As soon as the light engulfed Amu, Hotaru was force to stop her ongoing attack and back away. Ikuto watched as Ran came flying out of the light. Dia caught her.
"Spinny, spinny….." Ran said in a daze.
"What's going on?" Hotaru demanded angrily.
Suddenly the light faded, revealing Amu, who was wearing an outfit that Ikuto and the charas had never seen before. Amu wore a baby blue tee that had what appeared to be paint splatters on it. She had on dark blue skinny jeans with white suspenders hanging from them. A pair of bright blue chucks adorned her feet and went to just below her shins. She had a pair of fingerless black gloves on (one reached to her elbow; the other stopped at her wrist). There was a dark blue beanie on her head. Then something appeared on her shirt in the middle of the 'paint'; a giant blue spade. A smaller blue spade appeared as a clip on the side of her beanie and a spade pattern appeared on her suspenders.
"Chara nari: Amulet Spade!"
"What?!" Hotaru exclaimed.
"Miki!" Ran and Dia cheered, flying over to Amu.
"Amu-chan, let's fight sound with sound," Miki said, appearing in front of Amu. Amu sniffed and nodded.
"Prism Music!"
The rainbow colored music notes flew towards Hotaru and wrapped around her. Hotaru struggled against the restraints.
"Seems you're a bit tied up, Hotaru," a male voice said. A cloaked figure appeared above them.
"Yuki!", Hotaru exclaimed, "She blind-sided me."
"It would appear so. I thought she only had two shugo charas now. But it seems the other two are rehatching," Yuki mused.
"Yuki, help me!", Hotaru demanded.
"Dark Blizzard!"
Hotaru was blasted with snow that ate away at Prism Music and cancelled her transformation.
"You didn't have to be that rough," Hotaru said.
"Kaori wants to talk to you anyway. It's best that we retreat," Yuki grabbed Hotaru's wrist and the two disappeared.
"This is a nice turn of events," Ikuto said as he undid his transformation. Amu followed suit.
"It would be nicer if we weren't attacked everywhere we go," Amu said. Miki flew up to Amu and hugged her, along with Ran and Dia.
"Yay! Miki's back!" Ran cheered.
"It's weird how Heart and Spade's outfits are different from before," Dia mused.
"Yeah. Spade is less elegant than before," Ran agreed, "Not that it's a bad thing."
"I like the new outfits. Though I liked the old Spade outfit better," Amu said.
"Enough about outfits. Amu-chan, you noticed something about that girl, didn't you?" Dia asked, knowingly.
"She had a chara egg, but it was different. It looked like it had an X on it," Amu said.
"So she has two eggs-nya?" Yoru asked.
"That's what it looks-" Amu started. Something had caught her eye on the roof of the haunted house.
"Ran, chara change."
"Hai!"
Pink wings appeared on Amu's ankles and wrists. Amu jumped on to the roof. Around the area where Hotaru had been standing, lay the egg. Amu picked it up. Under the X, she could barely make out a cyan and white checkerboard pattern with a thick black stripe around the middle decorated with cyan hearts. It felt cold to the touch. Amu gently cradled the egg in her hands as she jumped down from the roof.
"It's the egg," Amu explained, holding it out to show Ikuto and the charas.
"I don't thinks it's a good idea to take the egg-nya," Yoru hid behind Ikuto, "That girl might come back for it. I have a bad feeling about it too-nya."
Amu looked at the egg.
"I'll take it home with me," Amu said.
"Are you sure?" Ikuto asked. She nodded.
