Here is chapter nine of Sick Of It. I made this one a little bit longer than the amount I usually write. I hope you enjoy it.

Chapter 9:
Fervid Flashbacks

Kim and Ron's house:
Shego slowly yawned trying to stretch and sit up, but something stopped her... or someone. She looked over to see what was keeping her from getting up and go to the bathroom. She smiled at the site. Kim was fast asleep, snoring softly, hugging the raven haired woman in her sleep. "...Ron." She murmured. Shego held in a giggle. She then grabbed her pillow to set it in her place carefully not waking the sleeping redhead. Shego sighed. "I hope Ron has a good reason for breaking cupcake's heart." She thought angrily. Shego then went to the bathroom to take care of her morning business and then brushed her hair.

Shego found the redhead still fast asleep which worried the former villain. It was going on 11:00 AM and sleeping all day to cope with depression was not good for anyone. Shego went and sat next to Kim. She gently shook her to wake her up.

"Kimmie, come on Kimmie! Wake up!"

Kim groaned and put her pillow over her head. "Five more minutes..." she muttered sleepily.

"No, now." Shego said pulling the pillow off Kim's head. "Sleeping like this isn't healthy and you and I both know that. Get up and go outside. A beautiful day lies ahead of you."

Kim opened one eye and gazed up at Shego. "I don't wanna..."

Shego took a deep breath to keep her anger in control. "Come on, Princess. This isn't healthy for the baby either. If you don't want to get up for yourself do it for your child." Shego said with annoyance, getting impatient. Then a smirk slowly appears across her face. "If you shower and get ready, I might even consider making pancakes."

Kim's eyes flew open and she jolted up. "Pancakes?"

"Mayyybe." Shego smiled. Having a little fun bribing the kid with food. She then left the room so Kim could get ready for the day. Shego planned to keep her busy and out of bed. Keeping the redhead's mind off Ron is the best way to handle the situation right now. So that's what she is going to do.

"Pancakes..." Kim muttered stepping into the shower, washing off quickly for her breakfast. "There better be pancakes..."

Kim stepped out of the shower, and grabbed a towel. Wrapping it around her as the smell of warm golden fluffy pancakes teased her nose. She quickly got dressed, brushed her hair until an orange shine was visible, and stumbled to the kitchen to see if Shego kept her promise. She did.

Shego turned from the skillet flipping the last pancake as the redhead stumbled to the table. She smiled, and then grabbed both of the plates and served the redhead her strawberry pancakes. Shego then served herself and sat at the table with the hero. She texted Drakken asking if he found out what was going on. She smiled when she found out what really happened. "I knew the buffoon loved Cupcake too much to leave her." She thought. Then the anger for him grew back once she thought of the lie he said to break her heart. "What kind of sane person does that to their fiancée while pregnant?!" She thought again. Shaking her head, she got back to reality and started eating her part of the delicious breakfast.

Kim was about to get up and go back to the bedroom but then a hand stopped her.

"Hold it right there, Princess! There is nooo way you are getting back in that bed! Come on! We're going shopping." Shego stated picking up the redhead.

Kim yelped in surprise as she was being pulled out the door and into Shego's car. Before Kim could protest, Shego already strapped them both in and pulled out the driveway.

Shego turned on some Black Eyed Peas party jams careful to keep all the love songs out for a while. Shego started singing which put a smile on Kim's face, laughing and singing along. Kim never felt like this in a while. Maybe it wasn't so bad to be single. On the stop lights they decided to do some odd dances in the car. People looked at them so funny, they laughed harder. Kim decided they should freak people out on every stop light. As a woman who loved taunting others for fun, especially Drakken... Shego immediately agreed to that. They danced like that all the way to their destination. Carefree of what others thought of them.

