`It's been 50 years since I wrote something, so without further ado, here's chapter 4.
Disclaimer: I didn't write the original mythology, and I don't own Hetalia.
...
Eros was slowly becoming one of Canada's best friends. He was charming, sweet, and he never once mistook him for America. He even got along with his family, with the exception of Kuma, but then again no one got along with Kuma. He also recommended books to him, watched TV with him, and took him out. They went to many restaurants on Olympus, to shows, and site seeing. Canada realized that Olympus wasn't boring, he just needed someone to show him around.
There were a few problems, however.
The first, was the dwindling time they have left on Olympus. When he started hanging out with Eros, time passed by extremely fast. They literally only had 2 more weeks before they had to head back and Canada was not looking forward to that day. Truth be told none of them wanted to go back, but they had paperwork and a country to run so they couldn't stay forever.
Another problem was that Eros was spending less and less time with him. Before, they use hang out until nightfall. Now they only hang out 2 hours, for lunch and to do an activity. Though that was mostly because it was summer and school was out. Summer and February were Eros and Aphrodite's busiest times. February, obviously because of Valentine's Day, and summer because humans, teenagers especially, had lots of free time. Eros said he was going to try to spend more time with him, but so far he wasn't making good on his promise.
Last, but definitely not least, was his treatment from the residents of Olympus. They looked at him with disgust as if he were trash. Goddesses turned their noses up at his presence, the gods whispered and pointed at him, and the other residents simply glared at him. When he told America, he threatened to kick their ass, which he declined. When he told Eros, he told Canada that they were jealous of him. America agreed as well because it wasn't like Canada did anything bad to them.
Canada himself thought it was because of his presumed weakness. If it wasn't due to presumed weakness, then certainly they would have went after France or England. France was very promiscuous and England had a terrible personality, but Canada looked weak. He had big violet eyes, long blonde hair, didn't talk much and had a soft voice. England had volume and intimidation while France had charisma, everything Canada lacked, thus making him a target.
...
Canada was back to square one: hanging with America and his bear, going to shows with only his bear, and England's selective amnesia. He literally spent no time with Eros and time was passing by. Eros only wrote letters which his bear and America thought were pathetic.
"If he has enough time to write letters then he has enough time to speak to you in person," America said.
"And if he writes them fast, then that means he doesn't put much effort in his letters," Kumajiro said. The sad thing was he couldn't argue with any of them because they both had a point, and after the 2nd letter he stopped responding.
...
"Don't get too full because we have a party planned after this," Greece announced during dinner.
"So that's why the table doesn't have as much food," America commented.
"This celebration will be huge right?" France questioned.
"The biggest we can make!" Greece said with pride. France was about to ask if the party has a theme, when England spoke up, "What's the purpose of this celebration?"
"You guys only have a week and a half left-" Greece was interrupted by England saying, "we have 11 more days, a week and a half is 10 days plus 12 hours," "You have a week and a half left so we decided to make your last days here count." Greece told the group.
As soon as France was about to ask about the theme Japan asked, "I'm honored and thankful, but don't people usually wait to have a big party on the last day?"
"We decided to not wait and have a series of parties now," Greece answered with the gods and goddesses nodding their heads in agreement. "Anymore questions?" Greece shouted.
"Oui, what is the-" "What time does it start?" America interrupted France.
"Oh for fucks sake," France muttered under his breath.
"10:00" Greece answered.
"Anymore question?" Greece asked. France waited and looked around for a few seconds and then asked, "Will there be a theme, and if so what is it?"
"We never thought of a theme, but tonight will be a Greek theme I guess," Greece answered. "Ancient or modern is up to you," Greece informed. Greece put Apollo, Hera, and Aphrodite in charge of planning the themes and design; he put Hephaestus in charge of building; he also put Ares, Poseidon, and Zeus in charge of moving things around.
"This party will be magnificent and huge," Greece said.
...
Canada decided to buy a simple white toga for him and an olive wreath for both him and Kumajiro. America wanted the silk tunic that Andrew Laing wore on Spartacus. England and Japan wore the same thing Canada wore, and Greece wore his usual outfit. France wore something straight out of a fashion magazine.
"I thought it was Greek themed?" America tilted his head at Greece and France. "Modern Greek fashion is similar to the rest of Europe's," England explained. "Oh," America nodded in understanding.
...
