TWO:

The next four months of preparation where a blur to Daphne. There was so much that she had needed to accomplish. By the time the time came for Daphne to actually travel to Magix, she was mentally exhausted. Little did she know how exhausted she would be by the end of her first term.

It hadn't even taken Daphne a day to realize that life at Alfea was a far cry from her old life inside the Sparks Castle. Everything was different. Harder. The classes where at times very challenging, more so ones that required the use of magic. As Daphne wasn't use to using her magic as frequently nor was she extremely proficient with her gift. Thus leaving her the worst student in the class. However her core classes where a snap, partly in thanks to the many years of Griselda's teaching no doubt.

Despite her short-comings, the school work was the least of her challenges. Getting along with her classmates and roommates where an unknown subject all in their own. Although polite, Daphne struggled to form any type of bond with anyone at the school. Especially when her one roommate, Cadence, found out about Daphne's secret crush on a fellow freshman at Red Fountain, Brad whom she had become rather close with. Rather than keeping the information to herself, Cadence when and spread word all around campus and beyond. It went without saying that Daphne was embarrassed, more so when she found out Brad was secretly dating a teacher over at Cloud Tower.

But that was only scratching the surface, especially when nasty rumors of the Domino heir spread like wild fire, and scorn at the discovery of his secret Brad never spoke the Daphne again and was shortly expelled from Red Fountain on charges of drug possession. But that only started to spread even more rumors that started to fly left and right about the young crowned princess have interactions with such a shady character. The media had a frenzy with it; they calmed not only did Daphne struggle with addiction, but also suffered from mental disorders and argued that was the reason she was rarely seen in public and was simply not fit for her title. Dragon, did that ever get the Chambers talking. At first Daphne believed that in due time the rumors would go away, and she could go back to life as she knew it. Sadly that was not the case, as her story sold papers, and that kept the media coming. Everywhere Daphne looked and turned she couldn't seem to escape the controversy that surrounded her.

Concerned about their daughter and angered by the press, Mariam and Ortiel did all they could to kill off the rumors and protect their daughter. During her holiday break Ortiel did all he could to convince Daphne to not return back to Alfea, saying she could study from home and prepare herself for her future role of Queen. But Mariam wasn't sure that was the best thing for her dear Daphne, and determined that it was not hers of her husband's place to determine that path Daphne follow and it was truly up to her if she wanted to resume her studies at Alfea or not.

But Daphne wasn't a quitter, despite her urge to retreat to the safe security of home she choice to return and complete her college years at Alfea. However this time she knew better than to trust her peers. After the many failure of her first term and the controversy that still lingered, Daphne did her best to fly under the radar and spend as much time as she could reading and studying magic for the rest of the school year as well as the remaining two years at college. After all no one would interfere with her knowledge.

The plan worked well for the rest of her freshman and sophomore year. But her senior year, well that all went to Shadow-Haunt. Thanks to her new roommate, Laura, the fairy of desires. Laura was wild, loud, outgoing, and confident- everything Daphne wasn't. And somehow a friendship formed between the two fairies.

With the help of Laura, Daphne was able to break out from underneath her shell and actually have some fun. Perhaps too much fun…

If there was thing Laura was famous, er, rather, infamous for it was her parting habits. Laura partied fast and hard, too hard for Daphne's preferences. Then again any college party was too hard for the mouse-y and book-ish Daphne.

Every Friday and Saturday night was the same. Laura would turn to her friend as she started towards the door and ask if Daphne wanted to tag along. Each time the same thing happened; Daphne would looked up from her book, and would thank her for asking and then polity turn her down. With a sigh and the shake of the head, Laura would mutter under her breath about how her roommate needed to 'live a little' and then leave for the party. After Laura's departure, Daphne would return to her book and carry on as usual.

But one night, Friday the thirteenth nonetheless, when Laura asked as she always did if Daphne wanted to come along. Un-like usual she looked up from her book for more than a moment and Daphne did something different. She put down her book and much to her own surprise and even horror, she said yes.

After all everyone had been telling her that college was the time to try new things, and branch out.

Urban Heat was one of the newest clubs in all of Magix City and currently the most popular for college age students much like herself. The club itself was located on the edge of the city in a rundown neighborhood that prompted cold chills down Daphne's spine as Laura lead her inside. It was strange to see the least, or at least it was to Daphne. Music blasted loudly form speaks so loud it seem to shake the building, everywhere there was people dressed in barely there outfits that where dancing wildly in-time with the music, while others watched from the sidelines as they made out with their dates of someone they had just met moments before.

It was a lot to take in, and so far outside of Daphne's comfort zone that it was nearly beyond her comprehension. Feeling as if she was about to drown in a sea of water, Daphne quickly turned to her friend, ready to admit she was wrong and even beg her roommate to leave. That is until Daphne discovered that Lauren wasn't there, or anywhere to be seen.

Daphne's heart began to beat faster, and faster as her chest tightened. She had to get out of there fast. Using all of her might she push and shoved her way towards the door. Desperate to get as far away as she could from this place and back to her cozy dorm and her mundane lifestyle.

It hadn't taken long for Daphne to make it to the door, but her plans where cast aside when by chance she looked up at the stranger she had just ran into. A tall man with shimmering ember colored eyes that seems to look into her soul.

Unlikely most princess, Daphne had never fancied herself to be the type to gush and goo over some man. But this was different, he was different.

The rest, the rest of it was a blur to Daphne. One moment she was standing in the middle of Urban Heat hand and hand with the mysterious man- Valtor, that was his name. But they next she found herself in a place she had never been or though she would be. Waking up in bed, naked with Valtor beside her.
