-flings chapter to the crowd- DON'T HATE ME! -shishas away-
Lord Sesshomaru stared at the elevators doors for a full minute before Rins cries to help the woman trapped inside reached him. It was all he could do not to rip the doors open and seethe venomous words at the woman whom he assumed had seduced him. He did not in any way need another Kagura, bent on trying to ruin his life. However, he could not just leave her there. If he tried Rin would not easily forgive him. He was in no mood to try and win back her affection. Sighing inwardly, the great demon reached out for the doors, determined not to let the situation get the better of him.
The doors opened easily for the great Lord, he was not let breathless or covered in disgusting sweat the way the human female had been. He was also good at keeping his calm demeanor, something he quickly learned he and the woman shared. Though when he gave her a second look, sitting calmly against the back wall, head held high, the only sign of any turmoil to be seen was in her eyes. But even that was just barely noticeable to his keen eyes.
The woman looked at him for a moment, before closing her eyes. "There is something I must tell you. I am sure that you have remembered me from that night, from that mistake we shared. I feel that it is only right to inform you of the consequence of our actions." She opened her eyes once more and gave Sesshomaru a hard look. He knew in that instant what she was getting at.
"I see." He replied coolly. Instead of letting the conversation continue, the demon wedged a shoulder against one of the doors and offered the woman a clawed hand. She hesitated for a moment longer before taking his hand. Carefully, he pulled her from the elevator and helped her to her feet.
"I am in no way expecting you to do anything. I am able to take care of myself, as well as what is coming." The woman brushed any dust that may have settled on her dampened clothes away, and let her soaked hair out of its ribbon hold. The ends of her long raven hair curled slightly, water droplets clung to various strands of her bangs before marring her face with streaks as she moved. One she was satisfied with herself, she turned to see Rin clinging to Sesshomaru. For a split second she was startled, until she recalled the toy box she had discovered the morning after. She gave the little girl a sweet smile before turning her attention back to the demon. She bowed her head, and then turned to make her leave.
"Kikyo!" A shriek stopped the demon lord from saying anything more. Before he knew what was happening, the loud mouthed human his half-brother would be marrying had come bolting down the hall, and nearly knocked to woman he had helped to the ground with a crushing hug. "I was so worried! Why didn't you call me to say you would be late!?"
The woman, Kikyo, offered an apologetic smile once the hug ended and she was held at arm's length. Quickly the other members of the loud humans family gathered in the hall, all with something to say about Kikyo's lateness. It was at that point that the lord pieced all of the pieces together. The woman who was to bare his child, was to be his wife. There was a slight involuntary twitch to his left eye as his mind wrapped around this information.

The truth behind the awkwardness between Sesshomaru and Kikyo had only created more awkwardness. Hiro had no idea how to take the news that his eldest, most responsible daughter had been foolish enough to behave in such a manor. The group had retreated back into the meeting room, where the story of how the two had met and the mistake that led to an unexpected pregnancy was told in as little detail as Kikyo could give.
It came as no surprise to her when both her step mother and Izayoi gushed to each other about becoming grandmothers. Rin, who had been asked to step out with Shouta, was simply told someday soon she would have a sibling. The child was more than ecstatic about the news, almost immediately she asked if she would be having a sister or brother, and whether the baby would enjoy sharing her toys.
When at last all was settled and out in the open, the Omiai continued. An arrangement was settled, and a date was settled for a wedding. The two families, fully satisfied with the outcome of their get together arranged plans to share a dinner.
For Kikyo, having her family and new fiancé know the secret she and Kagome had been carrying, felt as though the world itself was lifted off her shoulders. As everyone began to file out of the room, friendly arguments about which restaurant would be better filed the corridor. Kikyo was about to follow the others, when Sesshomaru stopped her.
"Rather than be around that why don't I treat you to dinner?" Though his words seemed friendly, there was an indifferent air to his voice. His eyes were hard and void of an emotion Kikyo thought she may find in them. She weighed the options for a moment before accepting the offer.
"Dinner would be lovely."