Greece wasn't lying about the party being huge. The room fit mini columns, tables of food, beverages, desserts, with room to spare. The food tables consisted of: gyros, sandwiches, meat kebabs, fruit kebabs, vegetable kebabs, mixed kebabs, bread, and cheese. The tables with drinks had wine, water, and juice. The dessert tables had many cakes and pastries.
The music was loud, and the residents were dancing, chatting, and flirting. Even England cut loose and was dancing with Japan. France was mingling with every god and goddess around him. He, America, and Kumajiro were at the buffet table, but those two left him to mingle. Greece was in his room sleeping, as if he didn't get enough. For awhile Canada was alone, the most embarrassing thing at a party, until Eros showed up.
"Looks like you could use some company," he yelled over the music as he took Canada's hand for a dance. Canada knew his voice wasn't loud enough so he just nodded; Another case of American envy, volume.
After a couple of dances Eros suggests, "try some galaktobourekos and baklavas, they are absolutely divine, no pun intended." He tried a sample of the desserts and they were pretty good.
"Only Herc would have going away parties 11 days in advance and sleep through everyone of them," Eros joked after Canada told him Greece was asleep. "He hasn't slept through the next 10 yet," Canada yelled as loud as he could over the music. "Yet, he hasn't slept through them yet." Eros responded.
"I use to cut loose and get as drunk as everyone else, but I realized it's more entertaining to stay sober," Eros said simply drinking juice. He was right because the drunk people were entertaining to say the least. They were yelling, joking, fighting, and falling out. He even heard Kumajiro yell at America, "I fucking hate you because you take Maple's attention from me!"
"His name's Canada and he gives me more attention because I deserve it more than you!" America yelled red faced drunk. Canada could only watch as they fought over who he liked more. England was yelling at Japan about America gaining independence and Japan was yelling at him about Anime. France was the only one acting normal, flirting with every god and goddess.
...
After the party Canada expressed his anger to Eros in his room. "Now you want to hang out with me?" Canada huffed. Eros ran a hand through his hair and left out a breath.
"Look, I wanted to hang out more but mom was on my case." Eros said. "She was constantly watching me, and even sent doves and other gods and goddesses to watch me." Eros said. "It was like a jealous lover, or a micromanaging boss." Eros complained.
"That's why they kept watching you," Eros said referring to the residents glaring at Canada. It all made sense now; they were glaring because he was taking time away from Eros's work and Aphrodite clearly didn't like it.
"We don't have to worry about that now because mom's busy planning these parties so I can afford to slack off some," Eros told him.
"Well then don't slack off too much; I don't want your mom to get revenge and make me fall in love with a beast or worse, my brother," Canada half joked.
"I won't slack off too much, however I will start spending more time with you, especially since your only here for 11 more days," Eros said.
"Oh yeah," Canada looked down.
"Hey don't worry, we can still keep in touch." Eros said tilting his head up. "I'll come visit you in Canada when mom isn't micromanaging me," Eros promised. Canada smiled and gave Eros a hug.
"I should be going to bed now, I have to get up early," Eros said walking out the door. "These arrows don't shoot themselves," he smiled in the doorway. Canada smiled back and waved, "good night," "Good night," Eros waved back. Canada removed his toga, put on his pajamas and went straight to bed.
...
Parties were not Canada's forte since he wasn't social, and didn't like to dance. He only went to eat, see Eros, and curiosity of what the theme of the party would be.
The 2nd party was a white themed party. Everything was white, everything. The food consisted of: vanilla cakes and cupcakes with white icing, a white chocolate fountain, turkey sandwiches with white cheese, cookies with white icing, white chicken kebab with potatoes, white wine, water, and milk. Everything in the room was white, it was like being in a bowl of milk. The outfits were pretty much the same though.
3. Black themed party- had a white theme so might as well do the opposite, their logic, not Canada's. The tables had chocolate pastries with black icing, Oreo cookies, beef kebabs, and cake with chocolate icing. As with the white themed everything was black.
4. Arabian nights: Kebabs, sfihas, esfiha, and baklavas. The men had sultan outfits with the women wearing belly dancing outfits.
"No sex at this party, France!" Zeus ordered. France didn't looked too shocked, instead he smirked.
"I'll try my hardest," France responded; anyone could hear the sarcasm in that statement. At the end of the party a group of goddesses surrounded France, giving the appearance of a harem.