They arrived at the Middleton Mall and Shego took Kim for the shopping of her lifetime. They went to Club Banana that surprisingly has an amazing maternity wear selection. Shego paid for whatever Kim picked out. The ex-thief laughed when Kim pulled out a blue suit in the men's wear and mocked Dr. Drakken. "Princess, stop! My sides hurt!" Shego squeaked out between her giggle fits. Shego was happy she could make Kim forget about Ron, but she knew she wont be able to keep this up forever. Behind her smiles to Kim she secretly hoped the blue scientist was able to talk Ron into fixing his mistakes.

Yamanouchi School of Ninjutsu:
"Alright, chosen one. That is enough training for today. Tomorrow we'll be working on Power Control so you don't accidentally murder my brother like you did those aliens." Sensei said, surprised at how hard Ron has worked.

"Thank you, Sensei." Ron panted. He passed out, out of breath in his room at the school. He rested a few minutes before he reached for his Ronmunicator. He pressed a few buttons, and called the one person who made his existence worth millions. He wasn't ready to tell Kim the truth, but knew he had to if he wanted to keep her in his life.

Kim and Ron's house:
Shego and Kim sat at Kim's home. Shego whipped up some steak, green beans, and baked potatoes for the two girls. They chatted about their girls day out as they ate the delicious meal. Kim was putting up the dishes as her Kimmunicator rang.

"H-hey... KP." Ron said sheepishly as the guilt was shown right through him.

Kim's heart dropped and the Kimmunicator fell out of her hands. She clutched her fists as she collapsed in pain on the floor, tears flowing through her eyes. Shego caught Kim and held her as Kim let all of her pain fall into Shego's lap. Shego grabbed the hero's device and picked it up.

"Listen buffoon. I know Dr. D talked to you and shit, but you broke Kimmie in more ways than one. You really think after lying to her about leaving her to fight some evil Japanese old man she'd forgive you with open arms?!" Shego spat out in anger.

Ron dropped his head, along with his heart. Tears shattering through his eyes. "No, Shego. I didn't. But how else am I supposed to turn this around? I don't want to lose her. She is the only reason for my existence. If I lost her, there wouldn't be a me. Please, calm her down enough to talk to me. I want to tell her the truth. I want to trust her not to fallow me here with our child inside her. I want to know she can trust me to protect my family. I'm really sorry!"

Shego sighed, she used some breathing exercises to calm her anger before she spoke to the blonde. "I know Ron. I'm sorry I gotten mad, but I haven't had a friend like Kimmie in ages and seeing her like that tears me up inside. I will calm her down for you and keep her company while you're training to defeat old and ugly. But pull shit like this again I'll fucking rip your throat out!" Shego threatened the boy.

Ron nodded calmly perfectly okay with the threats he received. He wanted Shego to hurt him next time he hurt Kim. "Thanks Shego. I owe you one. Keep my family safe."

"Damn right you do Monkey boy! Now train hard and go kick some Japanese Grandpa ass!" Shego joked and smiled.

Ron smiled weakly before the blue device went black. Shego looked down in her lap. She smiled warmly seeing the exhausted redhead asleep on her lap snoring softly. Shego picked the girl up bridal style and headed towards the bedroom.

Shego was surprised in herself. She never felt this protective about anyone since her daughter passed 12 years ago. She let a small tear escape her eyes. She turned away from the good hero life because she lost the only one who kept her sane when working with her brothers. She had to keep Kimmie from going through the same situation she had and to keep Kimmie safe so she doesn't go through it again. Her mind traced back on the day she tried so many times before to forget...

"Mommy, hurry up! I can see the playground from here." Said little 4-year-old Karla. The little girl was a mirror image of Kim. Except for the same pale green skin she shared with her mother. She looked at her green-skinned mother with excitement in her eyes, challenging her mother for a race before she started racing off towards Go City Park.

Sheila Go smiled softly at her daughter, wishing she still had her energy and excitement for things like playgrounds and ice cream. Things seemed so much simpler back then. "I'm coming my beautiful princess. Slow down a little." She said rushing to catch up with her.

Karla smiled at her mother as the reached the road they had to cross to get to the park. Sheila returned the smile to her daughter.

