(The story has been rewritten, and a lot of it changed, so I suggest rereading the previous chapters)

As the recently named Persephone arose from her first ever night's sleep on the Destiny's Bounty, she couldn't help but feel somehow homesick for a home she couldn't even remember.

Not that she disliked the ninja, she just didn't know them very well, though they all seemed nice enough, they couldn't tell her anything about herself or give her any knowledge of her background or family.

After getting dressed into the plain red shirt and white pants kindly lent to her by Nya, she left the bedroom she had shared with the samurai, only to find herself lost in a hallway.

Thinking to herself about how she should really be used to confusion by now, the blonde female found a piece of paper attached to the front of the door. Upon closer inspection, it was clearly a map of the ship, with a certain route highlighted in yellow ink.

Persephone cautiously followed the instructions before her, a foreign feeling of relief settling over her as she heard noises of distant voices. She could only hear the conversation properly as she stepped into the full dining hall.

"It's pretty gross, really. He leaves his shaved hair in the basin almost every day." A cocky voice complained, Kai feeling confident in his attempts to embarrass Cole at least just a little bit.

"I do not, that's your hair!" A defensive black ninja shot back, not wanting to have to take the blame for something that, in his eye, was indeed not his own fault.

"Okay, we do not want to know about your beard-hair situation!" The sassy twin named Danni cut-in, wanting to end the banter the two ninjas had made the rest of the breakfast-eaters endure for the long part of ten minutes.

"Who said that it was his facial hair?!" Retorted the master of fire, who seemed intent on blaming his teammate for the many disgusting situations he found himself in on certain mornings.

However, it seemed that only then did anyone actually notice the nurse's presence, who seemed to have gotten the wrong first impression of two specific ninjas clad in red and black, or at least she hoped she had. Though, the longer she thought about it, the more Persephone found it brotherly rather than just plain gross. What it must be like to feel so close to a bunch of individuals that you are comfortable to mention such things, let alone have minor feuds on the matter, she almost smiled at how familial it seemed.

"Good morning, Persephone. I trust you slept well?" Sensei Wu hushed his students, immediately halting their bickering.

"Uh, yes. I did, thank you. Thank you for the map, it was most helpful." She replied quickly, aiming the last half at whoever had stuck it to Nya's door.

"You're welcome. I thought it might be handy, I got lost easily when I first got here too." The one dressed in yellow garb said kindly, Tara being her name.

Persephone had to find it cruel that she appeared to be good with names, yet could not remember her own, no matter how hard she concentrated.

After the delicious breakfast prepared by Nya and a continued horrible conversation brought on by Kai and Cole, everyone seemed to disappear off to the deck, and just as Zane was about to follow, he noticed Persephone lagging behind in the dining hall, seemingly because she didn't really know what to do or where to go.

"Persephone, why don't you come and watch us as we train, it might prove to be insightful." he suggested, not wanting her to feel ostracised from the group, even if she was not a ninja or samurai like the rest of them.

The two blondes fell into step with each other as they calmly made their way to the deck, the silence not yet uncomfortable as the amnesiac broke it.

"Thank you for plastering and then removing the cast on my leg for me." The nurse having added her oddly fast recovery to the list of things she had absolutely no idea about. Zane had said his scans provided him with the information that it was definitely harbouring a minor brake, and brakes don't just recover over a short time lapse of a couple of days. Her leg felt fine after she awoke from her long state of unconsciousness, and another scan from Zane said it was fine, yet he was certain it had been broken before, a truly puzzling situation.

"Do not worry about it," Zane comforted her, appearing to have read her mind. "Even nindroids are wrong sometimes, I am sure it must have just been a flaw of mine."

Before Persephone even thought of a reply, Zane opened the sliding doors to let them walk through to the deck. The female just stood in awe as she heard the clanging of Jay's nunchaku on Kai's katana mingle with their battle cries, saw Sensei Wu and Cole as they talked and showed Danni and Tara some stretches for them to copy, smelt the fresh outside air she hadn't come across in a while and felt the overwhelming joy of the mission they were all fighting for; the mission to let peace once again reign down on all of Ninjago.

"Come on, you can just rest a bit and watch us from over here." Persephone was guided to the side of the ship by the nindroid, before he quickly went over to Sensei to begin his training for the day.

"Well, hello there, young one." A deep voice resonated in the woman's head, after turning to find its source, the young lady came face to face with a monster with two faces, its skin not skin at all. The majority of its body that wasn't obscured by a large hoodie was covered in red scales, two pairs of large fangs protruding from the upper jaws.

Too paralysed to speak or scream, the female took several steps back. Only when her back had pushed up against the isle she was just re-shelving did she find her voice.

Unfortunately for the woman, a gloved hand covered her mouth before the squeal escaped her lips. The reptilian monster right up in her face, her eyes were as wide as they would go and her complexion lost all colour, showing just how scared she really was.

"We only require your medical expertise." The reptile looked down at her name badge, "Stacey."

"Persephone?"

"Are you alright?"

"Please don't tell me she's in a coma again"

"Jay!"

"What? That would be bad!"

"Ugh, seriously, dude?"