5. Diamond- silver and grey outfits. The same food as the white party, but with diamonds surrounding them.
"Diamonds are a girls best friend." Aprhodite flaunted off her new necklace Hephaestus made.
6. Las Vegas: Normal american finger food, but they had a card cake. "Nice cakes you have here," America complimented a goddess who helped make it.
"Which cakes?" she said suggestively.
"All of them," America leered. The woman giggled and they disappeared for the rest of the night. Women and men dressed in sparkly dresses and tuxes. The party had slot machines and pool tables.
7. French: France wore his usual outfit, with England being his twin. Everyone wore a beret. Crepes, croissants, cheese and wine were present.
"Kind of a boner kill after the Las Vegas theme," America commented. Even France had to agree with that one, but they still enjoyed the party and had fun.
8. Mardi Gras: Canada chose to wear a green hoodie with blue jeans. Po'boys were swerved along with shrimp, mini muffulettas, and king cake. Many beads were thrown and some opted to wear all colors of Mardi Gras. The residents of course flashed various body party to get the most beads; Aphrodite won.
9. Masquerade: Many of of the gods wore a simple suit and mask, likewise the goddesses wore dresses and masks. Wine was served, along with: kebabs, sandwiches, pastries, and gyros.
"I am the mysterious Gatsby!" America yelled taking off his mask. The crowd gasps and England scolded all of them.
"Honestly people, the joke is terrible, don't fuel it!"
10. Tea Party: Many dressed in formal wear and they had gloves. Many sandwiches, cookies, cupcakes, and slices of cakes were served along with tea. England drank lots of tea at the party. He was also the only one really enjoying himself.
"Awkward moment when you're the only one having fun," America joked.
"Fuck you America!" England shouted.
11. Valentine's day: Canada wore his usual red hoodie with white shorts. Japan wore a pink kimono with hearts on them, making him look very much like a girl. England and France wore red tuxes, while America opted for plain white. Sandwiches, pitas, and gyros, were shaped like hearts. Kebabs had heart shaped meats, and vegetables attached on a skewer. The pastries were pink, red, and/or shaped like hearts. Red and White wine were served along with water.
Only love songs were played and everyone coupled up. Eros was no where to be seen so he coupled up with America, Greece came and coupled up with Japan, while England and France coupled up. Kumajiro was left in his room alone. This was also the only party Greece came to.
...
Canada was relieved and sad that he had to leave Olympus. Relieved because that meant no more tiring parties, even if it was fun to guess which theme was next. The sadness stems from doing a whole bunch of paperwork and not seeing Eros as much.
"We'll have to go back to doing paperwork," England complained.
"You mean you guys," Greece said.
"I wasn't talking about you, lazy wanker," England grumbled.
"As much as I hate paperwork, I'm glad everything's back to normal," America commented on the ride down Olympus mountain.
"Yeah back to normal," England muttered. Everyone looked away from each other, each one having a different thought. France and Greece were the only two thinking their usual thoughts.
...
They ate dinner at Greece's house and planned to spend the night. Everyone was having a conversation when America interrupted. "We should totally come back next year!" America exclaimed.
"I don't" "Don't be such an uptight prick Angleterre," France interrupted England.
"I was not being uptight, I was merely saying that it might not be as fun to vacation in the same place." England said.
"Artie does have a point," America rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "How about Italy, Japan, China, Mexico, Kenya, or-"
"Shut up America!" England exclaimed.
"I wouldn't mind going to Greece again," Japan spoke up.
"We can see the gods and goddesses again, and they did throw 11 great parties," America said.
"Amérique has a point," France agreed. England turned to see Japan nodding and Greece shrugging.
"I guess one more vacation in Greece won't hurt. We'll be there next summer," England agreed. France and America shouted in excited, while Japan's excitement shone through his eyes. England playfully rolled his eyes, but smiled as well.
"We should probably get some shut eye so we don't miss our flights," England said. Everyone went to bed and Canada walked to his room muttering, "but no one even asked for my opinion."
...
A lot of parties to throw and plan, with each one being planned within a day; it was a lot of work for the assigned gods and goddesses. Though they are divine so it shouldn't be too much work for them. I also may have gone overboard with the description of the parties, but I'd rather have too much than a lack thereof.
Also don't be worried that they're not on Olympus. They will still keep very much in touch with the gods and goddesses, Canada, America, and France especially.