"Karla Ann Go! You better wait for your mother before you cross that street!"

"Hurry up mommy! My fwiend is already on the swing set waiting for me!" Said Karla impatiently.

"Pumpkin, don't start getting that attitude! I'm hurrying as fast as these old green legs will take me. Hold on just a few more minutes and we'll get to your friend."

Sheila rushed to the sidewalk beside her daughter so they could cross together but little did she know that fate had other plans.

"MOMMY!" Karla screamed in fear, she reached for her mother, who was still running as fast as she could, trying to catch up to her daughter.

Time froze as a semi truck crashed on top her daughter's side. Sheila ran as the tears blurred her vision, she had to get to her child. She had to save her child. She just had to. She was a superhero after all. A member of Team Go, and protector of Go City. She could do something as simple as saving her daughter. But when she reached her daughter's lifeless body, she collapsed.

"My pumpkin... my princess... s-she's... KARLA!" Sheila screamed. The tears flowed freely down her pale green skin. She pulled Karla's lifeless body out from under the Semi and pulled it close to her. Sheila Ann Go held her sweet little cupcake one last time and let out a loud wailing cry as the reality of her daughter's death overtook her. The tears continued to flow freely, she rocked her child's body back and forth, singing softly to it as if it would bring her back to life.

The driver was so drunk, he wasn't even sober enough to realize that he just murdered a four year old girl who's mom happened to be the member of Team Go with the plasma powers and the huge anger problem. He laid in his seat, still highly intoxicated, that didn't snap Sheila back into reality. What slapped her in the face back into life was his cold drunken words he said next.

"That stupid child... s-houldn't have gotten... in my w-way. W-what... a... stupid... whore."

"WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT MY DAUGHTER YOU FUCKING BASTARD?!"

Sheila's hands lit up and the next thing the drunk driver knew green plasma'd hands went through his body. Sheila punched, and hit, and punched, and hit. and punched...

"Sis, you can stop hitting him now. He's been dead for ten minutes." Mego said. The only adult Go member that Shego didn't hate.

He lovingly pulled his sister off the ground, holding her tightly, making ssh noises. Mego sighed as held his hurt sister, who was still shaking, and very hurt herself. He looked at the scenery, he then saw someone only he, the twins, and Shego knew about. Karla was kept well hidden from Hego due to his ego and his way of doing things being a bad influence towards a small child growing up. He saw that she was well gone, a few tears of his own slid. He didn't cry like his sister did though. He knew staying strong for her is best for the situation at hand. He waited until she fully calmed down to drive her back to the Go Tower, which took a few hours.

Mego arranged for a funeral service for Karla secretly without Hego knowing. Only Mego, Shego, The twins, and Shego's close friends and relatives who Shego allowed to know about Karla's existence were invited. Even Shego's parents were invited. Shego was too depressed to arrange it herself. But this was something even strong independent Shego wouldn't get over too easily. A mother isn't supposed to bury her child. It's supposed to be the other way around. Even Shego knew that this isn't right. Only the drunk driver should be dead, not Karla.

Doctor Betty Director, Shego's best friend at the time, was one of the first to arrive to Karla's funeral. She stared at the broken family before sighing and closing her one eye as the tears silently fell. 'Who could ever deserve this?' She spoken to herself silently. She walked over to give her best friend a comforting hug.

"Sheila, I apologize about this. I know there isn't much I can say to take this pain off your chest but If there is anything I can do to help you get through this let me know."

Shego, grabbed her composure before answering. "Thanks Betts. You, know there is something you can do. I don't think I'll be able to read my letter to Karla I wrote for her funeral without walking off and tearing up the place sobbing half to death. Will you read it for me?"

Betty gave a soft, weak smile. " Of course, Sheila. Now you and the boys just sit down and rest a bit. I'm going to find the man responsible for my god-daughter's death after all of this is over."