Sitting up slowly, then opening her eyes, the blonde revealed the small puzzle piece she had recovered. "Stacey. My name is Stacey." She explained, though it seemed as if she was telling herself rather than the group of people surrounding her with concerned looks.

"Do you remember who you are now?" Cole asked curiously, hoping the lost girl could finally have some good news come her way, though not necessarily wanting to speak too soon.

"No, not everything. I only remembered a short memory, right before the serpentine kidnapped me, I think." Though her words made sense, Stacey still wore a frown. There were still so many questions that ran through her mind endlessly, yet not many answers could be seen in the foreseeable future, and she couldn't keep mooching off the ninja, samurai and their sensei for long.

"So, I was right?" Danni broke the silence, wanting full confirmation before abusing the bragging rights she thought she possessed.

"Yeah, how did you do that, exactly?" Kai asked a question that had been pondered over in the majority of the minds of the occupants of the Bounty.

Danni completely brushed him off though, preferring to help Stacey to her feet, as she had been sitting down, propped up by the railing.

"I'll talk about that later, we should have lunch now. You must be hungry Stacey." She finally replied. Upon hearing the words, Stacey realised she was hungry and the sky was indeed brighter, the placement of the sun suggesting it was about noon. The still confused girl didn't have time to ponder the way time had escaped her grasp so quickly, as she was yet again guided into the dining hall by the crowd of warriors.

After everyone was seated and enjoying Zane's beautifully prepared dinner feast, where the clinging of cutlery and blissful sighs could be heard clearly, conversation had been flourishing.

"To be fully honest, I actually have no idea how I did that" Danni admitted, frowning with what seemed like confusion. After a moment she stopped, shaking her head slightly, indicating that she had been lost in thought, and looked at Sensei Wu, as if he had all the answers.

"It was definitely a sign of your growing power, yet sometimes our bodies know more than our minds do. I'm sure you'll figure it out soon enough, Danielle." Sensei replied stoically, yet he felt proud that his students were indeed improving, moving along in the right direction.

Nevertheless, down towards the other end of the table, Stacey sat with her mind clogged up with confusion, questions and self-doubt. How could she possibly repay these people for perhaps saving her life and giving her a place to stay while she recovers? And why were they in the first place?

Her forlorn face didn't go unnoticed however, a certain caring nindroid saw it out of the corner of his eye, and immediately became concerned, wanting to voice his worry and get to the bottom of whatever problem she had, though he thought he knew why she looked rather downcast, and if he was correct, he mightn't be much of a help.

"Stacey, you have found some information as to your past, you should be celebrating, happy to be one step closer to understanding. Why do you not rejoice?" He asked, keen to show her the silver lining of the current situation.

"Well, I just. I just don't understand." She stated her simple response, not releasing much information on to what it was that was plaguing her mind.

"What is it that you wish to comprehend, young one?" Sensei Wu was the one to fire the next question at the supposed 'young one'.

She was done hiding her qualms. Surely it would be a good idea to hear the protectors' reasons for providing her with food, a place to sleep and pleasant company. Though she was not precisely sure why she was nervous to ask, Stacey really was a little bit anxious to. What if they brushed it off as a ridiculous question? What if they realised it was weird to keep her here and kicked her out? A deep breath was inhaled before she dared utter any words, she calmed her mind and went for it anyway.

"Why have you allowed me to stay with you? Even though I'm not part of your mission." Stacey asked then mumbled the last sentence, not sure why that particularly saddened her. Perhaps it was because they all seemed to belong together, fighting side by side, each person a piece of the puzzle to balanced teamwork. Whereas at the moment, Stacey didn't belong anywhere, and that didn't help with her rather large amounts of depressed feelings.

How could anyone understand? None of the people in front of her were lost emotionally, and none of them could relate to her loneliness. Would she ever remember, or will Stacey be forced to live a life full of uncertainty, her only guide being her broken heart?

It almost disgusted her, the way these people were given such tremendous powers, a great wealth, and they all just sat here like normal people. Maybe she wasn't the one fooling herself, maybe it was the warriors that surrounded her that were the lost ones. They were the ones that gambled with their lives, fighting for a cause they were all pushed into.

Yet maybe the real monster here was destiny. A force never seen, always felt. The controller to an unfair game, the one thing that put her and the ninja in their current soul-retching situations. How can one repay destiny for its cruel jokes? One cannot. The force of destiny cannot be seen, heard, smelt or tasted. Only felt. Leaving it unreachable and you feeling completely used.

"Uh, Stacey? What are you doing?" Danni's voice from next to Stacey was heard, and it immediately penetrated her thoughts, leaving her once again alone, facing a table of people watching her with frowns and wide eyes.

No, not her. Her hands.

Stacey quickly looked down at her hands, which were resting on the table, each hand on either side of her empty plate. But she couldn't see her hands, for there were two piles of irregular white shapes resting on and around them.

Upon seeing this, she quickly pulled her hands away, out of the piles. Hesitantly, she picked up one of the crystals, and lightly licked it.

"Salt. Wait, did I do that?"

And there we go!

We got to see a little further into the mind of Stacey, who, as you can probably tell, is a very emotional person. She gets carried away with her thoughts more often than not.

Thank you to everyone who has reviewed, or even just read the story at all so far!
