Everyone stood in astonishment. Utau glanced at Amu's neck because something seemed strange. Her eyes widened at what she saw.

"The Humpty Lock…. It's black!", she exclaimed, bringing everyone's attention back to Amu.

The once shining white crystals were now pure black and dull. Amu looked pale.

"Onee-chan!", Ami cried. Utau put a hand on her shoulder.

"Leave it to me," Utau flapped her wings," Angel Cradle!"

Feathers wrapped themselves around the two eggs. But when Utau finished singing, the X's were still there.

"What?!", Utau exclaimed. Rima grabbed Nagi's hand.

"Let's give it a try," she said. Nagi nodded.

"My own heart: UNLOCK!"

"Chara nari: Yamato Maihime!"

"Queen's Waltz!" Nothing happened.

The door on the roof burst open and Tsukasa-san appeared, panting.

"I noticed the stars flicker earlier. Now they have almost completely gone out," he explained as he looked at Amu.

"What can we do?", Tadase asked.

Tsukasa walked over to Amu. He gently took a hold of the Humpty Lock. He looked up at the two eggs, his face was grim.

"We must bring her back to the school," Tsukasa started," Ikuto-kun, Tadase, would you be able to stay the night at the planetarium?"

"Of course," Tadase said eagerly. Ikuto nodded.

"What about me, Tsukasa-san?", Ami asked. Tsukasa shook his head.

"Gomen, Ami-san. But this is something that only these two can help with."

"Ami, do you want to sleep over at my apartment?", Utau asked. Ami's eyes lit up a little bit and she nodded.

"What about this girl?", Kukai asked pointing to the girl, who lay a few meters away.

"She should recover. But then again, the Dream Catchers may use her," Ikuto stated as he walked over and picked Amu up.

Tsukasa-san reached up and gently grabbed the X-eggs. He and Ikuto left followed closely by Tadase, who undid his chara nari. The others followed suit. Everyone wondered what was going to happen, now that Amu couldn't battle.

Ikuto, Tadase, and Tsukasa-san got Amu to Seiyo Academy safely and discretely with a "little" help from Nikaido-sensei. Tsukasa-san set up a makeshift bed for Amu to lie on in the office in the planetarium, while Ikuto and Tadase sat in the planetarium staring at the stars.

"She's yours if you still want her," Tadase said suddenly.

"What do you mean?" Ikuto asked.

"Amu-chan. She's yours."

"Utau told me you two had broken up. She never told me why though."

"I noticed that Amu-chan's heart as drifting away from me. I knew it would be best to let her figure it out herself, so I let her go."

"I asked Amu about your break up earlier. Dia said that you both decided to stop dating together."

"That's what we told everyone. But it was mostly my decision. I had noticed about a year ago that Amu had figured out what she wanted to be. So I waited a few months to make sure her heart was stable before I told her that I thought it would be better if we didn't date anymore."

"Ikuto-kun, Tadase…" Tsukasa-san interrupted.

The two boys looked at him. He was holding the eggs. Ikuto's eyes widened in horror, both eggs were completely black and were translucent. Tadase gasped.

"We have to figure out a way to bring Amu-san back before the Dream Catchers come after her," Tsukasa-san said grimly.

"Tadase, call the others. They need to be on standby just in case there's another battle tonight. I can feel it," Ikuto said. Tadase ran out of the room.

"Amu-san was only starting to figure out who she wanted to be. She's a member of the volleyball team. She has been excelling at arts and just learned how to play the violin. She's also an excellent cook," Tsukasa-san said," But she hasn't fully realized that she's turning into what her shugo charas' represented. The Heart was reborn. The Spade and Clover are resting just beneath the surface. But Ran coming back, made Amu-san's heart waver. She started thinking about the other two which only complicated things. Dia sensed the turmoil in Amu-san's heart. Amu has lost sight of her inner sparkle, which is why Dia is suffering the same fate as Ran.

"So basically Tadase didn't read the situation right and broke up with her. Ran and the others should have been reborn months ago," Ikuto said. Tsukasa nodded. Tadase, you can be an idiot sometimes, Ikuto thought.