"Oh I've already taken care of that, Betts. I was there when it happened. The bastard is probably burning wild in hell right now." Shego said with a vengeful grin, which did not earn her any sympathy points. It just earned her looks of concern and remorse.

An awkward silence passed by the two friends after that talk. Once everyone showed for the funeral, and Betty noticed Shego was still in no mood to stand up to a crowd just to bawl her eyes out, she rose from her seat and stood at the podium.

"First, I like to thank everyone for coming. For those of you who don't know me, I am Betty Director, Sheila's best friend and Godmother of Karla Ann Go, Born August 28th, 1996, Died September 16th 2000. I have been chosen on Sheila's behalf to do her funeral. unfortunately even heroes have things they can't do on their own when grieving over a loved one. Sheila has written a letter for her daughter. Due to the loss of Karla, she is suffering deep depression and grief. She has asked me to read the letter to all of you.

My Beautiful Daughter,
I remember it well, the day you were born
Everyone was happy, smiling faces adorn
The epitome of what every baby girl should be
You were loved so much, anyone could see.

A year passed by, not much has changed
You were walking, even talking,
but our smiles stayed the same

A year and a half later,
daddy became ill
He fought hard to stay with us,
but I guess nothing could change Fate's will.

When the truck fell upon you,
I knew your life was gone,
I fight the tears every day,
For you, my daughter, I'll stay strong.

I love you, I miss you so much,
My baby, My princess, My Karla

There was not a dry eye at the funeral home once Betty was done reading the poem/letter. They all stood as Mego and the Wego twins picked up their niece's casket. They offered to be the paw bearers for Karla's funeral. The brothers sniffled and walked slowly with their heads down. All silently sobbing over their niece's sudden death.

"She had so much more to live for." One of the twins mentioned. "She was just at the wrong place at the wrong time." The other added.

Sheila's wails became louder as they lowered her daughter's casket into the ground. Mego and Betty both gave her desperately needed hugs. Standing side by side to comfort the grieving mother, though that only made her wish it was Karla who was hugging her. The twins were doing some grieving of their own letting the tears fall from their faces.

When the funeral was over, none of them felt like going back to The Go Tower and deal with Hego's ego. They went out for lunch and then all got rooms at a hotel to stay in for the night. Lucky for them, Hego has also gotten complete stupidity, so he did not intend to look for his siblings.

Shego on the other hand didn't go to the hotel right away. That night she wasted herself in alcohol so much she woke up in an alley with a stray cat sleeping on her stomach. She pushed off the cat and tried to sit up. She started to stumble for the nearby hotel her brothers stayed at, but her stomach had other matters to attend to. After she allowed the Vodka to leave her stomach she went for the, nice, quiet hotel and booked in the room until her hangover was gone.

Things went down hill from the for Shego's hero career. Hego did not know why everyone was off their game, but Hego didn't care. He wanted them to quit failing and making him look bad. Shego's anger gotten worse as well. Nothing went her way anymore. The little hope she's gotten out of her fucked up life was from Karla and her deceased boyfriend. She mostly kept herself locked in her room blaring sad, depressing music 24/7. Once Hego had enough of that, Shego was thrown out.

Shego at first went hotel hopping, crashing wherever she could, seeing the reasons why she's still alive. Cursing the man above for not letting her leave this hell on earth along with Karla. She was just about to give up until she met a blue skinned man who went by Dr. Drakken, he let her stay in his evil lair, even gave the ex-hero her own room. He then told Shego in order to stay there she needed to become her evil sidekick. Shego at first hated the idea, but she needed something besides alcohol to help her forget about Karla, so she caved.

"Welcome to the world of villainy, Shego. I promise you won't be disappointed by helping me take over this blasted world."

Reality took over as she realized she was still holding a sleeping redhead. She laid Kim on her bed and she went to the other side. She will keep her promise to Ron. Not because of the buffoon, but because she had purpose in life again. She will protect Kimmie. She will protect her best friend and her child, so she can make up for not being able to protect her child.
