up to the podium at the front of the room, her purple robes and black hair out behind her as if there was wind.
"Welcome all to another year at Salem School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! This year the new students will not arrive until tomorrow; for that there is a reason. The big announcement I told you all about in your letters is part of that reason. I advise everybody from year seven and up not to unpack your bags; for tomorrow we are leaving for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!"
She had to stop because everybody started talking at once. Annie turned to me with a huge smile on her face. Me, on the other hand, I was probably paler than usual with nothing but horror shining in my usually bright green eyes. I knew were this was going…
"The Tri-Wizard Tournament." I whispered, horrified. "What was that?" Headmistress Jenkins asked, the hall had gone silent. I looked up from the table at her, my lip shaking.
"The Tri-Wizard Tournament." I said with confidence. "That's the big announcement, that's why we're going to Hogwarts. The Ministry's brought it off of hiatus. That's why the new students aren't arriving until tomorrow, you want us shipped off tonight! This year they've put a ban on anyone younger than 17 entering the contest, or else you would have taken all but the first years." I started smirking. I knew I was right. "They're finally giving us a chance to compete."
She smiled back at me; and I knew I was right.
"It seems Miss Legend has taken the words right out of my mouth. As of tonight, everyone in this room above the age of 17 is allowed to compete in the Tri-Wizard Tournament to try and bring honor and glory to nit only them, but their family and school as well."
I nearly split my face from smiling so much. At first I had been horrified but now that I know some safety precautions were being used, it just seemed cool.
"Now, we eat!" and with that all the noise in the great hall could have been heard by a deaf person. Everybody was talking and laughing and shouting.
"Is, do you think Salem could finally have a Champion?" Annie asked, finally worried about something. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and gave her a squeeze. "I'm positive we will Annie-Bananie!" I smiled down at her. She smiled back and we started to eat.
If only I had known what was coming next…
Well, that's my story. Review to tell me what you think. This is my first story so flames and criticism are welcome.
Guess what colour Isadora's hair is and I will mention you in my next authors note!