Ikuto walked out of the room, with Tsukasa-san following close behind. Ikuto climbed up the stairs to the room where Amu was resting.

"What do you plan to do?" Tsukasa-san asked.

"Save her, the same way she saved me," Ikuto smiled.

Tsukasa handed him the two eggs and headed back downstairs. Ikuto open the door and walked in, closing it behind him. Tadase is going to get an earful tomorrow, Ikuto thought. He pulled up a chair next to the couch.

"I know I hide the truth from you a lot, but I'm going to be completely honest this time," Ikuto said," Amu this isn't like you. Tsukasa said that you were beginning to figure out who you wanted to be." Ikuto gently placed the two eggs in Amu's hand and held them there.

"The stubborn, charming girl, who's good at sports, art, and cooking. The girl who shines like a diamond no matter what she's doing."

Ikuto was cut short by Tadase and Tsukasa entering the room.

"Haven't you ever heard of knocking, Tadase?" Ikuto asked, slightly annoyed.

"Gomen. Tsukasa-san thinks it would be better to move her into the secret passage," Tadase said.

"Whatever."

Ikuto picked Amu up as Tsukasa-san tripped the secret lever that opened the hidden door. The three quickly entered the door closing firmly behind them. Tsukasa led the way through the twists and turns until they reached the bottom. There was a hallway lined with doors. Tsukasa opened the second door on the left. Inside was a fully furnished bedroom. Ikuto carried Amu to the bed and laid her down on it.

"You never cease to amaze me, Tsukasa-san," Tadase mused as he looked around the room.

"Tadase, I think you should go home and rest now. Leave these two to me," Tsukasa-san said.

"But Tsuka-" Tadase started. Tsukasa held up a finger and wagged it in front of Tadase's face.

"I believe, in time, the stars will shine again," Tsukasa said.

Tsukasa then proceeded to escort Tadase back to the planetarium, leaving Ikuto alone with Amu.

"Ikuto….I sense something strange from Amu-nya…," Yoru said.

The Humpty Lock started glowing darkly. Out of Amu's chest rose two more eggs, black and translucent. No!, Ikuto thought. All four eggs circled above Amu. Amu opened her eyes and sat up. Her eyes were darkened, there was no sparkle to them whatsoever. Amu swung her legs over the side of the bed in an attempt to stand up. Ikuto grabbed her shoulders to keep her from getting up.

"Amu! Snap out of it, please…"Ikuto begged. Amu struggled against him trying to get up. She finally succeeded and walked towards the door. Ikuto chara changed and was instantly in front of her, blocking her path.

"Amu, listen. You guided me out of the darkness when I was lost. You asked me once if I had someone who I liked. I told you that it was you but you didn't believe me," Ikuto said," Amu, I love you."

Ikuto wrapped his arms around Amu, who stayed still. Yoru watched nervously as the four eggs circled around Amu and Ikuto. Suddenly, the Dumpty Key detached itself from the chain around Ikuto's neck and glowed brightly. The Humpty Lock, which had been glowing darkly, started glowing white. The Dumpty Key then inched closer to the Lock, until it went into the keyhole.

The crystals on the Humpty Lock were changed from black back to white. The four eggs that circled them, instantly became colorful. The red and yellow eggs cracked open, revealing Ran and Dia. At this point, the Key and Lock stopped glowing and the Key returned to the chain around Ikuto's neck. Amu lifted her arms to hug Ikuto back.

"Baka, I believed you a little bit," Amu mumbled, before falling to the ground.

"Amu!"

"I'm fine. Just really tired."

"That's probably because the dark energy was eating away at you. It ate away at us," Dia said.

"But look at the bright side Amu-chan," Ran said as she and Dia pushed the blue and green eggs down so that Amu could see them.

"Miki! Suu!" Amu started crying.

"You should get some sleep," Ikuto picked her up. Ran, Dia, and Yoru pulled the blankets down so that Ikuto could put Amu on the bed. Ikuto pulled the covers over her, leaning down to kiss her on the cheek.

Little did they know, Tsukasa-san had seen the whole thing.

"I guess there's nothing to worry about now. Except for defeating the Dream Catchers, and helping the other lost child."
